    The Essential Guitar Patterns does what it says on the cover.shows the patterns that all the pros know and use.once learned youll be free to play any type of music you want and sound like pro.of all the books on the market the fretboard series really are theones that show you all you need to know tobe come agreat player without spending a fortune or wadding through dry and lifeless music theory.if you dont learn from these youll never learn.just brilliant.

    Fretboard Roadmaps has some really good ideas - teaches the I IV V chord patterns all over the fretboard really well based on strings 6,5 1,2 and 3. Assumes you know your string 5 and 6 moveable chords, but then teaches you the moveable chords in the treble strings. Some of the descriptions are very brief, and some of the legends to the diagrams are too short/ or ambigious. I got the version without the CD - big mistake. Buy Fretboard Roadmaps but make sure you buy the versions with the CD. I am ...
