I took out my United from the cellar, and it is still working very well.I bought it some 5 years ago at a Rimi store here in Norway. And thanks - it is zone free so I can see photocd`s from my family, - which I cant on my Pioneer DVR -930 H-S 400GB disc, and in addition plays only zone 2, and will not even allow me to store an old Elvis song. That Pioneer was the worst thing I ever bought in my life.

The United DVD 1951 dvd player is very cheap.
I bought this player from RIMI in Norway. Before, I had an Oritron dvd200 diamond. The United player is much better. And the control works very well.
    The design is very good.
The player can also get upgrade (flash).

Resume - after 1 month use of the United DVD 1951 DVD player.
This player is worth the money (and was sold out quick) at the RIMI-market. It's possibile to buy simular players from the brand UNITED for about 1500 NOK - so THIS one was very cheap for it's 990NOK.

    It's code-free (tested it with a DVD sone 1).
Perhaps you can use the hack for UNITED 2255 player
locatet at http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayershack.php?select=U nited%20DVD%202255. if you want a disired sone.

    For the remote: They ...

I've had no problems with my United DVD 1951 DVD player.
I've had it for 1 month now. And I'm very pleased.
Now I got Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS. And a good picture on my TV.
Of course any Stereo/HIFI/Movie freak can say: "It's not bad, but you can get better". Of course you can get better, for a lot more money. I think the sound and picture quality is VERY good for the price you pay.
I like good sound and a clear picture and now I'm pleased.

The United DVD 1951 is a very cheap DVD-player (990 NoK). The remote control is not of the best kind, but if you aim a bit high, it works out well!
The digital updating on screen is not of the best, but it is no problem.

Yes, I got my United DVD 1951 DVD player at RIMI-supermarket too!
    Play's almost everything!
Most impressed I'm at playing picture-CD's (with JPEG).
No other player offers that so fare.
    minus
-for the colour (I would prefer BLACK)
and some problems playing CD's with many MP3's/dir's
(Best to select them in SmartNAVI=ON)

I got this United DVD 1951 DVD player for two reasons, it's cheap (990NOK=$115) and it plays VCD, SVCD, MP3, JPG and all DVDs. I was kinda fearful because of the brand, United, as I've only known them to have really low quality products. It's been a few years since I bought anything from them though so they might have gotten their act together. I think the remote is good, I have no problems with it at all and I don't think the buttons look cheap like another reviewer thought. I've tried to play ...

Picked this United DVD 1951 DVD player up for an amazing $100 (new in box) because it was so cheap. Has all the normal features, no region code (thus no need to do any tricks to make it work) so you can just put whatever region into it, plays vcd, svcd, mp3, Kodak picture cds, audio cds, cd-r's and cd-rw's. Has SVIDEO, SCART and composite out. Also has coaxial digital audio output.

Bottom line is, there is NO way you can get a better value for your money.
