Me and my friend had planned our vacations in Thailand and got reservations at Krabi, Railay Bay Resort & Spa for two days. Apparently this place looks satisfactory but it’s just on the outside. The Hotel staff is not very friendly or accommodating and one might come across basic hygiene issue there. Since there are very few hotels in this area so this hotel is always overcrowded and staff is not trained to treat the customers with courtesy. There was a damp smell in our room and we had to repeatedly request for air freshener which was again a temporary solution. Must say, not a pleasant experience.

There are only 3 resorts on the West side of Railay and it feels like this hotel just doesn't need to worry about customer satisfaction because of the popularity of the beach. There are day trippers and short stay guests arriving by the boat load. We got the same impression when visiting other establishments. When we checked in our room had a slight sewage smell, however after falling asleep we awoke at perhaps 1am to the thick smell of raw sewage. It was being pumped into the room by the air conditioning unit. We hardly slept that night. The next day we demanded they move us to another room and they did. But they didn't offer us an apology or anything. Another major issue was the quality of the mattresses. They are extremely hard and others in my party lost a lot of sleep because of this. This is an over priced resort and it feels like there is a lack of respect for customers.
