“International Sign for! WHAT A JOKE!”

I have spoken to customer services as neither of my parcels sent to Russia arrived. I paid for International Sign for, at an extra cost for peace of mind but after 7 weeks still nothing! The website says it takes 11 days to Moscow and Customer Services have told me that once it leaves the UK there is nothing they can do to find my parcel and I have to contact the Russian Postal Service myself. “Perserverance and Persistance Pays Off!”

Written on: 15/03/2013

I subscribed to the Post Office broadband in July 2011. The router and microfilters arrived on schedule and I found the supplied installation instructions well illustrated and written. Maximum download linespeed hovered around 2.5 Mbps (megabits per second) - not particularly fast but okay for my needs ( I'm retired). A few months later the linespeed fell dramatically and has since varied from 0.11 Mbps to 3.0 Mbps). I made several calls to their helpline but told to check the... (read more)

Been with postoffice home phone and broadband for about 5 years now, and have been very happy, also they pay line rental! So good value, Internet quite fast, always use yahoo or gmail email so couldn't comment on email accounts, I now upgraded to anytime calls brill 0845, 0870 01,02,03 plus all uk mobiles at weekends, and international calls! All for £26 a month, so I am very happy with it. (read more)

I was mis-sold the product - broadband/telephone - given wrong information, false promises, long wait for service, longer wait for terms & conditions - about a month - lied to over options, hassled every month, they went back on their word to correct things because they mis-sold in the beginning, the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing, our internet service went down every ten minutes literally! for six months until they decided perhaps they would try a new router - which... “No problems”

Written on: 09/01/2013

Ive never had a problem with the landline, or the customer service. I really dont know what people are banging on about in their "negative comments". When people go on about billing issues, im 100% sure its down to the customer and not the company. If people actually listened to the sales person, they would know what to expect (quarterly billing, installation charges etc). My broadband connection is as slow as a dead slug. Download 24KBPS!!! Phoned the post office. They took the detail and said due to being so busy they were only doing callback. That was six days ago and still no callback. BT wholesale indicated the line quality is good and I should be getting 3.5MBPS min. I was dreading changing my broadband supplier, but Virgin decided to charge me an extra £5 / month, and would not negotiate, so I felt the time had come. "Diabolical"

I recently changed to PO Broadband because they seemed to be cheaper as my previous ISP( what a mistake) and no loss of service during the switch over.
I work from home and depend on my Internet 24/7 to make my living and they suppose to offer a great service and good value for money.
LIES LIES LIES
Appalling to say the least.
On the first day of service(no internet connection) I called Technical Support and was told that my line dropped 90+ times already and they agreed this was unacceptable. The further told me to connect to the Test Socket and to change their new Filter(DUH)
They also told me I had to wait to give the Line a chance to settle which can take up to 10 Days.(???????)
The next Day(i am really getting browned off by this Time) I have the same Problem so I call them again when they proudly announced that my internet had dropped a further 83 times since the Day before!
They promised to send an Engineer to do whatever they have to do to resolve the issues within 72 hours and told me they will call me once the Engineer has been.(still waiting for that call and Engineer)
A further 72 Hours later I called them again and the Lady on the Phone told me my Line had dropped a further 43 times but she promised me that my Case will now be dealt with by their "Line Technicians" and i should be notified in the next 24 Hours of their findings.
When I tried to push her for a final resolution she told told me WE can`t promise anything and after the Line Technician(s) have done their work and they can not resolve the issue she sort of gave me the option to either put up or shut up or change Provider.
As far as I am concerned...They will find nothing as with my previous ISP(same Phone Line) I had a perfect, uninterrupted Service.
So if you are thinking of switching to PO Broadband please read all the comments on here first,I wish I had.
Seriously you be better off with dial up!

I will try and keep you posted

There are a number of reasons that the speeds can be slow. the thing to do here is find out what it is causeing the problem. we do this by process of elimination. The first thing to consider would be any extensions Between the Router and the telephone master socket Next is the Microfilter change this for one you know is working fine. then we also need to remember that the |Faceplate of the master socket can also cause these issues. this can be checked by useing the test socket. with all these home environment checks complete your ISP has two options
#1 raise the fault to they'r suppliers (BT) this will go down the rout of sending the diagnostic engineer to test the the line from the DSLAM to your property. BT charge for any work performed past the NTE. i.e Customers own wires and equipment.

#2 Perform a sound to noise ratio reset. this will effectivly put you back in the 10 stabalisation period. whilst you will find the speeds will fluctuate you should find them getting faster.

Of course witch of these two options to go with depends on the ISP's diagnostics results. Here is where most ISP's suffer when it comes to slow speed issue's as i am sure you can apreciate each Tech agent's abilitys to diagnose these issues varies.

"Tech support - rubbish. How does changing wireless channel stop my broadband line dropping exactly?"

If you are dropping connection, a few things can do this, the most common is local probs, so by changing the channel over this can help, also if you have a cordless phone base station by the router this can also cause issues. In my experience with post office iv found newcastle to have far more tech skills then wales, they just tell you to change micro filters and factory reset the router which is the last thing you want todo this will can cause all sorts off probs.

The post office rent their equipment from bt, so what you are getting is bt adsl max, which can support line speeds of upto 8meg.
Your speed will be set with in the first 10 days of your servise going live, all ips do this, you will have a fault rate and a max stable rate, as long as are above fault rate there is no problem, goto www.speedtester.bt.com to find yours out, simple.

I have been with Post Office since I returned to this country from Africa in April, so I have nothing really with which to compare them. Post Office were suggested to me by my aunt who speaks highly of them. On cancelling my contract I was informed that my next statement would include a charge for early cancellation but to ignore this as it would not be deducted from my account. Needless to the early...
