Ship is clean and beautiful. You get real excited walking onto ship....then I we all felt we had to keep our hands on our wallets (figurative). We have all travelled many cruise lines. NEVER have we felt TOTALLY RIPPED OFF like we did on NCL. If they could charge your to breathe they would. You pay tips per day then they charge more tips per drinks. Everything costs you more money once you get on board. Only 3 restaurants are free and the are cheap buffet style. Excursions cost 2x what you can get elsewhere! Everything is a rip off. Entertainment..a joke. My local high school has better entertainment. When we got our shipboard bill at end of trip I felt RAPED. Save your money and go anywhere else!

Being quite a seasoned traveller i had read many reviews about JADE so went on board alittleapprehensive, only to find i loved the ship,Yes the decor is a little brash but i found the Hawaain influence added to the ships ambience I found the food ok but not as good or varied as i had had on previous ships, alsothe entertainment was a bit lacking ,athough i still enjoyed thefew shows i saw. The drinks /tours.shops on board all over priced but i think this goes for most sipping lines ,The crew/sta ...

We went on this ship Norwegian Jade to the Med. and cannot fault the staff as they were friendly and helpful. As for the extras added on to every drink even soft drinks added up to too much money. I was looking forward to the Spinning classes in the Gym, but as it would have been $12 a session that was out,
Maybe some tourists are used to being ripped off but this company really takes the biscuit. The entertainment was on the cheap as the guests were pulled into entertain as in reality shows. On ...

This was my sixtenth cruise, this time have opted to NCL from Southampton to Mediteranean, left Southampton on the 9th August have chosen an outside balcony cabin, the ship cabin was always clean and made up very well thought a bit smaller than average, entertainment was poor mainly one man show, the staff I met were all polite, regarding the food the buffet was evarage but the main dining food was quite poor, last night me and my wife had upset stomach, my wife been vomitting all night long so ...

Just returned from 14 day trip to Mediterranean from Southampton. Very easy to access the Terminal from downtown Southampton. Norwegian Jade Crew excellent came accross as very efficient. The extra's on board are similar to the previous cruises we have taken. Namely expensive spa, overpriced duty free, examples boxes of Liquorice Allsorts $12 chocolate and candies at well above store prices. Tours wayover priced. Bad points include the pool area becoming a kids playground with parents ignoring ...

Well well well, Norwegian Jade. We travelled as a family of ten, we live near Leeds, West Yorkshire. We have sailed out of Southampton on serveral occasions, we have always driven to Southampton the day before the ship departs, which I would always advise, we have departed late many a time when accidents have happend on the motorway and people have being late to the docks or even missed the ship, but this time for the Norwegian Jade we decided to drive down the day the ship left for the simple r ...

my wife and I have just returned from a 10 day cruise on the Norwegian Cruise Line Jade. overall we enjoyed our holiday and being experienced cruisers and having sailed with Norwegian before knew what to expect. the ship is spotlessly clean and the colours are very bright indeed in most public lounges. the shows on board are of a good standard in the main and the food in the two main restaurants was nicely served by very friendly waiters and the quality and choice was good. there is also the gar ...

Sailed from Barcelona in May 2009 on the Norwegian Cruise Line, Norwegian Jade and felt ports of call were interesting, offering a broad cross-section of the Med. Recommend booking a balcony or bigger if cruise has extended "sea time" and to receive better room/maid service.

Took a 10 day cruise on the Norwegian Jade in March. Liked the cabin and some of the food. I am an older traveller and like to read and play bridge with other guests. The library and card rooms are a joke. Next time I take a cruise, I will go back to Holland American who knows how to look after older travellers.

Embarkation: Flew to Barcelona airport (arrived 12.15) and got a taxi to ship (its about 40 euros for two with cases) Plenty of taxis at airport. Check in was quick and we were on the boat by 13.30. Food was available, and you could explore the ship. Could get into cabins just after 15.00, but cases took longer to arrive at cabin. But we were all unpacked etc by 17.00.
Accommodation: We had a cabin with balcony. It was compact but fine. Plenty of hangers etc. Bed very comfortable. Cleaned every ...

