    i booked the edinburgh royal terrace hotel for our wedding anniversry on arrival it was aparant there was building work going on judging by all the skips outside it was set about half a mile from the town centre but we don't mind the walk anyway the next day we were told when we left the hotel for stroll they would be replacing some furniture when we came back some hours later
    they had changed the wardrobe ,the bedside cabinets,the draws,the tv stand ,the bath panel and other bits im just pleased there was nothing really private,and to be honest i thought id walked into the wrong room but the staff were pleasent but no warning about builders in our room ......

    The hotel itself is located on a beautiful tree lined street of Georgian terraces- very stately. Our one problem when we first arrived is that there is a hotel with a similar name. We tried to get in (it was locked) and even buzzed for the porter- too late we noticed the sign telling us that this was not the Royal Terrace Hotel.

    It is actually situated a very short walk from the city centre, so no need to get taxis or buses.
