I was becoming a little bit fed up with paying through the nose for the AA, so decided last year to try Auto Aid. Purchasing cover was straightforward. My husband's car (Mazda Bongo) broke down collecting our child from school. Phone call to Autoaid was swiftly acted upon and transport arrived in 40 minutes. I've been with Autoaid for about 4 years now and would have no hesitation recommending them. I was initially a little concerned about having to pay by card upfront for any breakdown costs and thought that claiming back these cots could be problematic. “Avoid at all cost”

Having been a member for 5 years I had to call for assistance the first time a couple of months ago for a flat battery one morning. The response time was about an hour, and getting the car started was very quick. The problems started with the claim (£50). To date I have not received my reimbursement and have yet to encounter anyone in the Autoaid claims department who has any mannners. “Brilliant service for less than £40 a year”

Have used AutoAid for years because they are so cheap, but never needed to use them. Had a flat tyre at the side of the motorway and had no spare. Called the AutoAid number stored in my mobile and they were able to identify me as a customer without me needing to give my membership number, which was a relief as I didn't want to climb back into the car to try and find it. Have been with AutoAid for years from when it was only £19 per year and had never needed to use them. I always said you don’t know how good a thing is until you try to use it. “Ok but beware”

I have been with AutoAir for years but only had the occasion to use them recently. Dead battery one morning. Called but they didn't arrive for an hour and a half. Chap spent 2 mins hooking the battery up and started the car. Must have spent no more than 5 mins with me but the bill was more expensive than the maximum home start payout. I've been insured with them for 4 or 5 years and have used them many times as I am one of these people who forget to turn the lights off overnight and then need a jump start the next morning. Plus my car is old and often needs help. Anyway, they've been always quick and helpful and no fuss with getting money back. “Good prompt service at an amazing prize!”

I have paid for Autoaid cover for about 7 years now and have had to call them out probably about 5 times and they have always been brilliant. The service on the phone has been very polite. I have only once had to call them when not at home and they arrived within the hour they said they would arrive in. “Shocking service”

I witnessed a lady broken down in my local town centre today. She was there for nearly five hours before the recovery arrived, which was a local garage (obviously contracted out to save money). Having been quoted over £300 for the AA Renewal for 3 people, looked around and discovered Auto Aid. £39 each for all the same cover. Signed up and 3 days later had to call for a home start. Had a BMW wipers fail on me at 70 on motorway in pouring rain. Had no cover. Lesson learned. Took out autoaid as it was: - cheap - covered person not car - covered spouse - covered home start Since taking it over 4 years ago, I have used them 3 times, all without issue. You pay the recovery company, autoaid then pay you back. More than paid for itself for the next 10 years as each recovery has been in excess of £100 with one being £250 and involved an 80 mile tow. My bike broke down just outside Sherborne Dorset on my way back to London about 4.00pm. I phoned the Autoaid phone no and they immediately arranged for a bike specific recovery service to come out, stating that they should be with me in an hour. They actually took an hour and a half to arrive this was the only thing that I could fault them on, but they did keep me informed during the wait.
