Just had my car repaired by Exeter Nationwide and they were very good - kept in regular contact updating me on car - always phoned back when they said they would - were realistic with completion date - brought work forward to fit in with me as I was going on holiday for a few weeks The accident was a horrible experience but the professional and helpful service at Nationwide was great. Wonderful staff, friendly and reassuring... My insurance company picked the best place for my poorly car!!! I am very happy with the service given by nationwide, they updated me on regular basis on the progress. The repairs on my car took a very long time as the parts they order were hard to get hold of. The plus side was that they gave me really nice courtesy car which was excellent to driver. The service I was given by the lady who phoned me to collect my car was excellent, she arranged the time best suited for me to collect. After my vehicle was damaged my Insurance company arranged for Nationwide crash repairs to collect and repair the damage to my car. I was informed of the progress and the work was completed in 11 days. I am very please with the repair. The courtesy car that was supplied had a faulty fuel gauge so when I tried to replace the fuel it did not register, so I did a second attempt, but still could not get it to register. After scrapping the paint on my car my insurance company put me in touch with Nationwide Benfleet. Received a call within minutes booking my car in for repair within days. As this was my first experience dealing with a repair company i was very happy that they kept me informed every step of the way. Friendly service. From entering the office the service was excellent all round. The lady dealt with my claim in a very efficient, professional manner, assuring and explaining the process from start to finish. recently had a wee bump in my car first time ever... called my insurance company who said they would pass my details onto there reccomende repair garage.... 20 mins later I got a call from nationwide Redruth OMG she was friendly and efficient and made everything smooth and easy she arranged collection of my car and delivery of a fab toyota yaris for me to use whilst mine was in for repair. So far Nationwide have had my car for 6 weeks. Each time I ring up there is something different left to do on the car. The refuse to give me a completion date as "they don't like to do that", and there was I thinking I was the customer. They have managed to lose the car keys and have had to get them replaced. Thank you for the prompt response. I'd obvisouly be uncomfortable putting my registration plate on a public forum. I have, though, already emailed your customer liaison department yesterday with those details and as yet have not received a response. Perhaps if someone had responded to that as quickly as you have responded to a public posting we could've had this conversation in private.
The manager at the branch is well aware of my views on the matter and is unable to offer any redress.
Put simply I want my car fixed and returned to me and a response to the points I have raised in my email to you. I am no longer interested in a conversation where someone from your organisation explains the situation. I am sure you can tell me 101 legitimate reasons on your side as to why you have not been able to fix my car. None of which go to resolving my problem or are of any concern to me anymore. As I say, all I would like is my car back and to never have to deal with your organisation again.

I have spoken in length to the manager of our Huddersfield centre. I understand the repairs to your vehicle were extensive and not straight forward. There have been numerous parts delays and we are currently waiting on a part. These delays are totally beyond our control - unfortunately we are at the mercy of our suppliers sometimes. We have been given at date of 14th May for the delivery of the outstanding part but we cannot confirm when the repairs will be completed until we have received the part and are 100% certain that there are no other faults with the vehicle. I understand the manager explained this to you yesterday, however, I have asked him to call you again to go through the reasons for the delays and lack of completion date. We offered you a courtesy car which you declined. If you have since changed your mind, please inform the centre manager when he calls and he will arrange one for you. I understand how frustrating this is for you but please accept that we are trying to ensure your vehicle is returned to you with the highest standard of repairs. We therefore cannot give you a completion date until we have possession of all the parts and are clear that all the faults have or are in the process of being rectified. As regards our customer liaison department not responding - I have chased them up and someone should be calling you soon. Please rest assured that we are doing our best to repair your vehicle as quickly as we possibly can.

It's not about the curtesy car. Its about the lost keys, the constent delays, the changing stories. I have no desire to speak to the manager of the branch. As you point out he is no more in a position to tell me when I'm getting my car than you are.
I disagree with you on the idea that you can't tell me when it's going to be fixed until its fixed. No other industry would work this way. It most definatly would not be acceptable in my industry.
Put simply all I want is for you to fix my car and return it to me ASAP. You are going to have to accept that after six weeks you have a disatisfied customer and no amount of explanations is going to change that.

I have never dealt with a firm before who have got things right from the very start. My car went in for repair and I was contacted at all stages, keeping me informed of any delays, and when I was going to get my car back. These unsolicited contacts and my conversations with several members of the repair centre concerned left me in no doubt that they were well trained. I used Nationwide through my insurance claim and was very impressed with the efficiency of the office staff,mechanics and the recovery driver. Nationwide arranged to meet me on 2 occasions, where my car hire was arranged in order to suit my needs and timescales. We have looked into your complaint regarding the time delays of your repair. Again, please accept our apologies for the frustration and inconvenience. However, there are several reasons for the delays, which were totally beyond our control and which you may not be aware of. Firstly, it was 3 weeks before we received authorisation for the repairs, from your insurance company. The estimate was sent to them the day we received your vehicle but until we receive authorisation from them, we are unable to begin the repairs. We would not have contacted you during this time as there would be nothing to tell you. Secondly, the repairs were extensive, and were estimated to take 15 days. There were also some minor parts delays which again, we cannot control. I hope that you now have a better understanding of why your repairs took such a long time and accept that we have tried very hard to repair your vehicle to the highest standard as quickly as is possible under the circumstances. We do however, acknowledge your comments. Should you wish to discuss the matter in any more detail, please contact the manager of the Tamworth centre.

I found Nationwide Repair Center very good, they kept me informed as to how things were going. I was directed to this repair centre by my insurers. The last two times I have had to use a repair centre for my wifes car were not pleasant experiences. It wasn't my fault. The 6" x 6" gate post came out of nowhere and attacked my front passenger door. Luckily for us, Nationwide came to the rescue (a few days later once the post had been dealt with and the incident reported). This is where Nationwide's exemplary service kicked in. Having been involved in an accident which was not my fault and in a car with less than 4000 miles on the clock I was more than a little despondent. I have used nationwide crash repair centre in Hamilton serveral times to get my cars repaired. There for service is first class - from their friendly staff at reception to the high standard of work completed. I certainly will not think twice about using there services again! (read more)

I recently had the opportunity to have my car repaired at the Benfleet office of Nationwide crash repairs and in particular I dealt with a delightful lad. All through the process I was treated extremely well, every time that I had contact she was always very polite and courteous, I was keep informed as to the progress on my vehicle. I recently had an accident, and used the Nationwide Repair Centre in Chatham Kent, the repair on my car was excellent, and on collection they had cleaned it, and it looked like new. The main purpose of this review though is to commend them on their customer service skills, they always kept me updated, very polite and friendly, making what can be a stressful situation well less stressful.
