Nokia 6510 - It wa the second Nokia phone I owned. I chose the brown one as I felt the black one was awful. The phone has rather useful and good functions except that it gets a little unstable when there are many items stored in the calendar and archive and folders. The handshaking welcome animation goes off after I start saving quite a lot of things in the above-mentioned functions. The radio function is very useful, but the reception of the radio functions seems to be quite lousy at places, even where there's open ground. Value was quite good until colour screen phones appeared.

This Nokia 6510 is higly recommended by me ...... i use my latop (IrDA port)to surf internet and orginize my nokia mobile phone. Battery life it to good. Up to 6-7 days and talk time is a little shy of three hours, which seems perfect for a user like me.

I bought the Nokia 6510 phone recently from the leading cellular network in my country at a very good price (40% lesser when it was first introduced in the market) with a seal still intact and with an aroma of fresh from the factory. In fact there are many Nokia non-color handsets to choose from at a lower price but I picked this one from the rest 'coz it really appeals me. Obviously, the company is quite in a hurry to dispose this kind of phones from their inventory. Well, color phones had been selling like hotcakes since 1st quarter of this year leaving behind non-color phones from a good distance. But anyway it's a matter of individual's choice and how useful the phone for him/her.
But unfortunately no picture and tone composer in this phone. Messaging is limited to 160 characters only. I don't blame Nokia, for its small size, the circuit board can not accomodate extra chips for this added features. Though it's a business phone but Nokia, intentionally perhaps, did not produce this as tri-band phone. If all these features had been added, it's really a big bang phone. Covers are more stable than the 8310. SIM slot location was not carefully considered by Nokia whereas if you are a careless person, when changing SIM card, you could snap off the battery terminal easily and could cost you dearly for parts replacement. I don't know if Nokia is really on real big bucks from after sales services than phone purchases itself.
The only thing that's so irritating in this phone is the wallet feature. I don't know if it's the design of this feature or just having a plain bugs in it. The first time I opened this feature it prompts me to enter the new wallet code (it confirms the instruction in the user manual) and eventually punched my secret code. Well it made me happy and stored my bank codes and other sensitive informations. Days passed and I again accessed this feature to add another information. To my horror the feature kept screaming "wrong code entered" though I'm definitely sure I entered the correct code. Many times I tried but the same response. In my frustration I again read the user manual and fortunately Nokia is kind enough to provide the code number that would enable to reset the feature (perhaps they have anticipated this problem). But the saddest part of it is that it will erase all the data and information you have entered once you've executed this action! All your efforts and time will be thrown out of the window. I don't know but I seem to have rectified the problem. I realized that when I switched the speech codec to HR, FR, or EFR or changed my depleted battery with my extra full charged battery it will somehow affect the feature. It could no longer recognize the secret code I programmed before. But it should not be like this. A phone should be stable regardless of changing the battery or switching the speech codec if necessary whereas I travelled a lot to remote places and the reception varies at certain areas and no power source most of the time to recharge. Only one thing I am certain, it has bugs. Nokia people are not so helpful, as usual, and lacks technical knowledge to give you some light of your problems. Luckily I'm resourceful.
Overall the phone is excellent, just forget the wallet. It's a Joker.

This is one of the best phones I have ever owned! This phone is a pleasure to own, it is so small. Unlike other nokia phones, this one stands out because not so many people own one. The blue screen looks smart. Apart from a small bug (that occasionally causes it to reset itself) This phone has had no problems. I would definently recommend it.

I copied my phonebook from the phone to my sim card and not all numbers was transfer to the sim. I have a total of 150 number and only 96 was copied. My sim can store upto 250 numbers. I tried to test it using another sim but got the same result. After discharging the battery and recharge it for about 8 hrs while the phone is off, the phone clock is no longer synchronize. This phone is not that perfect!!

Well this is a very good phone for someone who doesn't want to spend the extra money for the trendy Nokia models like 8310,7210 -in the end what is the use for MMS at the moment or the colour screen? If you disagree with that and you don't mind spending a lot,go for 7210. Otherwise 6510 is fabulous

With its features, this Nokia 6510 mobile phone is better than my previous Nokia 6150, 8210 and 8250. Looks are always subjective but to me, it's not a great looker especially in dark blue. Small and light, it sits in my shirt pocket most of the day. GPRS is great and works well with the Palm 515 I have. Using the Palm 515 enables me to get colour rather than using the monochrome screen. Interestingly, the Palm recognised the 6510 infrared with the 8250 settings saving set-up time for the new phone.

Overall, I went from a 3310 to the Nokia 6510 and no disappointment except the Composer is no longer on the phone. This is very annoying. I know it comes on the free Nokia CD ROM but i've had to pay £16 for a data cable to use this.
Not bad I guess, But still an excellent phone.

Overall, this Nokia 6510 is a very good mobile phone. I have had it for a month now and I love it. Radio quality is great too.
But, I guess, Nokia needs to make the menu navigation more user friendly and fast.

I only got my Nokia 6510 mobile phone a few days ago. It is by far the best phone i've had, including the Nokia 8310. It looks great and is so easy to use.

This Nokia 6510 mobile phone is tiny and light like the 8310, but it has a more classic style, which means it appeals to more than just teenagers. I recently got this phone (two weeks ago), and i'm really happy with it! I think it's one of the nicest looking phones on the market today. So far i haven't had any real problems with it and because the style of the phone is simple and classic i'm less likely to go off it. For me the phone has too many features, many which I don't use (like the wallet function), and these unnecessary features have made the 6510 more expensive than it could have been.

The Nokia 6510 is a great mobile phone, I well recommend buying it. Be you older, younger, professional or just as a everyday phone.

The Nokia 6510 mobile phone is the smaller version of the 6210, only it got better! With its built in FM radio and GPRS feature, what more can you ask for in a business phone.

This Nokia 6510 is a great mobile phone! Its radio/voice recorder features are clever. The best phone i've had yet.

Hi... I've got a question that has been stuck in my mind for almost about a year. Since you said this phone is better than an 8310, I assume you've had an 8310. Anyway, I'm only 14 years old and from July, I've been saving up my allowance to buy a 6510. However, I couldn't make up my mind wether I should buy a 6510 or 8310. My friends say I should get an 8310 'cuz it has a younger look, but some of my friends say I should get a 6510 because of its features. To me, the looks and features count, but now I can't figure out what I want. In your opinion, please tell me what I should get. Thank you.
