I've been with GameMine for about a year now, and I've had very little problems with them. I usually have about a hundred or so games in my queue, so I receive two games in a timely manner. My only problem is that their system seems to have random fifty dollar charges, and these are usually reversed in a day when you get a hold of their customer service. My other problem is their social media presence has disappeared. They used to interact with fans and actually have a voice, lately... (read more)

We signed up for this service as an less expensive alternative to gamefly. We put on our list a couple of games and was told the games were on a wait list. We tried to do other games with the same result. Need less to say we didn't get any games, so we opted to just cancel the membership. Well, lo and behold! Nowhere to really cancel. There is no phone number for customer service and we emailed numerous times to tell them to cancel and stop charging us. Nope! they did neither! Last month... (read more)

I looked at all the game trading sites and GameMine offered the best price. HOWEVER, DONT LET THEIR ALLURING PRICE REEL YOU IN. I was a sucker. I was drawn towards their prices and decided to trade in some old Nintendo DS Games. I am so glad that I didn't trade in good games... So I created an account, made a shipping label and packed everything just right to ship it. THEIR SHIPPING LABEL WAS WRONG. I ended up paying extra for shipping... Alright, so after GameFly would not accept my Chase card (claiming I was trying to use a prepaid visa card, which was not true), I was forced to accept an alternative. After reading some good reviews about GameMine, I decided to give them a try. I ordered the one-game-at-a-time option at first. I set up my account, and they shipped game #1. After waiting over a week for the game to arrive, I decided to give them a call. They answered the phone, and told me that the reason I did not recieve... (read more)

Traded in two games here. Got $33 and $37 (in credits) for MW3 and Skyrim respectively. Those are incredibly good prices! Really impressed, they even gave me $6.80 in shipping credits. I used the $76 in credits to purchase one game for right now and maybe another in the future. I don't have any experience with their rental service but the reviews seem to indicate they are making progress and you can't always blame the company for shipping times. Dear Gamer Guest,
We'd certainly would love to help you in this circumstance. However due to lack of information we are unable to give you specific details on how to properly resolve this feedback.
With the information that is present it seems that you were charged for not returning a damaged game back to us after seven days have passed. This is so we can inspect the damage in order to improve our shipment materials or attempt to recover the damaged game.
I'm sure by now we have received the game back and dropped the authorization on your account. However, if it has not, as soon as we have indication from our tracking software we automatically drop any outstanding authorizations on the account.
If you should have any further questions, never hesitate to ask we're more than willing to help and find a solution.
Best,

I made the mistake of not reading their policies before I signed up. Instead I saw the good price and jumped on the 2-at-a-time subscription. They don't send games at the top of the queue - they send whatever they feel like. Because of that I just put two discs in my queue. The very first round they sent me a disc that had a small chip broken out of it - sounded so bad in my xbox that I thought my xbox was broken. I went to report and return it and read that they will suspend your account if... (read more)

Dear daarong,
We do thank you for your interest in GameMine as we continually change and grow with the ever changing video game market and our online presence.
We certainly do agree, we do ask that all our members to be abreast of our current policies. You among everyone else that has signed up for our rental program and are GameMine members are asked before becoming an official member if you have read our terms of agreement. Upon entering our agreement you understand our policies and what can be expected of us.
We would like to offer explanation on how our queue or "picked list" works. Once a member has built a list of seven (7) released items on their picked list we then will ship the first avaliabl game on their picked list. It unfortunately may not always be the first game on our customer's queues. This is most often due to placing a highly sought game as their first choice. Our allocation software then will move onto a customer's next choice and until all avaliable options have been exhausted. Placing only two games on a queue is not recommended and will likely result in the allocation software to not preform effectively.
Furthermore, it has been reported that an account will become suspended if too many broken game claims have been filed. This is true, our system is designed to alert place accounts on hold when several claims have been processed by a customer. This freezes the account so a customer service member may evaluate the account. Most likely the account is reactivated after doing research. Also, when a member does claim a game as damaged the consumer has seven days to return our merchandise to us. This is so we can either attempt to salvage our game or investigate the damage to improve our shipment materials. GameMine has placed this policy to prevent fraudulent actions to our company by taking advantage of our generous offers.
We're always happy to find a middle ground with our customers and make sure that everyone experiences a fair environment. We're more than happy to answer any questions, never hesitate to ask!
Best,
Brent at GameMine

