The whole experience at Doubletake was rushed and not very glamourous or VIP treatment at all, and it was a case of one in and one out. The staff were very unprofessional and rude. The stylist and make over were inexperienced freelancers and were not even able to straighten hair with hair straighters. There was no real discussions on the look to be achieved and I could have done a better job with the hair and make up myself! We had to changing into 3 outfits and were rushing throughout and there was no discussions on how we wanted our photo's to look...i.e. family, glamour, stylish, retro etc and the photographer had his own ideas of facial and body poses- not appreciating that not all people have the same body shape and may even want to smile in a photographs!
The whole experience was a disappointment, and we were rushed into chosing photo's which all had additional costs!!

Today a friend and i went for a Double take make over and photoshoot at the Manchester Studios. i was very dubious about the day due to the horrible reviews i have read about them! luckily, i was pleasantly surprised and have had an incredible day, although i am shattered!.
the make over was brilliant, the girl curled my hair and then to her horror i said i wanted a full set of clip in extensions curled too. she was great about it though and did it with no fuss - she even showed me how to clip ...- Read Guest's review (646 words)

I think that the double take studio in manchester was a really good experience. It takes the whole day and I think they should inform people about that before they arrive as we thought wed just be there for a few hours. The makeup is really heavy but it does look good in the photos. I dont think that the hair styling is the best so if you want your hair like mega straight for the shoot , i would advise that you do most of it yourself before you arrive. The photographers seem really nice, mine wa ...- Read Guest's review (277 words)

Our fun day at Double Take Manchester. We arrived and were seated in leather couches where we could help ourselves to coffee, canned drinks and nibbles like crisps and mini chocolate bars. We were given a form to fill in about our hair and make-up and what style of photography we wanted. Then we waited for 30-40 mins and were taken to have our hair aznd make-up done. They said you get a facial and a hand massage but to be honest all they did was rub some cream in. Still, the hair and make-up was ...- Read ashleypashley's review (394 words)

My son bought me a shoot for my Birthday. The makeup and photos were nice but I never received the ones paid for. They told me they had lost them and offered me another shoot. I went the photos were not as good and they were pressuring me to buy more. Again I never received any photos so two trips made from Suffolk and two wasted days. They never replied to any emails and just fobbed me off on the phone. I just gave up in the end.( London Salon)- Read jacqui19's review (90 words)

I think that Professional Photoshoots are a great present idea for christmas. The make-over and photoshoot usually take up a morning or afternoon but I think its a great present cuase its different, it can really put a smile on someones face and make them feel special. They can quite costly depending on where you go and some photographers may be more "questionable" that others so research them first.
On the whole though a great present, I would love one of these myself.- Read Guest's review (83 words)

I received a phone call from double take studios for a Professional Makeover & Photo Shoot, after my sister had put my name down as a recommendation. It sounded great on the phone and I decided to book as it was only a £1 booking fee. The next day I went to book the time off work, but I could get the time off and the weeks after that time I was going on holiday so there was no way I could make the appointment. I called the booking/cancellation line so many times, it must have been about 2 ...- Read ochloeo's review (291 words)

My partner's daughter was approached by this Professional Makeover £ Photo Shoot company, Doubletake, who were doing a promotion. Free photographic sitting, with an option to buy the photos. Sounds good. Nice day out. All the details were taken over the phone and she needed to pay 1 pound for registration. Stupidly I allowed her to use my debit card for this payment. She then realised that it would be very difficult for her to attend, as she actually has no transport. So she tried to cance ...- Read sara connolly's review (366 words and 1 comment)
