Good Points: Its a practical easy to use and connect stereo hi fi. Powerful 300w rms output. Radio is clear. Easy to use features on the hi fi and on the remote, simple. No funny lights or that kind of stuff. It has karaoke function as well. Sound quality is generally good provided that you don't turn it up to levels where it will distort. It has six equalizer modes, three disc trays and two cassette decks. Volume increments quite smooth.
Bad Points: Its total harmonic distortion is 10% when turned to maximum volume. It does not have a subwoofer for real low bass frequencies. It is only CD compatible. It does not have manual equalizers only six preset equalizers.
General comments: Overall the Sharp CD XP500W is not a bad system at all for its price. It at least has aux plugs to enhance it with a DVD player, and its simple and practical. I'd give it a six out of ten overall rating. If it had the things I wanted, that it does not have that I mentioned at the bad points, then id be a lot happier with it.
