Good Points: Strong vocals, good melodies, wide variety of songs
Bad Points: Personally would like some more heavy guitar here and there.
General comments: Matt Brouwer, a newcomer perhaps for many, is an excellent US singer/songwriter. His album 'Unlearning' is a great collection of decent songs with good melodies, strong vocals and a wide variety of different songs. The album is a bit older and ended up in my hands by accident really. Nevertheless I like it. The spiritual themes running through some of his songs don't bother me and I can see past them to assert that this is a nice easy listening pop/rock album with plenty acoustic edges. The latter then would be my only objection, perhaps a few more heavy guitar moments would finish this album.
