i just got one of these advent 1115c in for repair a friend bought it less than 8 months ago and the screen cracked pc world said it was through miss use but my friend assures me it just split when he went to close the lid. I'V just striped the outer cover off the tft screeen for removal and i have to say that the covers and casing is of very poor quality and badly put together

I love my Advent 1115c but I wouldn't recommend buying one, when it works properly it runs amazingly, and displays graphics perfectly.. Unfortunately, i have had a lot of problems with this particular machine. I have not had mine 5 months yet and its not worked properly for most of that time, it overheats constantly but this is a general notebook problem.. it sometimes doesn't power up, and I have not had a functioning DVD drive due to its poor construction for most of the time I have had it.. Overall Advent 1115C is a very good laptop and a bargain as I got mine refurbished for £290 at Dixons online and it has not failed or froze once. It says that the laptop has a 120 gig hard drive but you only get about 100 gig after vista has been installed. I recommend this laptop because it is high performance cheap and reliable.

I'm a web designer and very fussy with performance but the Advent 1115C laptop performs very well, and for the price you can't go wrong unless you like playing recourses draining games. Vista works very well but can be slow at some times - not the hardware's fault, but I have started to like vista very much, I couldn ' t imagine going back to xp. If xp was installed on this laptop it would run like a dream. Go for it you will not be dissapointed