Dear Former GameMine participant,
We're sorry to see anybody go from our rental services and hope that many users will return to our services.
It's true, all users do have seven days in order to return any outstanding rentals before we charge our members. Unfortunately, in order to protect our assets, we must place an authorization on accounts when there are any outstanding products. During this period the bank places a hold on the account.
While we truly do wish we did not need authorizations but in order to remain competitive and keep our costs low it has been found to be a necessary policy.
We do assure all former, current, and future members, even if a member has been charged for an outstanding game after seven days, we will refund the charge once all merchandise has been returned.
If there ever are any questions please never hesitate to ask, always happy to assist in clarification.

Sorry to hear that this happened to you. However, did you not read the terms of service agreement? It tells you to return the games first or there will be a hold on your account. So this evidently wasn't unauthorized if you didn't abide by the terms of service. I've been with Gamemine for over 2 years and always abide by the TOS and I've never had this issue. I even had to cancel once because of financial issues and I returned the games and then cancelled as the TOS stated and NO HOLD'S occured. Dear Former GameMine Member,

We are disappointed to see you go as a member! Especially when it came down to a 3rd party which we have minimal control over.
In any of our DC's our operators must finish each of the day's picked lists before we will go home for the day. We pride ourselves on having an average turnaround time to less than a day when games are placed on picked lists and shipped out, and this includes weekends. It seems that the delay was caused by an outside force with the USPS. While it is unfortunate it can occur and we try our best to minimalism the possibilities of these delays.

We see that you have canceled and authorizations were placed on your account. These authorizations are a policy that has been set in place that is agreed upon when signing up for service in the Terms of Use. While we do sincerely wish we did not need to use authorizations to retrieve our assets we have found that it is a necessary policy to reduce theft with our company. We're very glad that the authorizations were dropped. Again, we do not wish to place holds on accounts but it is a preventative measure to maintain low costs which we pass onto our customers.
If there may be any further questions or concerns please never hesitate to contact us we'd be more than happy to help!

Dear Gerald,

We would like to provide information that may explain and help other understand this situation.
We have completed a full investigation onto this account and we can confidently answer any abnormalities and questions that may have risen during your tenure with GameMine. We see that the account was fully active on Sunday January 9th 2011. Therefor we would have mailed all games on Monday January 10th 2011, which was the case. During that time both those games were being shipped out of the NJ DC when at that time the NJ area was hit with another snow storm. We have provided the link to refresh any consumer's memories. While during that time it seems that a delay was caused with the USPS due to the hazardous weather conditions in transit to TN.

We sincerely wish there was a more effective way to stop those who want to fraud our company and steal our assets. However at this time the most effective policy is to place authorizations onto accounts with outstanding games. This policy is effective to ensure that we do retrieve our merchandise. We certainly do not wish to keep any funds in lieu of our assets. Again as stated this is to maintain low costs so we are protecting our assets. Furthermore, we would like to state that both authorizations were dropped immediately upon scan of the games being sent in the mail via the USPS.

Also, it was requested that his account be credited for the rental time. Unfortunately, we were unable to do so because he currently had merchandise out at the time. Once all of our merchandise was retrieved we would be able to inspect the postmark to ensure that the games were immediately shipped upon arrival. Again, we were unable to do so at the time because the customer had canceled his account before we were able to provide a full assessment on the account and shipment times. We certainly do want to work with current and future customers however, we do ask that our customers try and find middle ground with us also.

Also, we do encourage all customers to use our phone lines when possible, the phone number is 561-450-5123 our CSR's are available between 11AM-5PM EST Monday-Saturday.

Dear GameMine Member,

How discouraging it is to receive a cracked game! Every instance when we are reported that a game has been received as damaged we will immediately send out the next available game on your picked list. That in turn, we do require the damaged disk be returned to us in a period of two weeks. When the disk is returned it is inspected to further learn how to better our shipment materials. After it has been inspected for damaged it is either resurfaced and tested to be rented again, or is filed away for reference on specific damage examples.

