Helpful staff member to start off with over the phone, clarified what I could claim for and how long this would take in an approachable way. Later speaking through emails the first few were very prompt, slight lag after the first two or three however I think this was down to my phone provider and different matching serial codes (seriously double check these, if in doubt stick every bit of info you can in the email, saves a bunch of hassle!) after this was sorted, happy days sent off. I have had mobile insurance with this company for a few years now. Unfortunately I have had to make two claims in this time. The first time I had lost my mobile. After completing the claim form it took a few weeks and I was delivered a new phone. Customer service were always polite and helpful. The second claim, just recently was when I dropped my phone and the screen cracked and I was unable to use. I've had numerous insurance policies in the past and took this policy out for my daughters new HTC one which is on a 2 year contract. She's 17 and recently dropped it in the sink. Like most people I don't read the small print but assume that all relevant information is covered by details I give. I had water damage behind my phone after my iphone was in the rain all day. I didnt want to send my phone off tho as I new it would be a long process but went ahead with it anyway. I sent off the form which was from their website, and within 2 days the claim was authorised. I sent off my phone on next day delivery. “Impossible to Cancel!”

I deliberately did not tick the part of a mobile phone agreement saying I wanted insurance cover, yet somehow ended up being billed by City Main for a product I didn't ask for. The bank will not cancel the Direct Debit, they say it has to come from City Main. All this, after I specifically didn't tick the box. I had my insurance with them and had my mobile stolen. After submitting a crime ref number they said it wasn't enough and that I had to show that I had physically attempted to fight the thief. Absolutely ludicrous. Don't waste your money. Customer service rubbish too… Read Full Review

“Waste of Money”

I purchased a platinum policy with City Main (£9.99 a month). 7 months into policy i had my bag stolen while abroad which contained my phone. I obtained a police crime number (took me 3 days of my holiday) and submitted a claim. 4 days after submitting the claim i received an email from city main stating the claim would not be processed due to the following hidden small print clauses:- 1. Under no circumstances should you purchase mobile phone insurance with City Main Administrators. 1. When my daughter dropped her phone I tried to make a claim. The process is longwinded and they will not pay out under any circumstances.! You might as well not have phone insurance. 2. Dropped my iphone5 by accident at the beginning of the year, and as I had the money I changed it at a shop and paid for it myself. I took out FULL iphone cover with them via Insurance 2 go(liability covering over £700) then Lost my virtually brand new Iphone 5c which was on contract so went ahead and made a claim and paid the £75 excess it says on the F&Q section that if your phone is on contract they will cover the full replacement cost of the value of the phone but they have simply sent me a refurbished one(otherwise known as second hand)stuck to a piece of cardboard not even in a box or anything ! Just after buying my brand new I phone 5s I choose this company to insure my device. On new year less than a month from buying my phone, it was stolen by a taxi driver. City main denied my claim quoting 'you gave your bag to third party' despite the fact I explained that I was locked in the taxi and threatened until I handed over my bag. I have had ins with them for months for Both my children's I phones.my youngest, 14, dropped hers smashing the screen. They declined the claim because she was under 18. I stated when I bought it that it was for my daughter and tho it is probably in the small print somewhere, I wasn't made aware of it. i have just been informed that city view cancelled my insurance in march due to a missed payment that was paid anyway when i had the money!! i was not made aware of this until i needed to make a claim for a broken iphone, no email, letter or phone call to say they were cancelling, i have been paying insurance on 2 phones since dec 2012 so now i am over £170 out of pocket, money i could have spent on my daughter! and with a useless smashed iphone 5, i have NEVER been so annoyed at the complete… Read Full Review

Can't fault them. Smashed the screen on my iphone so requested a claim. Claim accepted within 3 days and was given the option to either send phone away to a London address or take it to my local apple store for repair through the Genius Bar. Although I had to pay the initial charge of £119 to apple, plus the £50 excess charge, I received the £119 back into my account the following week after submitting my receipts.
