    Good Points: Comfort, level of equipment, naturally easy to drive.


    Bad Points: Lack of torque, automatic lights that go on and off two or three times before making their mind up, cruise control that needs to be reset every time you slow done and is slow to pick up speed on resume. Sat nav not as good as a £100 TomTom. Only six digit post codes and no way to add "safety" cameras.


    General comments: I had a 2.0 tdi Skoda Octavia and moved to the Avensis. On paper the peformance and fuel consumption are virtually the same. In practice lack of torque means lots of gear changes on A-roads and fuel consumption almost 10mpg down on the Octavia. It is comfortable to drive and if I bought this before the Octavia it would probably have been fine. My wife has an automatic 1.6 petrol Scenic and loves the Avensis. The Octavia jolted her neck when she accelerated! Say no more. Would I buy another? No. Do I regret buying this one. In spite of BIG dealer discount, yes.
