“CALL CENTRE USELESS, THEY NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CAR MECHANICS”

MY ALTERNATOR BELT BROKE WHICH MEANT NO STEERING,WATER PUMP,AIR CONDITIONING AND ALTERNATOR.SO I MANAGED TO PARK AND GOT ON THE PHONE TO AUTOAID. THE OPERATOR OBVIOUSLY HAD NOT GOT A CLUE HOW CARS WORK. I SPELLED IT OUT TO HER THAT MY AUXILIARY BELT HAD SNAPPED AND COULD POSSIBLY BE FIXED ON THE ROADSIDE.SHE SAID SHE WOULD SEND OUT A MECHANIC TO SORT IT OUT AND IT WOULD BE WITHIN THE HOUR. Within an hour of calling a lovely man was at my house to get my car started, luckily was only the battery, however he would have taken car to a garage of my choice if needed! “wanted to charge me for a 15 mile recovery !!!”

Been with this company for 4 years and never used it, but when I needed a recovery only 15 miles away from home, they said I would have to pay for about a third of the charges!!!!!! I have only just switched to Autoaid having had RAC through my packaged bank account which had cost £15.50 but also included travel insurance which didnt cover medical conditions. I decided it was not worth the money so looked to switch. On the recommendation of moneysavingexpert Martin Lewis I decided to go with Autoaid for just £43 for the year. I don't often leave reviews but the service I received was too good not to be commended. I needed help on a Saturday night and was sorted within an hour of making the call! The gentleman in their call centre was polite, professional and even called me back whilst I was waiting for the recovery truck to check if I was ok. “Too happy for words”

Had the cover for three years, a LOT cheaper than the AA and other providers. Unfortunately had to use it tonight for the first time. I was on hold for a minute before getting out through to an agent, who was fantastic! Dealt with me quickly and efficiently, made me feel safe, helping to calm me down. “Two and a half hour wait....”

We used to be with Auto Breakdown Recovery who then got taken over by AutoAid. ABR were always very good. Not so AutoAid. Broke down last night on the M5 - operator said two and a half hours to get a recovery truck. Only after speaking to Highways England - who were exceptionally helpful and professional - did we get a more responsive reaction from AutoAid. “Let down with 2 young children ”

We broke down camping . We were in a field which was quite remote with 2 young children . We phoned Autoaid to see if our policy was still valid . It had lapsed by 2 months. My husband said I need some help explained the situation and couple Autoaid help. Of course , renewed membership over phone paid and transferred the call to the recovery centre. I know it's hard but come on it's common sense that no insurance in the world will cover you when you already have the problem and always have to take a certain number of days before it becomes effective. That's why it is called 'insurance' but not buy it when you know you need it right now! Make sure you never buy health insurance at the last minute!!

It's pretty unethical to write a comment about your own company . Interestingly I have emailed auto aid customer service and have had no reply.
I'm not about lower myself , however why would a company transfer my call to their recovery centre to help us .
The comment is another reason not to trust Autoaid I'm afraid

“Best Breakdown Service”

I have been with auto aid for a lot of years and when they are needed you get a prompt response. I have had to use them twice and the service was fantastic, they use a massive network of breakdown operators so response time is really quick. All you need to remember you have to pay for breakdown upfront and then claim it back which is also a very easy process. Annual subscription cost is also very very good… Read Full Review

Had autoaid policy for 5years & used for the first time yesterday. Broke down on busy roundabput with 2 young children. the call centre staff member was very friendly and gave an estimated 1 hour arrival time for mechanic. She phoned back 15mins later to say the mechanic was on his way, he arrived a few minutes later. Unfortunately car couldn't be fixed at roadside so was towed home. I had to call AutoAid on July 18 as my car, though it started, was dragging and very laboured. I only went a few yards up the drive I live in as it did not feel safe to drive any further. I called AutoAid on Monday when my car wouldn't start. I was in a safe place, so knew I wasn't a priority. I was sent a text to say who was coming and that it would be within an hour. Excellent service. My father and I were motorcycling when he had an accident in Cumbria resulting him breaking his leg and air ambulanced to hospital. I was left with my and his bike at scene. I finally had enough of haggling with the AA every year and switched to Auto Aid. It was so much cheaper that I was worried the service might be poor, but as I have not broken down for several years I decided to risk it.
