Just spent the day at linton zoo and had he best day. met the lemurs with Mikey which was the absolute highlight he was really knowledgeable and made the experience great. Lots of other animals brought out for a real hands on experience. Had a baked potato in cafe which was lovely and very welcome. would definitely visit again. Only addition i would like to see is some anti bacterial handwash near to where you meet animals otherwisw you have to keep trekking over to the car park to the toilets. (read more)

We had a fantastic day out at Linton Zoo, Great value for money with every member of the family young to old really enjoying themselves. In a great location easily accessibly from the M11 Linton Zoo has an amazing variety of Animals in very natural wild-like surroundings (I loved the Lions the best) Very helpful friendly staff happy to answer any questions. The kids really enjoyed asking about the Animals habitat and characteristics and I'm sure will return back to school next week passing... (read more)

Thank you for such a lovely day with our 3 grandchildren. The 3rd time we've visited. We don't normally visit zoo's but Linton is the exception. Having come away from other zoos feeling very sad and never wanting to repeat the experience, what a pleasure to come to Linton. The animals look so healthy and happy, and in such beautiful natural surroundings. The breeding programme throughout the zoo is very impressive. Wow! Home bred lions being sent to Uganda. Now, you can't better that,... (read more)

We were greeted with a warm welcome (on a cold day) and got to meet some animal inhabitants before walking through the main doors. A large array of animals in good enclosures that have great visability. (read more)

I recently visited Linton Zoo with my partner and our two young sons (aged 1 and 3). We had a fantastic day even though the weather wasn't great. Max, our 3 year old loved the 'hands-on' experience with the reptiles at the Animal Experiences. We spent ages trying to mimic the kangaroos and learning about the more exotic animals (I'd never met a tapir before). Our 1 year old was amazed by the parrots and spent the whole time screeching with delight. The animals living condition were... (read more)

I took my son to Linton Zoo as a treat and in his words he had "the best day ever". We saw so many animals that we had never seen before and learnt so much. We also did the lemur experience and spent half an hour feeding the lemurs and learning all about them from our lovely helper, Patricia. We really couldn't have had a better time. My other children are now very jealous and we will all be returning very soon. Staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to give us a lovely time.... (read more)

What a lovely day out. I came to Linton Zoo with friends, and we had a great day. We went into the quaint little cafe first to have a coffee, before we went round the zoo. We were amazed on howuch there was to see, from big cats, lemurs, reptiles, birds and lots more, a very enjoyable day, and great value for money. We decided to have lunch in the cafe before heading home. What a fab lunch, the Jacket spuds were the best we had ever tasted, with plenty of filling, the service was excellent,... (read more)

We were blown away by this enchanting little zoo. Not too big for the children to get around. Not commercial or expensive. So intimate, the animals were happy, clean and tame. Great interactive sessions with some of the animals and their very friendly and knowledgeable keepers. Amazingly close enclosures with perfect views of the animals. I would support and recommend this wonderful place every time. We loved it. (read more)

I visited this zoo today with my mother and two children, my son is 3 and my daughter is 14 months. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this lovely little zoo, we have been to bigger zoos and have found the animals can be difficult to see and are often miles apart, this zoo was just perfect for little legs and how amazing to get such a good view of the animals. My son also loved the dinosaurs dotted around the zoo! We will definately be back!! (read more)

As a family we have been visiting Linton Zoo since our eldest daughter was 4. Now 20 and on a visit home from Uni she asked if we could spend the day at Linton because of all the happy memories she had. What a fantastic day we enjoyed. The weather was exceptional and showed the spring flowers off throughout the gardens at their best. As it is a small zoological garden it is easy to cover and take in at your own peaceful pace. The animals reflect this and seem tranquil and relaxed and afford... (read more)

Linton Zoos is one the funnest zoos I have ever been too! It is a small zoo but they have a large variety of animals everything from small animals like rabbits to Lions and tigers. Not to mention the many different types of very adorable and happy lemurs. I will definitely be coming back in the future and hope to maybe do the Zoo Keeper experience. (read more)

