“Needs improved customer service”

★★★☆☆

written by Josue199 on 11/08/2014

I've been using AutoAid for 3 years now, but have only had to claim in the last month or so. My first breakdown was 200 miles from home on motorway services. The phone call to AutoAid took about 10 mins to get through and the recovery truck took over 2 hours to arrive. After that it was plain sailing. I posted my docs off to AutoAid and received my cheque about 2 weeks later. Unfortunately I had cause to use AutoAid again when my car wouldn't start from home. This time the truck was here within the hour. I've just got off the phone with AutoAid (13 min), just to see that they've received my claim (I did ask them to acknowledge receipt by email...they don't do that). Anyway, the cheque's in the post. I'm in two minds as to whether I'll renew....They paid up ok, if they'd take claims online, acknowledge your claim and pay by bank transfer I'd definitely recommend them 100%

“Ok but beware”

★★★☆☆

written by JosiahCollier on 09/04/2014

I have been with AutoAir for years but only had the occasion to use them recently. Dead battery one morning. Called but they didn't arrive for an hour and a half. Chap spent 2 mins hooking the battery up and started the car. Must have spent no more than 5 mins with me but the bill was more expensive than the maximum home start payout. Seems a bit strange to me that this would have been the absolute minimum anyone could have done yet it cost more than the payout. After all this was a company that THEY sent. Discussed with the claims department but was told that that's the price within the M25.

“Used them recently simply to jump start a flat...”

★★★☆☆

written by on 14/04/2010

Used them recently simply to jump start a flat battery. They had a local company around within 30 minutes on a Sunday who had it sorted in no time. I sent in my claim and it took Autoaid a fortnight to write to me and tell me the paperwork I sent them wasn't enough and I needed an invoice from the garage. I have had to contact the garage and have them send over an invoice which is a bit of hassle and has delayed my repayment.

You need to read the instructions "To make a claim, you must send the original invoice(s) together with any receipts and a completed claim form to us". It's simple really!

How easy and quick is the payback of monies paid out when recovered? Never used this type of recovery service before where you pay and claim back.

I have been with autoaid for 4 years. Had to use breakdown service for 1st time last year. I was expecting to have to pay up front and claim back. However it was all included so didn't need to pay anything. we were on a busy road with 2 young children & the service couldn't have been better. Arrived within 20mins as advised and towed home 50miles with no quibble. Would definitely teconnend

I appreciate that their cover would apply both to me and my husband. Does this mean that 1) when we are out together and he is driving we would be covered? And 2) if he borrowed my car, which he does sometimes he would be covered? He does have his own car but says mine is easier to park in a multi-story car park.

Thanks for answering this question.

Hi, Your cover is personal. You and your husband are individually covered for ANY vehicle you are driving. I have had faultless service from AutoAid the two times I called them out. Just make sure you keep the receipts.

Its pretty straight forward as they have an online payment facility, just type in Autoaid and their site comes up. They also have a phone number and its just as easy to join that way. I can't understand some of the negative comments on here as I have called on them 3 times in the last 4 years and had no problems whatsoever!! Some people need to remember that they also have to use the same road they are broken down on hence getting through traffic? Unfortunately they can't Fly!!! Join and you wont regret it and it saves you a fortune.
