I had one of these appliances years ago which broke down very quickly. I have just been given another one as we had installed a tiled floor in the hall. After 4 uses the pump has packed up and on telephoning the company they insinuated it was my fault for not using it enough!! This product is NOT robust and would not purchase another. (read more)

I have had my steam mop for about 2 years and have used it every couple of weeks with no problems. I would/have recommended it. It is light weight, dries quickly and great with animals not having to use chemicals. (read more)

Bought a Home Tek steam mop 14 months ago and was very pleased the first few times of using it. It is light and easy to use. Now it is making all the right noises but is not producing steam. Ergo, not any use. Would not recommend this brand. (read more)

LIke many of the people leaving a review of this product I found it worked wonderfully for a few times then the pump stopped working. No support from the manufacturers. It is really very bad value for money and a very expensive mop. (read more)

Bought it at a home show in Reliant Center, Houston. The steam mop did not steam properly from the first time I used it. Would leave lots of water on the floor with hardly any steam. Needed to be refilled every 10 minutes. The product does not live up to salesman word. Paid way too much money. Next time will buy a Shark Steam Mop, they seem to have good reviews. On the upside it is light weight so easy to use. (read more)

I used steam mop monthly for 11 months and then it fused the house circuit breakers. On dismantling device a small plastic pipe had broken allowing steam to spray onto electrics. The repeated pushing to liberate steam had worn this pipe which is not robust enough for job.BUT it cleaned tiles well. Have owned the mop for 18 months and used it very little. So for the first six uses it was good. Today it was useless, it would take about 3 days to use the water in the reservoir steam production is so slow. Visiting Home Tek website is a waste of time - it is a scam. No means of getting service and no contact numbers. I would urge everone never to buy any home tek product. (read more)

I bought this steam mop as I have tiles all through the downstairs of my house. The first three months it worked brilliantly - then it stopped steaming. On the face of it, it seemed to be working - but no steam was being generated. I would not recommend this to anyone because of the durability aspect (read more)

This steam mop (when it works) is fantastic at cleaning hard floors. It is incredibly easy to use and I bought it after a recommendation from a friend. However, the first one I bought lasted 10 months being used once a week. I sent it back under warranty but it was (conveniently for them) lost in the post. So I bought a second one which has lasted less than 6 months before packing up. For relibility I would not recommend. (read more)

I bought an light and easy steam mop only two months ago and thought it was great to start with. Went to use it for the forth time and all the water was pouring from the bottom. I have tried to find an email address to complain too but with no luck.
I bought it from Sandringham summer fare in September this year. At £80.00 that is not cheap, for only three uses.

I would not make Light 'n' Easy HT824 Deluxe Steam Mop my first choice in purchase again....the demonstration at the home show does not reflect real life accurately. It did not live up to promises made. I feel that I have wasted $140.00 and would have be better off saving my money. (read more)

Very easy to clean all my tile floors with the Light 'n' Easy HT824 Deluxe Steam Mop. Five pads came with it, which is a plus. I wish that I had it before the cleaning help kept washing my floors with the dirty water, so I could see if the grout really stayed clean. So far, so good! Bad points are: No on/off switch. If you clean a floor you usually have to walk on the wet floor to unplug the machine. Seems to be something that should have not been missed on a $140 product. That is... (read more)

i would recommend this HT824 steam mop i have had mine for 3 years and in that time i have used 3 cleaning pads every time the large kitchen floor and hall to garden is washed, i use three as this makes washing the pads after use easy and i think this helps the life of the pads, these 3 pads are all i have had in three years. the HT824 is an efficient floor cleaner, unfortunately the short flex and lack of cloths cancel out the good points. i feel i couldn't reccomend this appliance to anyone with a bad back or knees etc because of having to bend down to plug in and uplug in every room. (read more)

I purchased my Light 'n' Easy HT824 deluxe steam mop over 1 year ago and i cant see why anyone can rate it bad. I wash my laminated floors my tile floors and even steam my carpets. NO streaks no damp floors the only thing you have to do i wash the pads out after. I just pop mine in the washer on a hot wash bingo they come up like new. Tip for anyone: buy the lovely smelly iron water and use that instead on tap water makes your room smell lovely. What do you want for this price, a maid? (read more)

I would not buy anything from Pitchwell TV again as poor after sales, told them my HT824 steam mop did not work after only one use, they did give me the manufacturer's telephone number who told me it was not their problem but Pitchwells, after continuous phonecalls I have now given up, would advise people not to purchase from this company. I purchased this Light 'n' Easy HT824 Deluxe Steam Mop at a reduced price and am shocked at the prices some retailers charge.
Its very easy to use and produces great results on tiles, lino and laminate. Haven't tried it on carpet!
I find it produces excellent results with little effort, but the one pad that comes supplied can get dirty quickly so would be useful if a spare was provided while one in is the washing machine, which is another good point - the pads can be machine washed, so...

If you are doing more than spot cleaning, you need to purchase more of the pads (add $) as they get quite dirty fast (even on floors that look clean)! The steam cleaning is great and the floors dry fairly fast. I would recommend this cleaner! I paid $49 for it through Sterling. Comes with 1 pad and funnel filler. (read more)

The HT824 is a good idea for cleaning hard floors without using chemicals but a lot more thought has to go into it's design. Although it does a decent job on tiles and hardwood flooring, I found that it struggled to clean carpets and upholstery. Overall, I was a little bit disappointed with the machine. (read more)
