battery never lasted long. Replacing the tags is costly. Never cut the grass effectively. Battery took too long to recharge. The item stopped working completely just after the 2 year warranty expired. A complete waste of $200.00 (read more)

I love this weed-eater great for keeping my 650m sq section tidy. battery lasts about 30 minutes of normal use or 20 min if trying to clear through an amazon type forest. very light and easy to handle it is also very quiet. blades are easy to replace and has a holder for them in the handle and takes 10 sec to change them over. they last well using new ones for straight trimming and the worn ones for edging. I'd say it was easy to clean but it is so easy to clean I have not really had to. The... (read more)

how so many people have rated this with a low score is beyond me! (perhaps they should have researched there specific needs first). I brought this strimmer because i have two small patches of raised lawns that are underneath fur trees and very awkward to get to and it works brilliantly. First there is the adjustable tilting head to help with almost any angle needed and then there is the adjustable length for those hard to reach places. The conveinience of it being cordless is great too. I... (read more)

Wanted something better that a series of short lived cheapy's. Naively thought it would be good for my allotment as it has a heavy-duty appearance. Demoted to light garden duties where it is barely fit for purpose. Battery charge-life very poor. Cutters will break if in contact with anything thicker than a blade of grass. Planning to buy a replacement. (read more)

I purchased my strimmer about 3 years ago mainly for use for the path on my allotment as I didn't fancy plugging a corded strimmer into the electric railway. I have been pleased with the strimmer and have used it in my garden as well, it is ideal for cutting the edges of the lawn and although the plastic cutters do wear quite quickly, especially when hitting concrete or wood, they are quickly replaced and there is a convenient place behind the battery to store several spare ones. B & Q sell... (read more)

i had used many strimmers in the past find that art 26 is the best sofar.it is an expensive unit to run as the plastic blades keep breaking nevertheless it gives a good cut and find it easy to use.the strimmer is 18v but i use 24v with mine as it gives more power and it is easy even to get 2nd hand 24v as bosch batteries are inter changerble.i rated value for money 3 star as plastic blades keep breaking.i will certainly recommend this strimmer to friends. This trimmer is not designed for a massive garden that is overgrown. The battery doesn't last long, (but that makes me pace myself), and takes along time to recharge. I like the blades, so easy to change. I find I need 3 to do my whole yard, so keep the spares in my pocket while working. It is expensive for what it is, but it is very light to use. As it is still new, I have yet to see how long before the battery no longer charges well. I like it but couldn't recommend it to anyone, unless... (read more)

I TOO AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE LACK OF PERFORMANCE AND VALUE FOR MONEY WITH THE BOSCH ART 26 GRASS TRIMMER. THE PLASTIC BLADES ARE A GREAT DESIGN FOR REPLACING BUT THE PROBLEM IS YOU FIND YOURSELF REPLACING THEM EVERY 5 MINUTES IF YOU'RE LUCKY. THEY COST $1.45 EACH AND I WENT THROUGH 10 OF THEM IN ONE OUTING - BASIC EDGING WITH SOME DEAD GRASS. THE BATTERY TAKES AROUND 3-4 HRS TO CHARGE FOR 20 MINS OF USEAGE. BOSCH THIS PRODUCT IS A RIP OFF NO MATTER HOW YOU LOOK AT IT FOR AN OUTLAY OF... (read more)

I bought the Bosch cordless strimmer because I thought that Bosch was Quality - but not in this case. The expensive plastic blades break within a few minutes of use and if it hits a stone its gone instantly. Also, they are difficult to change. The battery requires hours to charge and then the charge doesn't last more than 15-20 minutes of use. I find it heavy to use, and the wheels which are supposed to support it are useless. They cannot be adjusted easily to get the operating height for... (read more)

Love this trimmer, no more sitting in the garden winding up the string only for it to last 5 minute before taking the thing apart and rewinding the string. Sure it is not designed for a massive garden and granted it is expensive for what it is, but as long as you are prepared by charging the battery in the morning/previous day and a supply of the quick change blades you can whip round the garden in no time, stress free. Just not being a string trimmer sold it to me and it makes me happy... (read more)

Daylight robbery. I was caught out. No better than a very expensive toy both to purchase and run. Expensive blades last no time. Neither does battery which takes ages to charge. I am amazed that Bosh haven't copped on to this disaster and hoodwinking of customers. Don't purchase one and if you do don't say you were not warned. Not even worth one star but that was the minimum that could be awarded. True value is about £10. (read more)

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH COMMENT WRITTEN ON 14/10/2010- I HAVE A FAIRLY LARGE GARDEN- HENCE THE NEED FOR A CORDLESS STRIMMER AS AN ELECTRIC CABLE WOULDN'T BE PRACTICAL AND REACH THE WHOLE PLOT! THE BATTERY ONCE CHARGED COVERS ROUGHLY 6 SQUARE METRES BEFORE RUNNING OUT, THE BLADES ARE EXPENSIVE AND DON'T LAST LONG - A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO KNOW IF IT IS POSSIBLE TO BUY METAL BLADES FOR THIS STRIMMER SO THAT IT WOULD BE MORE COST EFFECTIVE. I ORIGINALLY SAW A STRIMMER ADVERTISED IN ARGOS WITH METAL BLADES BUT WHEN I GOT AROUND TO BUYING IT - IT WAS NO LONGER STOCKED!! - CAN'T HELP FEELING THIS STRIMMER WAS TAKEN OFF THE MARKET AS COMPANIES LIKE BOSCH MAKE ENDLESS AMOUNTS OF MONEY SELLING THE POOR QUALITY BLADES ONCE YOU HAVE PURCHASED THEIR STRIMMER!!

