Can't fault them. Smashed the screen on my iphone so requested a claim. Claim accepted within 3 days and was given the option to either send phone away to a London address or take it to my local apple store for repair through the Genius Bar. Although I had to pay the initial charge of £119 to apple, plus the £50 excess charge, I received the £119 back into my account the following week after submitting my receipts. I took insurance out the day before my phone broke . I had gone to work and left my phone at home , when I returned I looked at my phone and put it in my back pocket of my pants later went to the loo and my phone dropped down it . it has took them 3 weeks to reply to say my claim has been declined. they not very good at communicating I asked for email and they was leaving messages on my landline. I got this insurance for our tablet because it was fairly cheap for the cover they said was offered and there are so many bad stories about mobile/gadget insurance that I wasnt going to pay a fortune. Anyway after about 6 months we had an accident with our tablet and cracked the screen. I called Switched On and the fellow was quite pleasant and efficient. 6 weeks ago my mobile phone broke and I initiated a claim with City Main. The process was very straight forward and my phone was fixed in reasonable time. The day my phone arrived back, I broke it again - I couldn't believe it!! I wasn't going to contacts the company again because I didn't think they would let me submit another claim. Our house was burgled and our computers were stolen. Luckily we had insurance (through switched on insurance). We submitted a claim, which was accepted. I must say our case was very uncontroversial, since the thieves smacked a glass to enter our house. In any case they accepted our claim within their declared time (two working days). “Replacement phone had dodgy battery”

To their credit they have agreed to refund it but not acceptable to supply a phone with a dodgy battery. Especially as I had to take them to Lloyds of London to even get them to honour the contract I had with the insurer. You get what you pay for. If they deny you your claim then fight them all the way. First go Lloyds of London and from there to the financial ombudsmen. This will pressure them to settle as it's a costly process (for them and lloyds; making the complaint is free)… Read Full Review

Do not insure or use company's that insure with Citymain!! constant delaying tactics, conflicting information on the claim process, everything has to be sent by post, then you have to wait a week before the finally tell you that info is not adequate. I was very worried after reading reviews about Citymain Insurance, however they have been excellent in sorting my claim and replacing my damaged iphone. I dropped nail varnish remover on the front of the phone and it ran inside via the earphone port and speaker at the top. I rang Citymain and was emailed a claim form and was told the excess to pay was £25, this was authorised 2 days later and I was emailed details of where to send my phone off to so it could be repaired. A litany of disasters with citymain has left me now without a phone for 6 weeks with no indication as to when that might be remedied... hence resorting to leaving a review. The staff are always polite when you can get through to them on the phone and do all appear to be doing their best but as an organisation they do not seem to have the systems to support even simple transactional processes which is concerning and extremely frustrating. After 3 weeks of numerous phone calls I finally received my claim form,within 24hours I was told my claim was successful and they happily took £75 from my bank.I then received a email telling me where to ship my laptop upon trying to send it at my local post office they informed me the address doesn't exist????? My phone was stolen from my bag whilst I was on the tube. I obtained a crime reference number and reported straight away. Since I wasn't 'violently mugged' however my claim was declined. Waste of time this insurance- in future I will ask a pick pocket to mug me and someone to film it so I am more likely to get the insurance. You have to give a minimum of 1 star trust me there not worth it. Keep your money and pay for your own repairs. You can never get hold of them. The left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. Sent in claim with all needed documentation, kept delaying and asking me for additional stuff one after another, couldn't ask for everything at once. “Total joke of a company DO NOT USE CITYMAIN”

I got my partner an iphone 5s for christmas and shopped around especially to get her the gold one. Just after christmas she had her bag stolen with her new phone in, the police caught the thief but didnt retrieve the phone. Informed our insurers CITYMAIN and was told we would have a replacement handset within 3 to 5 working days. I took delivery of an iphone 5 on 3rd January for my son and took out the insurance before taking the phone out of the box. On 10th January his water bottle split in his gym bag soaking phone. Printed out claim form and sent it with all relevant documents on Monday 13th. I was then asked for proof of his age and address. Iv had to send my phone off twice, once for accidentally dropping my phone and the other because of my replacement phone being faulty. In Both occasions iv been without my phone for a total of 53 days and is still on going. I have made a claim for my damaged mobile phone and they declined for various reasons, at the end I accepted it, but they never send me my original proof of purchase and my receipt back.
