Learnt to snowboard here, have not found it difficult to find anything whatsoever. Staff are always helpful. Have no idea why people find it hard where to go. It's pretty obvious!

Visited chill factor twice. First time on a Saturday. My girlfriend had to wait 20 minutes for basic skis as none were available. Large queues meant only managed about 5 runs in 1 and a half hours. Next time girlfriend took children but when she reached the top of the drag lift the emergency stop was activated due to a skier falling off at the bottom. As she let go of the drag lift bar to ski away it swung back due to being suddenly stopped and hit her in face causing bruising down whole left si ...

In response to the previous comment, unless you are an experienced Snowboarder or Skier or have completed the instruction course you will be kicked off the slopes. They do watch and won't kick you off for just falling over as I do occasionally. You have to have some control to avoid other people......

If you are booking a childrens party here then pay for extra parents to help out. Our party was a success but only because I paid for 4 Dads to supervise a group of 12 children aged 5-11 years. We only had one party organiser and they were out of their depth. Arrive early and manage the party yourself. We all had fun and everything went to plan and on time but only because we chased things up and ran the party practically ourselves. Book the luge and tube for exclusive use if possible and then y ...

My partner and I went for a 50 min snow boarding taster session at The Chill Factore at 1-1.50 on Monday afternoon. It was brilliant, had lots of fun and learnt a lot in the session. We learnt to balance, turn, jump,

Overall, if you can ski the Chill Factore is great. OK, it's not France or Switzerland but for a fun day out in Manchester it's cool. Make sure you can ski properly before you book on the main slope. The marshalls will ask you to leave otherwise. £17.00 for 1.5 hours of ski-ing I thought was good value. It's about half the price of a Premiership football match. It's good for those who know how to ski and you can take lessons. Kids party food for 'Tubing' and 'tobogganing parties' good valu ...

It's a great day out for the family and there is much more than just skiing to do. Very good overall and finally something for kids to do. The price is a bit steep but its well worth it and its a lot cheaper off peak.

I have been twice now. I live 45 miles away and work during the week so have only been able to go at weekends. Both occasions it has been extremely crowded - in my opinion, overbooked. Both sessions were for 1.5 hours, however the 1st time I went I managed to do 5 runs in that time - when you consider it take 30-45 seconds to ski down from the top, that equates to less than 5 minutes skiing and 1 hour 25 minutes of queuing - sorry but that is ridiculous !! I was also with my 9 year old son wh ...

After reading comments prior to going I really wasn't expecting anything good. But far from it! The snow has a good solid base helping the snow to stay in place, Not like Milton Keynes which can slip away from under your board I found. There was no waiting at lifts, I suppose this must have been due to the time we went 14.30. The slope was virtually empty so we had brilliant time. Access to the lift is unnecessarily long, and awkward. It is supposed to be the longest slope in Britain but with ...

I've (quite literally) just returned from the Chill Factore after a 180 mile round trip to board there and I've come back with mixed feelings. Firstly, I have to say the staff were helpful, the hire gear was of a decent standard and the snow was good. My biggest gripe has to be pathetically inadequate lifts. Who's bright idea was it to install button lifts? There were kids (and adults) falling off them left right and centre but the length of time you have to wait to get on the lifts is total ...

Wanted to really splash out on a big children's birthday party with at least two activities etc. Place looked ideal as although we go to the Snowdome in Tamworth a lot - Manchester's a lot nearer for us. Well we tried to spend loads of money with them, honest we did - umpteen phonecalls, none of which were answered so resorted to emails. Likewise no response until our third finally did get answered! Shame it was THREE months later - I kid you not. Reading the rest of the reviews on here boy am ...

I have been about 8 times since it opened and I have enjoyed it every time, we have only missed about 5-10 mins of our ski time. I am not sure why people cannot seem to find the changing rooms or where you get your ski's & boots because it is pretty obvious once you get through. They have only been open 4 months and you can see that they are trying to improve the organisation to make it better for us skiers.

Absolute garbage! I went with my boyfriend yesterday and we had pre-booked our tickets to go on the slopes. As we arrived there was a power cut so we had to queue up for over half an hour, wondering what the hell was going on. Then someone came up to us and told us where we should go to get our equipment, but didn't even ask us for our reference number so anyone could have just gone in. Then when we went to get our equipment nobody told us where to get it. We were so confused and I don't really ...

Myself and 3 friends booked the slope for one hour and a half and were told to arrive 45 mins before starting and we did. As we got there there was no power so we had to wait for over an hour and a half just to re-book for later that day should the power be back on. We booked for half 2 and the power was finally back on after waiting 3 hours but we only got on the slope past 3 as the queue was so long for clothing and ski's. I fell over twice on the slope during the first 10 minutes and was made ...

Lack of instructions and guidance as to what to do when entering changing rooms. No instruction or questions given or asked by instructor before entering slopes. Totally disorganised and left to get on with it and if having difficulty completely ignored. Found the whole experience to be very poor!

Paid £200 membership fee and have absolutely no proof or acknowledgement of this 4 months later despite numerous requests. Might as well save your cash and blag it when you book.

After explaining that I had been skiing every year for a number of years and after discussion with your staff, my Husband bought a course of lessons as a Christmas present for me. He was advised that the progression course would be the right level and duly paid the £150. Firstly, on attempting to trade the course for a couple of private lessons which I thought would be of more benefit to me, I was told that this could not be done. So after much deliberation, I finally agreed to sign on ...
