“Ocado Avoid”

Ocado Avoid Placed an order with a Groupon discount voucher. Picked a delivery date. Day before delivery order gets cancelled. Delivery is Cancelled last minute 4 TIMES. Start complaining vehemently on twitter #Ocado and email to CEO. Customer Service manager finally calls admits delivery will be cancelled yet again so now 5 times. Agrees to goods for free (so relatively happy) Day before delivery manager phones to only offer 50Pct. And lies that previously he denied offering the goods for free. Told him to give shove the goods where the sun don't shine. Email again to CEO. Start twitter complaining. Ocado now threatening to block me on their twitter feed.

“Ocado Bullies”

As a cstm (delivery driver) you are treated like dirt, both by the customers AND the managers. You are expendable and they know it. If anyone complains about you for whatever reason (bad parking, not smiling hysterically etc) you will lose your job. The camera in the cab spies on you all the time and is very oppressive, the management will always use it against you as it logs and records EVERYTHING, so don't go over the speed limit by even one mph. It's very physical, hard work like taking £200 worth of heavy (large water containers etc) shopping up 4 floors with no lift constantly all day. when you first start they try and tell you this is only occasional. no its not, it's every day and it's very hard work. You will lose your job for ANY reason at Ocado and the very high driver turnovers prove this. All in all, a horrible and oppressive company to work for next to minimum wage. Ocado will ALLWAYS take the word of anyone else over yours so don't waste your breath trying to defend yourself against customers malicious complaints etc. Stay well clear of the Ocado bullies (management) and work for Asdas or Tescos instead.

“Shambles”

My wife decided to order a bottle Hennessy Cognac XO via Ocado. We received the order confirmation email and then also received a time slot for our delivery for 7:30am on Sunday Morning. The time came and went and nothing arrived. So at 9:15 my Wife tried accessing her Ocado account to find out if had been deactivated. So she rang Customer Services to be told the order had been cancelled and if we would to reinstate the order we would need to send a copy of our council tax bill. Our first thoughts obviously why weren't we notified the order had been cancelled. In fairness we are always up early with having a 2yr old but they weren't to know that. The only thing we had to hand was a reminder which had sent to us (sent in error by the council, long story) So we sent this on Monday morning. On Tuesday afteroon I received a phone call to say they would not be fulfilling the order because they feared the goods wouldn't be paid for after delivery based on a reminder we'd received from our local council. When I asked the Customer Service Advisor why we weren't informed he told me that Ocado didn't like to send out impersonal Emails. Obviously they see it far more courteous not to say anything at all. I'm aware Ocado take payment after the goods have been delivered which seems crazy. I honestly don't understand why they don't ring fence the funds like any other online retailer. I actually don't have a massive problem in not receiving our order, I do have a massive problem with been labelled has a Council Tax Dodger, not been told that the order has been cancelled and then been lied to by an ill informed customer service advisor. He actually told me that they did ring fence the funds which I know now to be complete rubbish. For me Ocado have taken the ease of shopping online to be this drawn out process where they almost seem to be checking if you are worthy to shop with them. I would say if you are thinking of using Ocado then don't. There are plenty of other places online to get the stuff you want and you will actually get it as well.

“Ocado disgusting!!”

I ordered a Christmas shop 2011. It didn't turn up. No phone call or contact at all. Looked @ my credit card account no money taken. So I went straight to Tescos & was just relieved to be able to get everything in. So @ that time, just thought Ocado were rubbish & expensive. However 10 months later I noticed 100 pounds had been taken off my credit card by them. I rang them & asked for copy of my signature on delivery note & told them I hadn't receivedan y of the shopping & had had no contact from them at all. They then admitted it was delivered to my neigh our. But they still wouldn't refund me, I asked for proof of delivery ( it gets worse) they actually had the cheek to say we had to send them a further 10 pounds to see proof. So my Husband rang asked for refund,obviously. They had already admitted we didn't get delivery, but taking money with no contact or delivery, is surely Theft! They replied to that they didn't normally deliver to ordinary people but more like Downing street! What's that got to do with anything? Except we were being belittled for their mistake. My husband asked for refund, which 2 months later still haven't go

“Ocado The Best Online Food Delivery Service”

I had a huge shop last month of over £400 and it all arrived in perfect condition .But this month i have decided to have it fortnightly and i recieved my delivery this morning at 06.30 everything packed well ,fruit and veg in tip top condition and the delivery man was lovely and friendly..I also recieved two free samples of sauces which will be nice to try..I have tried all the supermarkets online and no one compares to Ocado the fruit and veg isnt handled by lots of shoppers before you get it as it comes straight from teh warehouse to your home and i find the fresh food lasts longer being it hasnt sat under supermarkets lights..

