Plenty of activities during the day. Don't book trip at every stop - do own thing in Rovinj and Zadar at least. Venice and Dubrovnic very tiring especially if hot so take it easy on days either side. If going to St Mark's church in Venice go there straight away and try to get a free guided tour - well worth it. If you want to change tables in the restaurant you must do so by the second night of the cruise. Everyone made an effort on the formal night but tuxedos are not needed for men, a suit... (read more)

Sad it's the last year the Emerald sails with THOMSON, the entertainment on board has always been excellent with the staff working hard each evening given first class performances. The cabin staff has always been curtious and helpful, the bar waiters and waitresses always charming and willing to oblige, especially one whom we met on our 1st trip. I found this review unhelpful because it is a subjective view based on lack of research by the reviewer. As her husband is a diabetic they should have booked a cruise on a ship were food is available 24/7. They obviously did not do so and perhaps this soured the reviewer's view of the Emerald.
