Good Points: Fantastic Food. Warm and Friendly Staff. Beautiful Views.
General comments: What can I say about this fantastic gem of a restaurant? Well, from the front it looks like an old terraced fishermans cottage but behind this charming, 200 year old front is a jewel to behold. The restaurant is located on the waterfront of a small fishing village called St Monans in the East Neuk of Fife, with unspoilt views across the Firth of Forth. On entering the restaurant there is an instant feeling of warmth, style and charm. I thought the restaurant staff were friendly and made me feel very welcome.I found the views stunning and once I was at the table I got the feeling that the whole experience would be delightful.I started with Thai crab salad with Parmesan crisp and pepper syrup. It arrived and immediately I was salivating. I thought the presentation, quality and balance of taste were outstanding. I knew that I was in for a real treat. To follow I had the Grilled fillet of Turbot served with Polenta cake, oyster mushroom rago t and sauce vierge, again pure perfection. I think this food was cooked and served by a team with a real passion. I dont tend to have deserts so I just plumbed for the coffee.I would recommend it to anyone.
