Good Points: The PO home phone has been fine.
Bad Points: The PO Broadband Standard has been absolutely terrible. I wrote 10 letters explaining my queries in the first 3 motnhs and not one was acknowledged. I have also made numerous phone calls, all at my expense, but no one could satisfoctorily answer my queries. I was passed from one technician to another.
General comments: I have now been on the Home Phone/Broadband Standard for some months and it would appear that I am now at last connected to Outlook Express. I really cannot recommend PO Home Broadband Standard. I truly feel that the PO were inundated with subscribers at the end of 2007 and they couldn't deal with the volume of queries and teething problems that they had. Maybe that is why we see very little TV adverts for PO Broadband.

Unhelpful customer service.
The product does not do what it says on their adverts in my opinion.
The IT engineers have also been unhelpful in my experience I feel.
No wonder the internet connection was so cheap for me as the router is not up to standard and after 10 phone calls nothing has chaqnged. I have now got otelo and BBC Watchdog involved to try to cancel this contract.

We migrated to the Post Office from Orange 5 months ago, and it has proven an excellent choice. We have had no problems at all, and especially combined with the telephone line deal, the unlimited broadband package offers very good value for money. A huge advantage is that the router is just a normal Netgear router - it does not contain any irritating software that updates itself periodically, so there is never the risk of unannounced disconnection (which happens with the Orange LiveBox, for exam ...

The welcome pack didn't arrive until after connection. I found connecting the wireless router to my PC very difficult and when seeking advice from the customer service team, all they could offer was the call centre which in my opinion was not helpful. Was personally not happy with their tone and I dont think thats their fault! The price is right though and connection was on time.

Had an initial connection problem used the freephone number to talk to customer support and was given the correct advice and in under 3 minutes I was online. So contrary to lots of other messages telephone support isn't 100%. How is this broadband/phone service surviving if it's as bad as the majority of the reviews posted here say it is? It's surviving because most happy customers don't post reviews. That's the nature of the human race.
I could be living in a fools paradise and time will tell, ...

Unhelpful customer service. In my experience they have not been able to answer my queries as far as I am concerned, promise someone will ring you back, but as far as I am aware they never have. I wouldn't recommend www.postoffice.co.uk to anybody.

Got the free router today, plugged it in and within 5 mins was surfing net. Getting 3-5meg speeds so pleased as punch. Was a little worried with all the negatives I read on here but glad I took the plunge, I do recommend the post office.

Do NOT choose this internet provider. After a total of 2 hours on the phone to their contact centre the Post Office were not able to connect me to the internet. I have used many providers before without any problems. Their call centre tried to sell me a special USB lead to get connected, but this didn't work and I was now out of pocket. After a month of continuous calls they found out that they had not set up my account properly. We decided to cancel our connection. They tried to charge us ...

A simple connection gives good internet speed, much better than previous ISP Virgin. However, the email system does not work a lot of the time.

Having obtained my MAC code I signed up to The Post Office Extra Package as it in undoubtedly a good deal. However they signed me up to the wrong package so I did not receive the wireless router. Endless phone calls (lasting up to 30 minutes at a time) I am still no nearer to receiving the router and weeks on my MAC code is running out. Give them a miss. Cheaper isn't always better!
