“BIG mistake, switching to Post Office broadband”

Not having moved phone and broadband for a number of years, it honestly didn't occur to me that there would be a problem with ISPs these days providing a useful broadband speed. Let's face it the local networks are common hardware anyway, and it's frequently here where problems exist. NOT SO. “Don't use the post office as your broadband provider”

We have used the post office for several years but our broadband has never been very good - in the last few weeks it's been non existent and we are now in day ten of phone calls to the post office to resolve with no end in sight. They have no regard for their customers and clearly contract services out then blame everyone else. Tonight I was accused of shouting at them which I had not in anyway. “worst broadband company ever”

I moved to the post office in September 2014 and I have had nothing but problems since. The speed is pathetic and intermittent, when contacting technical support it ranges from good to absolutely rude, unhelpful and quite ignorant, I do not think that the speed has been reliable for even one week at a time, I think that this is a poorly run and uncaring company and I will be moving as soon as I possibly can, roll on September… Read Full Review

“Poor broadband technical support”

Have been a customer for a few years. Phone service, facilities and costs are good. Broadband service was reasonable but several months ago broadband developed a fault and it took 3 routers and an engineer visit to resolve, service has been fragile ever since. Recently tried the wireless function for the first time with brand new Dell laptop, router constantly recycles itself and I lose all internet function until I turn off laptop and then it recovers. “been with them 6 years but the last 7 weeks had problems, ”

from 12 august I had a new router sent to me, flowed by three engineers to the house, an to over vist to telephone exchange points, how still 7 weeks down the line, fault still not sorted, unreliable internet, an phone to ( not as bad though) we logging on an sometimes we lose power to the router, they may be cheeper, but are they as good when coming to finding the faults? if your an engineer who works on telephone line, when the make changes on noise levels. do you need to wait to days for it… Read Full Review

“One of the worst decisions I ever made”

Had loads of problems with BT from January to mid April over none existant broadband download speeds (0.01 - 0.09Mb). Eventually they found a fault on cable, but I ended up being charge for excess broadband usage, when it was not working, in June. Being out of contract went to Post Office broadband - what a complete waste of time, space and certainly money. “Avoid at all cost ”

Moved from BT to the Post office because it was a slightly cheaper option. What a huge mistake, you get what you pay for rings true with this lot. Depending on the time of the day the speed i can get can be less than 1mbps up to a maximum of 4mbps This can render broadband useless for many evenings (funnily enough) The 'technical team' at the post office describe that this is due to the location of my house but i am pretty sure my house stays in the same place all the time ! “Absolutely Awful”

In an attempt to get cheaper WiFi than BT we changed to this pathetic excuse for WiFi. The router is very faulty and on the occasion that it works, I normally cannot even connect. When we can, it is so unbearably slow that it has resulted in the family spending an extra 12.50 per month on 3g. “Getting worse”

I decided to upgrade my router and the one they sent cut out on connection. After many calls to their helpline and being told it was my system I called in a local PC engineer who fitted an old spare router he had and bingo all was fine. Speed very slow- much slower than local Talk Talk even though they have the contract and an upgrade was promised. “Just terrible service”

A month ago my broadband speed plummeted at the same time my phone line started crackling wildly. 0.01 mb/s download speed. I've now had FIVE engineers visit and each time they visit they say the fault isn't at the house end so they have to close the call. And then I have to raise a new one and..... they send an engineer out. It's PATHETIC! This has been going on for a month now. PO broadband was OK before the switch from BT to Talktalk. Now, it is just apalling. They are badly shaping traffic which is usually halved from what it can be and we easily can notice it because we use them in a second house and every time we come, it's good then fall abruptly after a couple of hours. “Shame were quite good.”

We have been with the post office home phone and broadband for app 4 years and have always had a great value service. There has been excellent tech service, inc BT engineers coming out to check lines if my broadband slowed down, a real person who knew his onions always available on the phone for any other technical issues etc. I also got my family to join the post office too, free anytime post office land lines, inc weekend calls to local national and mobile numbers. I was left with no broadband for three months and ringing them every few days no matter what time of day it was I was left on hold for over an hour every time. My broadband is averaging around 3.4kb/s and thats if its actually working. Have contacted costumer support to many times to count, and all though most of the time they are friendly, they have not been able to fix any problem.
