Good Points: -Cheap for the quality - Above average performance - Compact - Navy style trigger group -Safe-semi-auto - Cocking handle moves, but does not pull back the bolt, nor does anything. - Easy hop up adjustment (will go into further description in the review). - Comes with battery and charger and bbs on most sites - Hicaps' wheel is thick and big, so users with gloves this is a plus! - Battery installation is surprisingly easy, but battery space is limit to a either 8.4 1100 mah battery or a 9.6 600 mah - Stock fps is high

Bad Points: - Selector switch is cheaply made, a slight push and the gun is in full auto, no real "clicking" into place as those on the higher end AEGs - Rear sight is close to the real steel but is a tad bit different, the smaller apertures are basically useless and doesn't benefit the shooter - Cocking handle does not pull back a dust cover as seen on ICS or CA mp5. The cocking handle is there for show, and can be HK slapped although not recommended - Had to clean the barrel out of the box, the barrel had some kind of glue substance in mine - Magazine release seemed loose or weak - Plastic body, except on RIS versions - Stock seems flimsy

General comments: This review is on the JG/Echo 1 (mine had the echo 1 symbol scratched out, but clearly visible to the naked eye that it was made by Echo 1). Most mp5 made by JG are sold for usually about 120 including charger and battery and usually up to 5000 bbs. For those who are new and are avoiding spending anything above 100 dollars on a gun, do not let the price fool you. You are better off spending 120 and then having a great time with your gun for more then 5 months depending on how you abuse it/take care of it. Do not settle for the CYMA, although CYMA has been building its reputation, the least you could do for yourself is buying yourself a JG and getting good quality, especially for the price. Do not get me wrong parts of the gun will break, but most that do on the JG that I have encountered have no affect on the guns performance. For 120 or even less depending on where you look, the quality of the gun is above average. It does not beat CA or ICS or TM for that matter, but will still get the job done, and can compete against the top brands. For those who have the 300+ to spend, I recommend any of the brands i suggested before (CA TM ICS). For those who are looking for a MP5 are probably people who are looking for a compact gun and this is just that. Even when the stock is fully extended it is smaller then my M4 and a tad bit shorter then my G36 with its stock folded. The MP5A5 has the navy style trigger group and is not like the G3 or the older Mp5 model trigger group. For those who love small detail on their guns, the MP5 comes with a movable cocking handle. This can be locked back and then "HK" slapped forward. Although this is not recommended mine has not snapped off and I've at least done it 50 times. For those who are familiar with the Ca, TM, and ICS MP5 the user would have to pull the cocking handle back to get to the hop up chamber, but on the JG is actually on the left side of the gun is more of a lever. To push forward or backward, to adjust the hop up. This is easy for the average user, but during hardcore play, you may find it moving around by catching on to pouches/vests/etc. For 120 you can get the battery and charger and bbs which are the necessities of the AEG (don't forget to buy 100 percent silicone lube). This makes buying the JG cheaper then having to buy everything separate for the TM and the CA (I have seen ICS guns sold with the charger and battery and bbs). The magazine to the JG is a hi capacity 200 round magazine. This is like any other magazine but this magazine wheel is bigger then the average gun. This makes it easier for the user, and especially if they are using gloves. To be honest, the battery installation was a breeze and was surprising. In the past i have gotten so frustrated with batteries that were kept in the forgrip because of the lack of space, but with the JG and the battery that came with it, it was secured and it did not rattle around. Although the battery was a breeze getting in there, anything higher then a 8.4 1100 mah was a pain to attempt to get in. For those who want a higher voltage, please use a 9.6 600 mah battery. For the price you pay the fps on the mp5 is surprisingly high. It is around 340-350 which allows the user to use .25 without having his gun to have short range or slow fps. *The fps isn't what should justify the gun, TM AEG shoot at 270-280 and are extremely well made* Now to the bad, first off is the selector switch. This is cheaply made and may fall off. Mine did within the first day but can be easily tightened and that should fix the problem. Also the selector switch can be moved from safe to full auto in the matter of a split second. It is extremely loose, and can be a hazard to anyone really. I thought i had the gun on safe and when i tapped the trigger and the gun shot. The rear site replicates the real steel version but is a tad bit different. There is about 2 apertures that are usable and the rest are too small to even see through. My mp5 had gunk in the barrel. It was able to shoot but it was like glue in the barrel and caused inaccurate shots. After cleaning and using lube for some reason it dissolved or cleaned itself, the gun shot like a dream. The magazine release was loose and feels like itll come off sooner or later. The body is plastic making it extremely light which can be taken as a good thing(i myself look for the most realistic replica, except when reviewing for my friends like in this case) Last but not least the stock is retractable and has more then 3 positions to lock into. But unfortunately the stock does feel flimsy, like if you could bend the stock or break it really. To sum up the JG Mp5A5, i would like to say this is a great gun for the price, and for those who are looking for casual skirmishes and backyard plinking this is highly recommended. Internals can be upgraded but you may need to buy an external battery pouch to run upgrades on. I am very pleased with this gun, and although I have had some trouble with the gun, I recommend this to anyone not just new people but veterans who are looking for a cheap aeg that will last.
