I was a little nervous making my first order from Akoma, as I was submitting a large order and taking a chance that the quality would be good. Submitted my order online on Monday, two weeks before Xmas ie a super-busy time. My package arrived Thursday, which is pretty good and the delivery had to be signed for, which is reassuring. i bought a large amount of butters and oils from akoma at my first order i dont like the products at all.the service was good,but the products not!the coconut oil was terrible,as i had another coconut oil at home i was able to compare.i desided to through it away.the shea butter is very sticky and hardly absorbs to my skin.the argan oil had no scent at all,like water.very very disappointed!! After doing lots of research for organic shea butter and finding a source for real black soap, I decided to trust Akoma and started ording product in Oct 2011. I have placed additional orders and was well on my way to being a regular customer. BUT this recent incident has left me very, very disappointed. I am quite impressed with the speed of the delivery of my order. I am very excited to use my shea butter in my 1st mix. I was expecting a few packages but as soon as I smelled the aroma of the butters I knew immediately what was in the envelope. I used to buy a lot of natural oils and butters from Akoma skincare. Their prices were fantastic and I thought the integrity of the reviews on the website could be counted on. I stopped ordering from them when they started increasing their prices, increases of more than 50% on certain items. I have got to say thank you Akoma!! I am a mixed race female and I have started to go natural!! I use the shea butter 0n my hair and it has given me he best curls ever and my hair has started to recover after years of chemical processing!!

Someone from a hair blog mentioned Akoma and out of curiosity, I went to the website and was amazed by the different types of natural products they had, and cheaper compared to another site I had wanted to order from. I am glad I decided to purchase from Akoma. The service is efficient, and the quality of the shea butter and black soap is excellent. I have been using Akoma shea butter for over a year now.I suffer from psoriasis on the back of my hands and between the fingers which becomes painful if not treated. We have always found Akoma very good with their Customer Service and Technical Support. I am not very technical but the support and guidence I received was excellent. Their products are fantastic. It has taken me years to control my skin condition and since using Akomas products I can now say my skin has improved.
It also makes me happy to know when I buy products from Akoma I am supporting the Akoma Cooperative who are trying to make a living and support their family and children....

After recently going 100% organic and natural I have hunted the internet for a reputable company that organicly and ethically source there products, Akoma is all of those things and more (A large amount of companies claim there products are organic when in reality they are packed with toxic and deadly chemicals). I discovered Akoma products as my normal supplier of the African Black Soap was sold out. I entered 'African Black Soap' in a well-known search engine and "wall-ah" - there was Akoma and the rest, as they say is history! I use their Detox Soap and my skin is so clear. Without even opening the appropriate and well sealed packaging i can tell from the distinctive smell and consistency that this shea is the real raw deal!
Very pleased with the service ordering on sunday night and reciving on tuesday afternoon. I received a text to let me know it was despatched and another on the morning of delivery. One reviewer stated that after 3 months she had not received her order and has not been unable to contact Akoma. I recently ordered the sample of the African Black soap and loved it! I received 2 initial emails, one stating what I had ordered and the second a transaction confirmation. Once actually dispatched I received a third email. Delivery was fast. Product was fantastic, I raved so much about it that my sister ordered a sample and I have (today) ordered a bar! I received two e-mails during the process of my order; one to verify their receipt of my payment, and another the notify me once they had actually dispatched the soap. The item was sent in a padded jiffy envelope which is ideal and should be standard for items of this nature. The soap itself comes wrapped in a brown sheet inside an Akoma branded box. I have used the black soap, detox soap and shea butter for a couple of days, and my skin is clearing up from hormonal acne. I really love it. I'm so obsessed with it that I rub shea butter in my face every time i'm in the bathroom. I think my skin will look its best in years soon. I also love their teas. All the products from Akoma do everything they say and more!
I've been using Akoma for hair care products for a good 6 months now, and everything I've bought is amazingly high quality, and even better, fair trade!
The shea butter and shea oil both work wonders and have fixed my dry, bleached hair, and the jeba conditioner is actually a miracle. It arrived yesterday and after one use I was grinning like mad, thank you for a wonderful product!

Ordered Akoma Fair Trade Unrefined Shea Butter, cocoa butter, and coconut oil on Thursday evening, got everything on Saturday morning! Very happy. I didn't even mind that they had sent the cocoa butter in a plastic pack rather than a jar, which I had ordered. Coconut oil smells yummy and absorbs instantly, leaving skin super-soft. Shea butter doesn't smell quite as good, but easily absorbed and applied. Cocoa butter leaves skin nice and moisturised but you have to let it warm in your hands... (read more)

Their service is incredible as I placed my order on Tuesday and received it in less than two days ! The Shea butter was really good, only downside was that it was a bit thick than I expected but nonetheless amazing quality.

I've ordered twice from Akoma now and I will be back for more! The products are excellent, the service top notch and the delivery extremely fast (I ordered on Thursday and got the parcel on Monday... and I live in Sweden!). I have no complaints.
