We had their VOIP service installed in Feb 2014. From the outset there were issues. The line carrying the data for our phones has failed numerous times and we had to tell them when it was failing. As with other articles here, there is NO support. They consistently blame our local infrastructure as it couldn't possibly be their platform. The bottom line here is due to them being greedy, they have loads of these companies selling PPI to people on their network - which then falls over as it can't deal with diallers. They promise to remove these companies but never follow through - funny that. They would rather profit from volume and put smaller customers out of business as they can't communicate properly. They've just been bought by a company called Timico so hopefully they will get rid of all the dross - including the network and actually start providing a service that Coms should have provided in the first instance. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!

I was an ADSL24 customer for about 7 years. Absolutely loved the company, the staff were always very professional and the level of service that they provided left nothing for me to complain about. I would not have moved away but one day coms.com took over and I was forced to. The problems started quite literally on that very same day. From the outset everything started to fail - constant disconnections together with the routine excuse of "Oh, it can't be our super modern network, it must be your router". Telecomms engineers visited the house - no fault found, slow speeds when I was connected (had one guy blame it on the weather - I kid you not) and in general their first line so-called support staff are some of the most poorly trained and bad mannered that I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. Oh, and of course, coms.com are traffic shaping. I can't believe that I lasted nearly a year but as of today I am free of them. Good riddance.

I was with ADSL24 before coms took them over. I pay over the odds monthly internet for a set amount of peak download usage and unlimited off peak. I did not even use a fraction of my allocated allowance yet they throttled me during the evenings (I went from a 40 meg download speed to less than 3 meg, latency from 15 to 223....). They refused to remove it, kept quoting their contract which they seem to insist they can change your contract, speed, internet usage without consulting you. Currently in the process of taking my case through the Ombudsman. Avoid coms at all costs save yourself from their pathetic "lack of" service.

When difficulties arose with my service, you expect to log a support call and it be resolved. When it becomes fairly apprently they are either unable / unwilling or both to resolve the issue and then proceed to drag it out irrespective of the damage it causes your business you begin to wonder. In the end I gave up after giving them months to resove the issues. If you look at their web site you will see their expansion and acquisiton that they have undertaken, gobbling up smaller companies and ruining their reputation. I can't recommend AVOIDING THEM them enough.

Support is hopeless, nothing gets resolved - just avoid or leave...

As a former ADSL24 Broadband customer who has been migrated to Coms I feel that the company has reneged on their initial claims that there would be absolutely no changes to our terms and conditions and they have now started traffic management to the point I am actually using my phone as a hotspot to make this review as I cant use it at 21:26 on a Tuesday. They have removed email, introduced throttling and their customer service gives you the feeling they dont want you there. I get it so I am moving on. I am sad about it cos I wanted them to prove they would keep to their word - they didn't!

Throttling is now such an issue with COMS that I am leaving. There are many reviews already here about this. The service just keeps getting worse. When there are problems, there is no contact with customers. They will only tell you that they have a problem if you call them and ask them what's going on.

Coms plc bought my previous ISP ADSL24, with whom I had had absolutely exemplary service for many years, both in terms of the ADSL itself, as well as support whenever I needed any help. Coms destroyed everything good about ADSL24 and ran the service into the ground within 3 months of taking over. High pings, low throughput, terrible packet loss, failing DNS, useless support, the list goes on and on. Realising fairly early on where this was going, and being reliant on my internet connection since I work from home, I requested a MAC to migrate out to another provider. This only lead to more problems: first I was given a MAC that had already been used, then I was told I had to wait 30 days before they could generate me another (which presumably also had a chance of being used), then finally when I did extract myself from their terrible infrastructure by cutting them out of the loop and getting a MAC from their underlying supplier, they failed to pay back outstanding monies I was owed. All of this while charging premium prices for an absolute bottom of the barrel product. Seriously, by a HUGE margin, the worst ISP I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with, and I used to be with Freedom2Surf, so that's saying something. AVOID!

I was with ADSL24 for many years with excellent speeds, yes this was at a cost but I was happy to pay this for the service I received. Since ADSL24 were bought out by coms.com the speed has dropped to that of dial up. I would definitely NOT recommend coms.com The claims that a small percentage of users are hogging the network so they have had to introduce traffic management does nothing for those of that were with ADSL24 for years and got top notch speeds. I am still paying the same price but now get 25k downloads. These guys are a joke. If this review stops only 1 person signing up with them I will be very happy. Don't waste your time (you'll have lots to spare trying to download anything at 25k) go elsewhere and get a better product at a better price.

Running a service company we were sold this "great" VOIP service. This is a warning to all, DO NOT USE, again today we have no phones, even the divert function is not working so NO ONE can call us, I dread to think how much business we have lost by using them, if people can't call you they will not use you, thanks Coms.com. Three months in this is the 6th complete failure of services. Going back to BT before we go out of business!

i came to coms when they took over adsl24 (who were awesome) coms.com are a joke. they now employ traffic management which drops my 17mb connection to just 35kb/s (yes that's correct 35kb/s) if i try to download anything at off peak times other than around 6.30am - 7.30am when i may just get full speed for one small download. i'm taking my custome elsewhere and i would advise everyone to stay well clear. to a family of very low users there's just no way we should be being penalised for a minoruity of heavy users...it's an insult! AVOID

worst Internet provider I have ever been with! Slow connection, throttled down to dial-up speeds even in their off-peak hours. Customer service is patchy. Surfing/email browsing is so slow, video streaming useless. Coms prioritise VOIP so everything is intentionally slowed to a crawl, so unless you use voip then go elswhere. This worse than Tiscali ever was, there are far better and cheaper iSP`s out there In a sentence "avoid at all costs"

Throttle the hell out of your connection, makes it almost unusable. Not recommended at all... There are cheap and infinitely better suppliers out there.

If it worked, it would be a very nice product. The trouble is that after weeks of endless emails and phone calls to support, we still don't have a working telephone. It has been problem after problem after problem. And we only have one telephone we are trying to get to work! To be fair to support, they do generally reply quickly and are (usually) easy to get hold of. But that is no consolation to the endless frustrations that we have and are still experiencing. If it does work in the end, we will be happy to come back on here and update the review.

We are using Coms since 2010 - we have decided to try to run our company lines with them - unfortunately nobody has explained to us that VOIP lines will not works with BT or VIRGIN routers!!! Its a shame as one of my lines is offline since 9 months now and after hundreds of emails and calls to COMS my problem is still unsolved. They have recommended to send me a router with pre-config to work with Virgin modem - also Coms asked me to pay for this (!!!!) - finally when I've received my new router I've realised that this isn't working at all. Sending emails, calls - lack of response. No one to blame and no one to take responsibility for faults and not working product. I've contacted support again today and I'm waiting till tomorrow for my system to be fully working - otherwise I'm moving all my services to other company! NIne months ??? ABSURD!

Yes, throttling is so bad right now and I totally agree with your comments. I am migrating to Xilo and Coms seemed pretty happy I was leaving cos I am/was an ADSL24 customer and they hate us. Since I advised coms of my intended move it feels like the throttling is worse but that could just be paranoia.
Avoid like the plague.