“Just let down by bad packing.”

I have been using Ocado for over 2 years nowm for on average two orders per week. I would love to have given 5 stars, but can't for one reason - the packing of the shopping. There are so many problems with items being squashed, smashed, split and spilt. Often there is the appearance that everything has literally been thrown in the bags - food products like yoghurts with layers all mixed up, bread under 12 tins of dog food, as just two examples. This is generally a weekly occurence, and I believe this is due to the speed and high amount of packing required of the packers who work on a 'paid by piece' basis.The website is great; easy to navigate, saved favourites, very user friendly. The range of products fantastic. There are hardly ever missing items, hardly ever (can't recall any actually) substitutions.The drivers are polite, friendly and helpful, always being on time (1 hour slot) and if there is a problem with a delivery being late, in unusual circumstances then there has been a personal telephone call and explanation. The delivery pass is very good value and I find lots of other nice touches too - the email reminders, sufficient time and ease of editing orders and (fortunately) the ease of securing refunds. Unfortunately, I often have to apply for a refund for 1 or 2 items per order, but there is never any problem with this, which is done efficiently online.I have made various complaints about packing when it has been particularly awful, to be told that they will give the individuals more relevant training and they are 'in the process of changing procedures' to improve this aspect of their service. Well, I've seen no change in the last 12 months! I continue to use them, because having used all other main grocery shopping companies, the positives with Ocado still make them the best in my opinion.

“Rude and Accusatory”

I am highly disappointed with the turn of events that has occurred with my first ocado experience. Upon hearing very good things about this service from my housemates, I signed up for an account and placed my first order with ocado. Shortly after, I received a message stating that my order was canceled due to verification problems with my debit card. I then phoned customer service, knowing there was absolutely nothing wrong with my debit card, to ask what actually had happened. I then was told that someone from the same address had an outstanding bill, and needed to pay in order for my account to reactivate so I could place my order. I then spoke with my housemate, who paid his bill with ocado. After waiting for a few hours, I tried to log into my account again, and it remained "inactive." I then phoned customer service, and was told. after waiting for an hour on hold, that the payment was shown to have been placed, but it needed to be cleared in order for my account to reactivate. I then waited all day today and recently tried to log in once again (even though I am getting quite tired of trying), and my account still remains inactive! They refused me service because my housemate didn’t pay his bill. They made my account inactive, and accused me of lying about who I really was. I am unable to lift my own groceries due to a recent operation, and this service would have been very useful. However, I will now look elsewhere because I refuse to give business to a company that treats their potential customers this way!

“Forgotten how to shop”

I've been using them since 2005 and have forgotten how to shop. I have also noticed how less stressful shopping is. If something is not quite right, I ask myself "Would I have picked it off the shelf myself?" It yes, I will live with it, if not, I request a refund and it is returned to my card within 48 hours, no questions asked. Of course, over the years, things have gone wrong. That's not really the point though - it's how problems are dealt with. And if things go completely 'bits up' one message to the CEO Tim Steiner will put things right. Some people moan over price... I see it like this: -If I go to Asda I have to buy branded or Extra Special products at a higher price to get the quality I need. -At Ocado, the quality of the Waitrose and Ocado products are good value and good quality.

“Another Poor Shop”

I have just had a bad delivery i had one last week and thought it would be sorted but no they sent out margarine squashed and opened with a milk carton wedged in it .Who would put margarine underneath Milk ?I have told them i wish to cancel my delivery pass and they are saying i must shop with them for 6 months and they refuse to cancel it..So they are expecting me to recieve 6 months of bad shopping ? I dont think so i will never use them again..I sent them photographs of damaged shopping and they were not really interested..Customer service is dismal..
