In my opinion one HUGE problem is the safety alert subscription its RUBBISH. I have had ONE update from Navman S50 in 5 months. Customer service keep telling me to check my spam filter ect ect.I have asked for my money back on several occasions or someone to contact me. I would not trust this one inch!. TOM TOM was great so will be buying one of those.
On the whole the unit functions ok and is easy to use. I still dont trust it gets to where you want to go using the best route as it was routing ...

Should have got a Tom Tom. It can ' t work out my home address; it seems to think we live 7 houses away. Can ' t enter house names. It has roads missing from the UK map. On one map it has three houses missing. Those have been around for about 500 years.

The Navman S50 is a fantastic product; for those willing to read the manual and understand how to use the unit before diving in; it is a great product, offering the combination of a outstanding price bundled with good looks, easy use and a trusted brand that has provided quality sat nav for years.

Potentially best on market let down by faulty in car charger and Navman's customer service is really poor.
    Software wouldn't work on vista
Unit wouldn't sit when in cradle
Screen kept defaulting to European options every time it restarted
Sat nav returned to shop after 1 week.

I've been using my Navman S50 sat nav system now for a few weeks and it's quite good. I've used a few cheap sat navs in the past but the Navman S50 is probably the best. I find the menus easy to use and the signal is accurate enough to be something like within three or four metres. The only real problems are the crazy windscreen mount - it keeps falling off! Whatever I do and however I do it, it still drops off after a while. I want to find an dashboard mount which I can fasten to me dash. Also, t ...
