Having cruised with several cruise lines we were lead to believe that Holland America was the best. We sailed on the Statendam and we thought the ship was tired and worse for wear. It was clean but had signs of age with corroded metal around some of the window frames. Wardrobe doors in our cabin were hanging off. The staff were very good and extremelly helpful and polite. the organization on board was awful, the buffet system where you have to que then give your order, then find a table and wait for your food gives you very little choice of food,service was awful. we would never sail with Holland America again
