Good Points: Nothing
Bad Points: Everything
General comments: Really poor signal for 18 months with Setanta Sports, and after 18 months of calling abut this they decide they might have sent me a faulty card at the start. I am now trying to cancel which is a nightmare. I cancelled my direct debit as I dont owe them any money and dont trust them to take any more(they've taken extra from me before and wont repay it). Now being told I'm not allowed to cancel unless I have a valid direct debit set up, ow ridiculous. They have text me asking me to ring them, why cant they ring me? It's because they want me to call their 0871 number and be on there for 30minutes. Never ever use this company, I am one of thousands as I have read reviews like this on other websites

If you just cancel your direct debit with Setanta Sports cos you're having problems getting anywhere with them [ you cant cancel a card ] you'll find you are still receiving their transmission even months after.
i was still connected 6 months before getting letters asking for bank details. put a note in telling them i had already canceled
. then aggressive chap who only wanted bank details and would not listen any explanation that tried to make phoned me.he got me so mad i hung up

The picture quality is attrocious, especially on fast moving scenes. Watching football is like trying to watch a 1980's computer game through a dirty window. Setanta Sports is not worth the subscription - it would be painful to watch even if it was free.- Read Guest's review (44 words)

This company are the worst I have ever dealt with. At one point I had Setanta acknowledging my account was closed and settled in full whilst their third party call centre was threatening legal action claiming I still owed money and it would affect my credit rating, to cap it off if you stand your ground they just hang up on you. Nice!- Read tafer2uk's review (83 words and 1 comment)

Dreadful! Signed up for Setanta for Chelsea match but did not receive signal. After at least 2 hours on the phone, 6 customer service agents, still no joy and they were disputing giving a refund.- Read Guest's review (35 words)

I signed up to Setanta Sports in November 2008 using a CAM plug in. After 11 seperate attempts on the phone with Setanta trying to get it to work, I returned the CAM and card, and requested they reimburse me for the cost of the CAM and subscription. To date after eight calls to their office in Glasgow and head office, I am still waiting for refund. They do not even have the decency to contact me to say what their problem is.- Read nemphlar's review (98 words)

Only premium sports channel available on Freeview, so if you want to watch some premiership football etc, its the only choice!
I enjoy Setanta sports but wish I could get Sky sports instead. There was a plan to offer it on Freeview but that has been cancelled. So we are stuck with Setanta; its not bad, but picture quality is very poor.- Read Guest's review (69 words)

Picture quality is awful ! thats when you can get a picture, customer service is like talking to a brick wall ! I was told the picture quality was poor as the amount of phonecalls they received effected the quality ?? Sky Sports is the king and will remain so for a long time! Must try Harder Setanta Sports!!!- Read ianmacca99's review (61 words)

I would strongly advise people to have nothing to do with Setanta Sports as in my opinion it should not be allowed to trade in the manner that it is. Having paid by debit card it seems to think that it has the right to take money out of you account at will then makes up the policy for payments to suit. One person told me it was one month in advance another two months and even when I cancelled they continued to take money. There is no customer service department, once you key in the customer serv ...- Read Guest's review (132 words)

I had the service for about 9 months to watch NRL. Apart from poorer quality picture and some signal outtages which (giving benefit of doubt could have been due to weather conditions) everything seemed ok. But when I came to cancel I had a bad experience I feel. I'll never be subscribing again its not worth it for me. No TV coverage is worth it my opinion. I subscribed by credit card which (according to my bank) means setanta have to acknowledge cancellation, I ended up cancelling my credit card ...- Read The Sa1nt's review (146 words)

Where do I start? I subscribed to Setanta sports paying an initial subscription of £9.99.. after a month they increased it to £12.99 without informing me.
When I wanted to cancel they first offered me another deal, which i did not take up. They then asked me to call later "As our cancellation department is currently closed". I called later and they transferred me to another person, which i am assuming is someone at the same call center rather than another department. This person j ...- Read rianamit's review (281 words and 1 comment)

Terrible service, really poor quality reception even though the free channel setanta sports is OK! Never get good reception for live events and cant watch many of them. When I contact customer services they dont want to know and send out the mystery 'signal boost' which practically makes no difference. I think that they will be bust soon because they are profiteering on the short term and not looking after customers. They want to continue taking money out of your bank without having to address c ...- Read smith262's review (94 words)

These people do not appear to deal with cancellations and there is no info on their website to tell you how to cancel. This is rubbish e-commerce standard in fact non existent. They shouldnt be trading in my opinion. Where are the guys who regulate people like this? Also if you call them you are kept hanging on so they are making even more money from their 0871 number. Dont deal with these people.- Read Guest's review (73 words)

The worst company I have ever dealt with! Staff not clear on things, I am now advising my bank to dispute and get refund. I'd rather sit in a pub, not drink and take the Mrs. & mother-in-law & watch the game than ever use this again! However they can still trade like this is beyond me!- Read Bill Banks's review (87 words)

This is a great company if you're ready to cancel all bank accounts and create new ones just to get this bunch of numpties off your back!!Satanta Sports is one of the worst businesses that I have ever had the back luck to experience, in my opinion!!
Poor customer services, not following up on requests, time on thold, staff not knowing/dealing with situations.
My advice - go and watch the football in the pub!!!!- Read GrumpyGarna's review (76 words)
