    Bad Points: The rest of my face is really stubbly and grows back quickly and the hair is more coarser than before I started laser treatment. I am more hairer now than three years ago


    General comments: The hair on my uppper lip has become slightly finer than before using Lasers and Lights for Ethnic Skin, I am Indian, was 19 and fed up having to wax my upper lip practically every week. My friend suggested I try laser hair removal as she had just started going herself. So I went along with her. I asked how much she charged for upper lip and I was told that the laser women did not do just upper lip but the whole face because the laser machine turns the hair white and so it would be really noticable. Although I had no problem with the hairs on the rest of my face because they were fine, I stupidly agreed beacause I was desperate to get rid of the hair on my upper lip. I went for my first session, the lady trimmed my hair at the end, after being blasted by the laser, and came home covered in blisters which lasted for 2 weeks. I have still got scars 3 years on. After my 3rd session the salon went bust so had to look elsewhere.

    I found a place where they used IPL which I was told was safer for darker skins. Three years on and now nearly on 22 I am still having to get treatment and I totaly regret getting my whole face done because the hairs just come back quicker and darker (terminal hair) than before treatment. I have now got a beard which i have to keep trimming and i am self conscious because it is really noticible as it leaves a shadow. I am now hairier than ever before, all the fine hairs that were on my face and neck have turned into thick dark hairs.

    I realise now that the first laser place only did the whole face to get more money out of people and even though I had no problem with my face, I was tricked into thinking that it was a problem and that all the hairs would disappear for good. I wish I had the courage and knowledge to walk away that day and find another place. Do your research first and don't do what I did and just rushed into.
