Good Points: A lot of screen real estate for the price (£403 from Pixmania, though it's now £474 at time of writing). All cables necessary were included in the box, including a DVI-HDMI. Display is a nice 1920x1200 so good for those without uber graphics cards (required for 2560x1600 30" screens). And of course, good if your eyesight isn't fond of tiny icons. But primarily, it's about the most screen size for the money and at the moment (Nov 07) it can't be beat!
Bad Points: TN Screen doesn't give wide viewing angles and good colour reproduction of more expensive S-IPS models. No USB hub. Controls are at the side where the functions can't be readily deduced. No DVI. Even 1920x1200 makes graphics look pixellated when they're blown up to such a mega size; and it's slightly overwhelming when you're sitting close to it (rather than several feet away as with a HDTV). Only the one HDMI socket unfortunately.
General comments: If you're slightly strapped for cash but would like a big monitor for games and viewing films, the HannsG HG281D is pretty decent. The Viewsonic version retails at a much higher price point and the next step up, a 30", means a doubling of your investment. If you're not a perfectionist about video displays (eg a graphic designer etc) I don't think you can really complain about the value for money...