Yes it is true that we have 2X speed on our shipment labels that is scanned by our customer's local USPS hub. However, since the USPS is a 3rd party we have very little control on when the label will be scanned. We are always in negotiations to further improve our service by being accommodating with the USPS and our shipping labels.

Our CSR's are readily available to help between 11AM-5PM EST Monday-Saturday at 561-450-5123. If a call is left after hours any messages that are left are immediately returned the next day. Also, you can go on our on-line forums and leave a feedback and a CSR will get back to you via email within 24 hours. Our CSR's are required to answer all feedbacks before the end of the day. Dear Former GameMine Member,

We would like to clarify information that was provided in this feedback for the general public.
This feedback was left on December 18th 2010 and as stated the user immediately canceled when they believed that we did not carry any games. We'd like to clarify that we use have a different way of indicating the availability of our games. It runs from very low to High and immediately available. The terms are in place to be actually more of a clarification tool of the likely hood of receiving a game rather than being misinformed that all our games are "available"
Also, in this feedback this customer claims that they were charged 150.00 immediately upon cancellation. While it is true that we do place authorizations onto accounts for any outstanding games when accounts are canceled. This is actually an industry standard and is only instituted in order for us to retrieve our assets. We rather have all of our merchandise returned to us rather than to charge any customer. It costs more money for the man power to regain the lost assets in this process. However, since this customer signed up on or around December 18th we no longer were offering a three games out at a time plan, therefor there seems to be skewed information regarding the authorizations placed on the account. We would not have placed a $150.00 authorization onto the account as the consumer would not have been able to rent enough games to produce such a surcharge.
Finally, we would like to touch upon the ability to reach us. We are easily accessible via phone between the hours of 11AM-5PM EST Monday through Saturday at 561-450-5123. If a call is left after hours any messages that are left are immediately returned the next day. Also, we have a fantastic feedback system on our site and our CSR's are required to answer all feedbacks before the end of the day.

Dear Anonymous GameMine Member,
We would certainly love to provide clarification for the shipment process. While, we are unable to fully pinpoint exactly what may have been the issue on the account for shipment we can provide the best information possible for this review.
This member states that on 12/4 is the day they ordered a game for rental. We have a policy that our distribution center members will not leave until their picked list is completely empty. Since 12/4 was a Saturday, and the game was not shipped until 12/6 is indicator that the game was ordered after operation hours.
Next the member indicated that it was 12/10 and they had not received their rental at that time. Again with out knowing all indicators a multitude of delays could have been the cause. If many will recall the North East was pummeled with snow this previous winter. The USPS may have caused an internal delay. The customer never did follow up to explain how many days did pass until the game was delivered.
They may have received the games on 12/10 which would be four business days. The USPS does indicate that shipment times generally takes between 2-7 business days. We state that we like to shoot for 3-4 business days by having multiple distribution centers, but we are subject to standards in place from the USPS.

We sincerely hope that this may have answered and questions or put any reservations aside. However if there are any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

All of the sites needs improvement, this one is no diffrent. However, I think all of these negative reviews are wildly blown out of proportion. I dont have any major disputes with this rental service, all problems have been resolved in a timely manner. I'd recommend. (read more)

If I could give less than a 1 I would. I contacted the BBB because I was overcharged. Now they claim that I have 8 video games. They also claim that I was posing as someone else? I got the subscription for my son. Now they are saying I owe $400. This place is a ripoff. I am seriously thinking of starting a class action suite against them for fraud! (read more)

After reviewing our BBB claims, GameMine was unable to match anything that matches this customer's review. Also, reviewing our own records there is not any match regarding this customers review and concerns. While this is an unsettling review, this is simply something that GameMine would not tolerate to happen to our customers. Rest assured with our new upgraded website there are very specific safeguards for a concern such as this to never become so monstrous.

