“Didn't repair my phone properly”

I got insurance for my iphone because it was cheap. I had no problem paying £4/month. The screen cracked and needed fixed so I sent it away to get fixed. So much hassle with all these different documents and confirmation was needed from me before I could proceed with the repair, this too about two weeks back and forth til they finally accepted my claim for repair. I work for a major network and I've worked for another. I have 15 years experience in the industry. Both networks do not provide that information only bills. How ever, depending on adviser, you may get an helpful soul who may put together something together but I can 120% confirm we do not have anything with that information on together.
Our system doesn't even state the imei that's being used on the account other than the make and model. Its easy to put screen shots together but it would never be on the same screen. POP (Prove of purchase) should be enough as once the imei bar is placed on the device, an imei check would be able then to be preformed showing that it has been reported.
The problem with all insurance companies, they look for the first loophole not to pay out. I have delt with 100's of not 1000's of failed claims due to a stupid loophole.
The clamp down just makes the terms clear not on the companies doing their best not to pay out.
If a customer wants to commit fraud by faking the stolen or lost claim, then it is on them breaking the law. The customer should not be subjected to proving their claim above and beyond a crime ref number, sending POP and contacting their network for the device to have an imei bar added. Its enough stress having lost never mind stolen device without the added pressure of trying to obtain even more information to prove that they where using that device. Its not the best customer experience now is it?
I'm lead to believe, insurance companies have access to the imei black list. So with the POP and CRN that should be enough.
It seems that the insurance company is doing all it can to distrupt and dishearten the customer to give up or not pay out the claim.
What other reason can there be?

@Ogdenhj19 id go and make a complaint with the FDT. The insurance asking for information that can not be given as it doesn't excist. Check T&C's if it states that a copy of something which shows day 1 till day ? And shows the imei asigned to the mobile that usage. Its heart breaking enough speaking to customers who save hard, spend money on a device which now holds your life on for it to be stolen or lost being declined by the insurance on technicalities, someones perception of events that can be twisted on their favour. I've seen it done over and over again.
Customers pay them for a service, a service which apart of that is to help them not the company. Yea they have a right to protect themselves against fraud but to mke something in to a claim being declined is the company making it like their customer is trying to commit fraud by not giving (being able to) information to prove that it was being used on dates with imei number.
So they are susppecting you on that basis. No other reason for it being declined.
See how I twisted that in to the company looking like they where accusing their customer. We know that's not the case but how easy it is to turn 1's preseption in to something else.
Pay him out. You'd have the means to check the imei, the POP and CRN. That's enough or you calling the customer a liar? Ha.
