I first called Kwik-Fit 4 hours ago as my car would not start. First of all they said they couldn't verify I had a policy (despite me quoting my policy number) as their customer services was closed for staff training and I could either pay £100 to have them come out as if I was a new customer without a policy or I could wait until staff training was over so the policy could be verified. After 2 hours on the phone my policy was verified and I have now been waiting 2 hours for the breakdown... (read more)

I broke down in Manchester city centre,(flat battery) so I called out kwikfit. I struggled to get contact details off the company website. I had changed vehicles and they still had the old one on their system.( I had contacted them 8 weeks earlier to change vehicle.) Waited an hour and a half for their chosen mechanic to arrive, after which I turned the key and car started. So I cancelled the call out ( as the mechanic had not arrived). I contacted kwik fit and was fobbed off by a call... (read more)

We broke down suddenly on the edge of nowhere in SW Scotland where the mobile phone reception is poor at best. Luckily I got straight onto Kwik-Fit's Call Assist service who were patient and courteous, explaining how we might get our car either fixed or if not possible, recovered home. Having decided with the help of friendly locals to get our car off the road safely and so able to continue our break into an extra day we then got towed into the local town where a company called Motorwise saw... My wife had a blow out and called the service to change the tyre as she is unable to do this. Kwik fit tasked a local garage to do this and they arrived 1+ hours later not too bad. They changed the tyre but broke the mechanism on my car that holds my spare tyre on. I complained to kwik fit after this happened and was told that it was due to lack of preventative maintenance even though i did only have the spare tyre down only a weeke before to lubricate it. Cost for replacement part £120. So... (read more)

I believe I paid around £30 last year, I have just come back from holiday to say this has automatically renewed at £84.99! I find this unacceptable. I have called to cancel my policy and gone back to rescue mu car who have always given me the same renewal rates. Kwikfit offer good rates for new clients but do not look after their existing customers. Beware. (read more)

I took out car insurance with Kwik fit and duely sent off my proof of 10 years of no claims bonus, they sent me a letter two weeks later saying they hadn't received it so I sent it again. They then increased my monthly premiums stating that they received my proof of no claims too late, more than 21 days after the cover had been taken out. How can I dictate what goes on with Royal Mail??? I sent the proof TWICE but they still upd my premiums. I think it is a SCAM to get more money from their... (read more)

This review is actually regarding KWIK FIT CHARLTON. Avoid at all cost!!!!
I have my travel insurance & breakdown cover with KwikFit, so I booked full service. Kwikfit damaged my 2 front wheels while trying to get the wheels off, and they are blaming it on the previous garage that serviced the car 18 months ago. There attitude is irritating & customer service zero! I contacted the previous garage and they told me KwikFit is known for this, Kwikfit thinks they are too big and can't make...

Because of this I was unable to change the wheel and needed to call for recovery. The recovery vehicle turned up after an hour an I explained my predicament.I was then told because I... (read more)

You did so many things wrong.
If you are disabled and have 'platinum' breakdown cover why were you trying to change the wheel?
You lost a vital part, the type of part that's not going to carried by the recovery guy, what's he going to do?
Did you expect him to stay there with you and wait for the flat bed? Other customers need his services.
Finally, breakdown cover rarely covers stupidity, so why would you expect it to?
