I have been with them 2 months used them twice and will be taking my business elsewhere tomorrow. Yes it's cheap. Yes they turn up quickly.
BUT they do not even open the bonnet to see if they can mend the problem roadside they just want to tow you somewhere. . . . . The tow vechicles are driven by unskilled drivers - not mechanics and neither of my drivers owned a torch. The trucks do not have a tool kit or parts or computers like RAC and AA. RAC who I was with before have always managed to repair roadside - thus you don't need to take the car to a garage.
I would not recommend unless you enjoy being towed around the country on a truck when your car could have been mended by a mechanic in minutes. . . . .

Roadside "assistance" provided to my wife by a mechanic (?) sent by AutoAid to change a wheel for her after a puncture on the M25. He then sent her on her way WITHOUT INFLATING THE SPACESAVER SPARE TYRE!!!
Result: further stress, danger and delay plus a quote of nearly £500 to replace the ruined spare wheel and tyre.
Still waiting AutoAid's response to this incident.- Read captjcd's review (81 words)

Providing you have a cerdit card this is the breakdown cover everybody should be using.
We have paid high breakdown cover with AA/RAC for years and never made a claim. Four years ago we moved to Autoaid and last month made our first claim.
We downloaded the simple to fill in claim form from the website and sent it off with the £250 invoice we had paid and the cheque in full was back within a week. - no quibbles - money in our account even before the credit card bill arrived
Brilliant they ...- Read Guest's review (115 words)

My husband used Autoaid Recovery in August a local garage down South where he was came, it then got took to that garage to get fixed the following day. Auto aid claims dept say the £45 recovery charge only will be covered, not any Labour charges unless the labour is done by the roadside. Think thats a bit of a shamne really as these tow trucks who come out anyway dont carry spare parts like an RAC/AA would so how can you ever claim something back on the labour cost then? (my husband neede ...- Read Guest's review (118 words)

First time trying to use their service when my car broke down, was a poor experience. I called them around 7.00pm, but they never turned up. Tried to call again to find out what was happening and could'nt get through.
I dread to think what could have happened if it was my wife that required their service.
I'm awaiting a response from them, but can't recommend them to anyone.
I would pay a little more but use another company.- Read Gladstone Douglas's review (82 words)

I've been with Autoaid Breakdown for 4 years now. I've had a few breakdowns and homestarts. They've always got to me within an hour, and never quibbled with me even after a 180 mile tow.
I pay £36 a year. If you need to use them, phone their number. They dispatch a local recovery service to you. You need to pay them there and then for whatever you need, and then you can claim the money back with a form you can download on-line. The claim has never been quibbled in my experience and has al ...- Read ewanh's review (138 words)

You must be able to pay for the repair and callout charge, around 45 if not extra costs involved, e.g. just to jump start and check the battery condition. Autoaid will ask you whether you need to pay by credit card before ringing the garage providing the truck, otherwise you can pay by cash. All you then need to do is download the claim form from the internet, or ask Autoaid to post one to you, and send it back with the receipt.- Read grange66's review (183 words)