The ART26 Bosch acutrimm battery life is less than that of a snowflake. £74.95 from homebase.selling one of these to loyal customers will only achieve one ending. The permanent loss off the loyal customer.
It should have sign saying "buyer beware"
If you are thinking about getting one of these machines, buy a pair of shears as back up.

I'm pleased to discover that other buyers of this product are thoroughly dissatisfied too. Thought it's poor performance must be my fault. No wonder it came with a free spare battery. So now I have two useless batteries. Thanks Bosch - that's another customer you've lost!

My experience with the Bosch ACCUTRIM is exactly the same as many of those in other reviews. The small blades have to be used very carefully as they quickly wear out if touching anything other than grass. After less than 2 years and with little use the battery performance is appalling and already requires replacing. Needless to say the Accutrim will be consigned to the recycling centre and I shall be replacing the unit with something more durable and less expensive.
I shall be more cautious...

I learned the hard way, wish I'd seen these reviews first. This machine is not fit fot purpose: short battery life, useless plastic blades that last about 5 minutes. What a pile of old grass cuttings! This thing masquerading as a strimmer should be confined to the compost heap. The Bosch R and D team should be shot. How the hell did they allow their otherwise good name on this machine. When desigining a product, it has to be a least as good as the stuff already out there or offer a significant advantage....by for instance being cordless. But The ART26 makes being cordless, a DISadvantage. BATTERY.....takes ages to charge, poor power, quickly drains,... (read more)

DO NOT BUY. I have had on of these for 2 years. In year 1 it gave reasonable service, battery life was not bad, but the plastic blades wear very quickl, even when just used to trim grass on a lawn. During the second year, I found that the battery was not holding charge as well as the first season. Now at just 2 years old the battery is shot. Do not be tempted to believe the hype on the packaging. The Bosch Art26 Easytrim is a pile of rubbish. You should invest your money in a line feed... (read more)

The ART 26 EASYTRIM DOES NOT DESERVE THE NAME BOSH
It is a pile of rubbish
We have had ours for about two years and have spent more time changing the blades which break so easily and we find VERY DIFFICULT to replace because we are disabled and have to force the on and off
The only thing that is good about it is the Cordless operation which gives it a good safety point
We have found the battery lasts long enough to strim our small lawn
VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH A PRODUCT WITH SUCH A GOOD BRAND...

Bosch ART 26 LI, seems to be a good strimmer, does not cut through shrubs, but then again it wasn't designed for that. Main reason for the low rating, is the very short battery life which is, even with quite thin grass only about half an hour. Been looking for a spare battery, but they're in the £60 + region almost as much as the strimmer was itself. Wouldn't recommend it for those reasons. (read more)

Rubbish! I bought Bosch ART26 ACCUTRIM Cordless Battery Strimmer for £97 one from B & Q, after having been told by the sales person it took 50 mins to charge the battery, to find that each charge (not just the first charge) takes 3-4 hours. The strimmer did not strim anywhere near the 1000metres advertised on the box either. I washed it down, took it back to B & Q the next day and argued that it was not the product as descirbed and got a refund. Am getting a black and decker... (read more)

This Bosch ART26 ACCUTRIM Cordless Battery strimmer has been extremely disappointing. When you use it around the end of the lawn and touch anything other than grass, the plastic blade flies off. These blades wear at an amazinging rate and it is necessary to carry a pocketful when using the device. The battery will last for one short session of use before giving up.
Not a strimmer you would ever recommend

Bosch ART25 Battery Strimmer is easy to handle with djustable shaft length and rotatable head. But would expect better research into battery reliability from Bosch. The Bosch ART26 ACCUTRIM Cordless Battery Strimmer is a brilliant strimmer. Much more effective than the string trimmers and 10 times better than the terrible Homelite petrol trimmer it was bough to replace. The Lithium Ion battery on the new version lasts forever but IT IS NOT A BRUSH CUTTER! Some people seem to think that all strimmers should be able to cut through dense brush and brambles. They are for cutting grass and light weeds and, for this task the Art26Li is an excellent choice.... (read more)

This strimmer uses Ni-Cad battery technology which is prone to "memory" effect if it is not fully charged & then discharged regularly. My battery died in the first year & the replacement battery is £50. Previously I had a FLYMO cordless strimmer & this lasted for years!
Interestingly if you check the Bosch web site they have just re-launched this product including a Lithium ion power pack. Li-ion batteries are far superior to Ni-Cads as they last longer & do not suffer from the memory...

Agree totally, waste of money.... BUYERS BEWARE, you do not get the spare blades any where in shops or online (shipping to India). SO I have an expensive junk that cannot be used as a 3 inch piece of plastic is not available !!!