I have visited Linton Zoo on a number of occasions over the past few years and as of today purchased an annual pass. I find it very difficult to see how anyone could critisies the zoo or staff members, as in my experiences I have never encountered any problems with either. I frequently speak with the keepers and can safely say that they are a very friendly bunch and the lady in the cafeteria is very friendly, with a menu intended to provide healthier option meals. Yes there are a few... (read more)

we go to linton zoo regular and have enjoyed it everytime the animals are well cared for and theres some real characters "obey" being the star would of never thought we'd spend so much time watching her but she has a very special and facinating personality and along with walter the hand reared kangeroo if you take your time to appreciate them and not just look and walk you'll be suprised by how friendly the animals are here. the zoo is run with a family atmosphere and nothing is too much for... A lovely little zoo, great value for money. The was plenty to look at but its good in that you can get round the place in about 1.5 hrs. The staff were freindly and the toilets were clean. I would agree that the Cafe is basic as is the shop - perhaps if zoo staff are reading this it may be time to build a new visitor centre as once this is done, I would be rating it as five stars, so long as the price doesn't go up too much. We took our mum for a Zoo Keepers Day. It was FANTASTIC. The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Mikey. My mum was not that able bodied but they catered for everything.
We shall be coming again very soon.
Thank you all so much for making my mums dream come true.

At just £7.50 for adults and £5 for children (2010 prices), Linton Zoo in Cambridgeshire really does pack a lot in, from beetles, binturongs and tortoises to big cats, zebras and tapirs, and one of the finest collections of rare lemurs in the U.K. Big cats here include four out of the five species (lion, tiger, leopard and snow leopard - only the jaguar is absent). On the bird section, owls, parrots and hornbills are a speciality. Ideally you should allow at least 2.5 to 3 hours to do the... (read more)

I too am really surprised at negative reviews about Linton Zoo. We travelled from Brighton as my husband was working nearby, and thought Linton Zoo was an amazing place. You are able to get so close to the animals, unlike the bigger zoos such as London or Marwell. The staff are wonderful, and so passionate about the animals and the work they do. We loved the kangaroo- he came right up to the fence and was sniffing my children to their delight! My eldest son loved the tapirs and the talk was... (read more)

Wow what a find! After having read some of the reviews I was curious but we had the most fantastic day. Weather was a bit drizzly on and off (not the best weather to visit a zoo) but the sun broke out and we spent most of the day going round and round, each time we saw something which had been asleap of hiding earlier. The staff were so friendly and informative and the talks were brilliant especially for the children, our favourite was the creature feature when the owls were flying and later... (read more)

I had a fantastic day out here with my two young children, the zebras were galloping about their field and the lion cubs were bombing around their enclosure, we could have watched them for hours. The staff were all very friendly, good food in the coffee shop and a very reasonable admission fee. The Secret Garden play area for under 5's was a little muddy, but the kids had a wonderful time. The zoo has obviously chosen to stay small and avoid going commercial like many of the larger zoos, but... (read more)

The Zoo is set amongst fantastic gardens which gives a great view of the animals, watching a leopard with all sorts of exotic trees and flowers around you was brilliant.
The animals all looked in great condition and enjoying themselves even if it was sleeping for the adult lions! ;)
Great enclosures showing plenty of enrichment and things to do for the animals.I would rate their Rare Lemur Breeding Centre as one of the best in the country.

Fantastic zoo, the enclosures were suited to each animals need all of whom seemed perfectly content. The information signs were clear and interesting, the gardens were beautiful and great play areas for the children. With the Linton Zoo admission fee being that cheap compared to other zoos I was a bit apprehensive, but I'm so glad I went, infact I brought an annual pass and booked a keeper experience! Absolutely great value for money. (read more)

Every time you go there are new and interesting things to do. It is varied and exciting to visit and I would visit it over and over. There are often babies which run and play in front of the visitors. Talks are interesting and informative. I would visit here any day of the week. I would love to work here. It is a wonderful and interesting atmosphere with a friendly and happy team of workers. I love the tapiers the best! The babies are the sweetest!! (read more)

Well, we also love the zoo in our family. When I first had baibes a wise women told me to take my kids to the zoo because it is such a wonderful multi-sensory experience. You can see, smell, hear & touch plants & animals. It's a great learning place- for everyone from little baibes to really old baibes. That same wise lady usually gets our family a zoo pass, so we have been to several zoos in our travels. So, the only zoo that I know of that rivals San Diego (both in my opinion & in the polls) is the Columbus Zoo. It's a Jack Hanna Zoo with about 7000 animals. (San Diego has just over 4000.) You don't find more than that unless they are counting aquariums. Another great zoo is the National Zoo (DC). I also really like the Cleveland Zoo. It's actually amazing to me how much better the zoos are in the east. (More taxes, I guess.) However, I do think the Oakland Zoo & SF Zoo are pretty good now they they have make some improvements. Here are some other good zoos you should check out if you get the chance: Pittsburgh, Philly, Bronx, Phoenix, Cincinnati. (I also hear the Indy Zoo is good, never been there.) Another zoo that I want to go to is the one in Chicago (called by another name). There are also some great aquariums & zoo like places, like Sea World, that are amazing. Have Fun!
