I bought Praetorian from these guys and have to say it was cheaper than I expected, a first edition first print. However I was slightly damaged as well as the packaging but to be fair I think the fault lays with the couriers. I called them and got another copy in perfect condition the following day. Gordon's Great Escape SE Asia - RRP £25 but only £7.99 via Book People. Even with the postage at £1.95 this was the best value I could find on the internet - even better than Amazon. Service excellent, received the book just 2 working days after I ordered. Will definitely use again. You also accrue points when making purchases. Can't fault them. (read more)

The Book People are the best mail order book company that i have used to date. The delivery charges are very reasonable and the delivery speed is second to none, practically by return. The choice is always very varied so something for everyone in every catalogue. Also their website is so easy to use, no hidden catches or annoying pop ups. I have used The Book People for years and found them to provide consistently high service. There is a good selection of quality books available at fantastic prices. The online ordering system is easy to use with plenty of information available about each book. At our nursery class we always buy books for Santa to give to the children. We buy the multi-book packs from The Book People and the children are always delighted with their special book.

I absolutely love The Book People, they are always my first stop for any books for myself or gifts for others. I have bought from them on many occasions and love the range of books they offer. I cannot fault the customer service, simply superb! Plus the offer of free delivery on orders over £25 is fantastic. The exceptional value for money also means that you'll be getting a lot for that £25! Christmas presents last year were mainly books from here, and that will definitely be the case again... I love The Book People and have been shopping with them for years using their online ordering.

They offer quick, often free delivery on a variety of cut-price books, many of which are glossy hardbacks, all at cheap paperback prices.

I've managed to pick up some great box sets in the past, all at about 10% of the original RRP!

Loads of great gift options, particularly for kids, and a fantastic place to source cook books. (read more)

Good range of books, fantastic prices, fast delivery and well packaged. Books for the very young to the less sprightly of us! I love the cookbook sections and also crime fiction. The book sets are an ideal way to get interested in a new author, such as my recent purchase of The Daisy Dalrymple boxed set by Carola Dunn. I thoroughly enjoyed them and I am now looking to read more in the series. Also recently purchased The Hairy Bikers Christmas and thoroughly recommend that to anyone... (read more)