We were on the Norwegian Jade for Christmas and new year the staff are really helpfull and our cabin guy was great the food and entertainment was repetitive. There was no gala dinners at all. Day before leaving had a chocoholics buffet for one hour. All they want is to part you from your money, 55 dollars for a behind the scenes tour of the ship and dinner in Cagneys. When we asked about it said no dinner in Cagneys was a misprint. We had a good time your holiday is what you make it. Would not u ...

Excellent cruise that was shamefully let down by the ever worsening British culture of 'me first, families second!'. The staff, ship and itinerary as stated were first class and I would not deter anyone from traveling with Norwegian cruise lines. It is unfortunate that they will need to employ 'big baby minders', but I'm sure as with all other issues they will iron this out efficiently and quickly.

We have just returned from a 2 week Med cruise on the Norwegian Jade August 2008. First time cruisers in our 30's & maybe a little apprehensive of what to expect...absolutely no need to be! Both my husband & I really enjoyed the whole experience. Embarkation went like a dream, no queueing or confusion extremely well handled. The Norwegian Jade is a fabulous & impressive ship, well laid out & very tasteful (Not sure where others had been looking who commented negatively on the ships decor!?)

Have just returned from a two week cruise on the Jade which can only be described as a holiday camp on the sea. There were a 1000 children on board and most of them seemed to be left to form little gangs who ran around the ship and played in the lifts. The drinks were the most expensive we have encountered and we have done over 20 cruises before. We certainly would not go with NCL again. The shows were poor and were interrupted over and over again with late comers. The casino was filled with smo ...

I made some amazing friends on this cruise. All the girls were crying on the last night (we stayed together until at least 3 in the morning). There were parties everynight for the teen club (13-17 year olds) and they all had a different theme, for example, the Hollywood party, the White Hot Night Party, Costume Party, Masked Ball, I could go on and on. After every party (starting at 11:30pm every night), everyone would go to the Blue Lagoon which is the 24 hour restaurant to just relax, which wo ...

Management should provide all pax with evaluation forms at end of cruise. Many older pax may not have access to internet. In terms of equality of opportunity these policies and procedures should be reviewed to provide for 1st class customer service. All shuttle buses should be provided free of charge; it was an absolute fiasco. Excursions were overpriced and not enough cups in self service breakfast dining area.

I have just returned from a 2 week cruise on Jade with 4 teenagers. It was our first cruise and I had some misgivings but it was an exciting, exhilarating experience for us all. The informality might not suit older passengers wanting formal dining arrangements but it was ideal for us. Overall this was our best holiday ever!

    Where to start?

A large sum of money and a great deal of excitement were the build up to this two week Norwegian Jade cruise. Myself, partner and son had been looking forward to our holiday with great anticipation; we are not fussy holiday makers, just a young family hoping to make the most out of a stunning itinerary and a bit of luxury.

Unfortunately for us the whole trip was a nightmare from start to finish.

Upon arriving at Southampton, the valet parking was good and the complimentary gl ...

Well looking at the comments already given, they must have been on a different ship to me. We are a young modern family, we took my mum and dad who are in their 50s. We all had a great time visiting all the places in the Med. Food was to die for if you go you must try the cheesecake. We could eat when we wanted this suited us, very well priced, we will all go again.
We went on the Norwegian Jade on the 13 June 2008. ps enjoy

We came off the 2 night cruise today (13/7/2008) and we really did have a fantastic time. We love the Freestyle concept of cruising, and with children it really is the way to go. The staff on board were fantastic and are starting to get used to the British passengers. Late nights and late mornings !!! I am shocked at previous reviews , and I feel they did not research what they were booking and went purely on price. We feel we got value for money, and in return had more than what we paid for. I ...
