Good Points: Clean, comfortable, spacious, friendly
Bad Points: Not on the beach.
General comments: I have now stayed twice at this relatively new Guest House owned by a friendly pair of Londoners, Paul and Diane Collins. It is an immaculate house with just three rooms to rent and a cute honeymoon cottage, set in a beautiful garden with a large usually empty pool. It is 25 minutes from the airport, near Margao for shopping and a few miles from Marjorda beach. The house is the cleanest most comfortable place I have stayed in Goa with a lovely combination of European minamalism and Indian opulence in the decor. Diane provides a host of thoughtful touches - guide books, Scrabble, sun cream for sale, pool side icecreams, snacks and soft drinks, mini-fridges in the rooms and lots of sound local knowledge. Breakfast is served by the pool by Sunny a nice guy from Uttaranchal who works for the Collins. There are well-maintained bicycles for hire to cycle on the leafy lanes around the house. Hardly any mosquitoes despite being by the river because Diane keeps things so clean. There are a few local bars and restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are all AC and ceiling fan with private marble shower rooms. About £30-35.00 per night for two B&B including airport pick up. A real home from home - though come to think of it it's much better than my home!!
