Good Points: It is free to the merchant; it is accepted by any participating merchant; it offeres the consumer a 10% discount on most items. No discount items are declared up front. the card has no expiration date.

Bad Points: Hard to market since most people have been "taken" and they don't believe that there is no hook.

General comments: Loyalty cards seem to be restricted to one establishment. No so the American Loyalty Card (ALC) which is bar coded and accepted by any and all participating merchants. Those that do not are kept out of the profit loop. To the merchant the cost is so small as to be insignificant (2.00 to 3.00 dollars per month). To the customer the cost is a one time fee of $22.00. The merchant gets a free listing on the company's website: www.aloyaltycard.com/merchants. The listing is in two formats: Category and Alphabetical. Those clients that are willing to provide an email will be notified on a regular basis of new and additional merchants that are joing the family of participating enterprises.

A Loyalty Card is aBrilliant concept. The system looks like it has the best potential if everyone takes advantage of it. When enough people get their FREE card from the merchants (or on the net) then the other merchants will jump on board and everyone wins. Get the card and save.
