Good Points: Handles well, feels secure, has good brakes and a strong engine
Bad Points: Stiff ride even with the damper at the softer setting
General comments: Very happy with my Carnaby, it always starts first time and gives me more miles than official figures suggest. I refuel every 200 miles (I get the maximum 9 litres in everytime ... and a drop more). The running costs is also kept down by stretching the recommended service frequency, especially if the bike is driven in a civilized manner. Note that a full service every 3,000km at a cost of £60/ £70 means a cost comparable to that of servicing a car every 10,000 miles. Understandably manufacturers err on the safe side in their recommendations. Bear in mind that stretching the service frequency may invalidate the guarantee but I accept the gamble. To soften the ride make sure the rear tyre is not overinflated (ie beyond 30 psi). One other small concern is with the weight of the bike combined with the height of the seat. Someone under 6ft is unlikely to rest both feet flat on the road to stabilize the machine if necessary. Riding the machine over snow or ice would be ... dicy I suppose. That's when a lighter machine with a slightly lower seat might be an advantage. Here I am thinking of the Honda 125 HS.

This is the first bike that I have owned following my CBT and it has been a lot of fun to ride. I choose this bike over the Honda SH 125 because I preferred the styling of the Carnaby. I am 6ft 2 inches but still have plently of leg and foot room. The bike is also quite nippy and able to lap up the A roads on my journey to work with no probelms. The only issue I have had is when it comes to longer in town journeys on those pot holes and road humps. (I'm doing the Knowledge!) The seat begins to g ...- Read Commuter1's review (230 words)

The nice Italian design of the Piaggio Carnaby 125 makes it different from other scooters with big wheels. Quick scooter, 15 pk. good space for two people. Very stable in curves, strong brakes. The saddle material that keeps it cool in the full sun, price is sharp. Practical in the city.
Handy accessories for sale. There is not a lot of space for the helmet.- Read Guest's review (63 words)
