Good Points: Looks amazing.
Bad Points: Scales horribly in my opinion. Too demanding on hardware. Lack luster in gameplay
General comments: Crysis was supposed to be the game that redefined the shooter genre. Unfortunately it is a big disappointment for me personally.
I first got the game on the release date. It was unplayable, with any settings above the absolute lowest. My computer isn't slow. a 2.5GHz athlon X2 dual core processor and radeon 3870 should be able to play this game on medium settings, but they couldn't.
With the first patch came some hope. The performance improved, but not by much.
The game does look positively amazing if you can get it to play, but the constant jutters make it impossible to enjoy on high settings. On anything lower than high it looks poor. This game does not scale well to lower settings. My suspicion is that the game was rushed and poorly coded. When you compare it to other, better coded games released around that time (particularly Call of Duty 4, which looks almost as good, but plays infinitely better), you really notice how disappointing the performance is.
I'm not one to judge a game purely on its appearance, though. Crysis is a decent shooter, but without the graphics it is nothing to write home about. The nano-suit makes it far too easy, the scenarios are uninspired and the overall feel of the game isn't quite there. It feels like more of a chore to play than a joy.
If you are lucky enough to have a computer which will allow you to play the game on full settings then you will probably have a very enjoyable experience, simply because of the visuals. If, like me, you are forced to compromise the visual quality for performance, then you will be disappointed with the look of the game, and the vanilla gameplay will shine through.

I wish ACTIVISION would get there act to gether like STEAM platform servers. I do recommend Crysis, however it could be bettered as so could Call of Duty 4.

Amazing Graphics and explosion shock waves are very fun to watch. Blowing up a helicopter with a rocket launcher is very satisfying. Nano suit can makes this game easy but without it, the game would be impossible/extremely hard. The hardness settings on Crysis do not seem to make the game any harder, just changes the langauage the koreans speak. The story line is good and is easily playable again and again as the game can be played in different ways. For a multi player it does not compare to Cal ...

This game is great if you have a very high end PC with DX10. I found this game virtually unplayable most of the time, unless I have it at 800x600 res on all low... My system should be able to play this game with no problems on LOW settings.I suspect many of the pre-release screen shots of the game were tweaked/modded somehow. I have screen screen shots from users on the highest spec PC you can buy, yet it looks nowhere near as good as the screen shots released by Crytek. The game play itself is t ...