I've actually been with them for some time without any problems, other than a rare delay, which is a lot more than I could say for GameMine.com. Also, I've had games lost in the mail with them and they apparently have tracking on these. They checked the tracking, apologised for the delay and sent out another game the next day. No idea what happened with everyone else on here... (read more)

Gamemine.com is horrible!! I only got a few of the games at the top of my list. From returning/mailing a game back, to get a new set of games, it took about 10 days. That's crazy! Plus to make things worse, I received two games that were scratched and unplayable. And they accused me of doing that damage! Even though they ship the games with not much packaging. They charged me $60. I will be fighting this to the end!! And spreading the word that their service is horrendous. NEVER USE... (read more)

Unfortunately, this customer become subject to a string of atypical terrible incidents. Be assured we have done multiple tests with our packaging and it is very similar to many by mail rental services. Although there is always going to be the anomalous problem which this seems to possibly be the case. Regarding the 10 days to be sent games, it depends if the customer sent it on a Saturday night, it could have been on a holiday week, weather conditions between them and a distribution center, there could have been a number of reasons why there was a delay. GameMine would love to be able to guarantee speedy delivery times, but we are subject to any delays caused from the United States Postal Service. With this being quite an old complaint and without the ability the accurately track which account this possibly is attached to; GameMine is unable to explain or determine if the customer was indeed charged any amount claimed.

(with GameMine), dont fight it. Your service is horrible and nothing you can say will change this. And if you are going to represent this company then be prepared to take a butt chewing. Your customer service "is what it is" - and that is horrible. Someone named Scott is rude and you can tell he hates his job.

I am going to write reviews everywhere to let everyone know how horrible your service is.

We have specific safeguards up in order to prevent any customer from being double charged. We have the ability to see if a double transaction would have been processed. However, our customer service will refund money to any customer once we confirm that there indeed has been a transaction that was processed incorrectly.

I signed up for GameMine and I am happy with it. I rent PS3 games, DS games, and occasionaly Gamecube games fo my son. All the games so far have arrived within two days (I live in Florida where they have a shipment center in Delray Beach, Florida so my times may be faster than someone in California obvioulsy. They also have a center in NJ but so far all my games have shipped from Fl.
The selection is good. They are sometimes missing a game (not listed on the site at all), but I recently...

This is a horrible site to rent games from. I read an earlier review that I am having similar issues with. I returned two games at the same time. It took a week to get there and it now claims that I have not returned one of the games. This is a sham to charge your card for games that they have indeed received. DO NOT RENT FROM GAMEMINE!!
I would never recommend this site to anyone I cared anything about.

Worst company I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. Their delivery time is slow, title availability is limited, the website design is terrible with broken links and missing images, and customer service is non-existent.
I was so disgusted with there performance that I decided to cancel because I received two games 1 1/2 weeks after they claimed to send them. I sent the games back and then canceled my account. I receive notice from them that they received one game but not...

I wish I read all the reviews on this page before I signed for that darn Gamemine service. I have tried to e-mail them 7 times (during 7 weeks). I've lost my password, I can't get back on their website. I lost the darn return envelopes, so I can't even return the two games that my son got! Worst web experience I have in the past 12 years. Beware big time. I am calling my credit card company to stop the payments to this rip off. (read more)

Game Mine seems to be an ok rental site, however they will never reply to emails/issues have no phone number to call to contact them. This Game Mine service is useless. What is the point of a service that not only has no phone number but when you report a problem you wait 7 days for a response!!!! I signed up to directly compare their service to gamefly. I was not happy that I was not getting my top selection so I trhought I would try another service in parallel. My wife accidentally threw out the mailing envelope. Stupid & our fault I know, but after 7 days I would have expected them to mail a new one!!!! No response to... (read more)

GameMine (registered in NJ as LAN Game Mine, LLC) is the worst company I have ever tried to deal with. No telephone number, no response to email, no response to the report system they have in place to report the game was not received. Nothing. A black hole of nothing in fact. To cancel the account, they want me to agree to pay them $50 for a game I've told them over and over I do not have. That is ABSURD!!!! I would not use them again and definitely do not recommend them to anyone. ... (read more)

Avoid this service, usually 10-12 day turnaround to get new games. Also I tried to contact them to get a 2nd mailer (they shipped both games in one mailer.) but never got a response. My 2 months is up so I want to cancel but the cancellation page keeps returning an error. I am trying to find a phone number for them but no luck so far. Selection was not very good, several games I wanted are out of stock. (read more)

When I signed up they did not charge me for their service until my first games arrived at my house. There was no free trial but that did not matter because my second month was free, unlike gamefly and the rest most of your free trial is used up waiting on the games to arrive. The 2x speed really cuts down on the mailing time, good luck getting that elsewhere. (read more)
