I lost my job and needed to put my car off the road I tried to contact the company to suspend my Fully comp insurance, after over 50 minutes of phonecalls (£2.50) and 2 failed attempts by the company to take money from my account (I incurred £90 worth of fees despite my mother trying to make the payments by phone). I have 2 options pay up the policy £564.83 or pay cancellation + fees total £338.63 neither of which I can afford and the customer advisor couldn't even give me an address to write to...can't even sell the car to pay it off as it's worth less than I owe and if I find another job I'll need it!! MY advice DON'T USE IBUYECO if there's even the slightest chance you may need to end (or suspend) your policy early.Wanted to give 0 rating for service but it seems I can't.

This company is all out to take your money, I wanted to swap my insurance over to buisness class that most insurers do it for free and they quoted me £180 i tried to cancel my monthly bill with them and they told me it would cost 280 pounf to cancel now. it is the worst insurers ive ever been with so DO NOT GO WITH I BUY ECO they look like they do the cheapest quote but they will rip you off in the long run :(

They took out money from my accopunt without asking. They have been promising to refund for the past two months and I am still waiting. These guys sound good but they lack promises.

I've about 9 months ago, I settled a no-fault claim with my insurance company ( I Buy Eco ) and was surprised with the level of customer service I received from them, and how smooth my claim was. My partner is currently with Direct Line, and have to say, un-happy is a polite term I would use in public. She was recently in a minor accident where a car went into the back of her, so again, a no fault claim, but when her car was taken to the garage to be fixed, they assessed it as being repairable ...

Diabolical at everything except taking your money. If you are currently considering buying car insurance, don't touch these guys with a barge pole. I had to cancel my fully comp car insurance policy with them and am still waiting for the refund, despite several telephone calls at my expense to chase them up. They acknowledge their mistake but haven't offered any apology and won't give me an explanation. Also their "incidental" charges are astronomical, seriously guys don't do it, there are MUCH ...

I am disgusted with I Buy Eco!!! the customer service is appalling!

i had no contact with the insurer during my policy as i didnt make any claims, however after my policy expired i called to ensure it hadnt been renewed automically as i hadnt recieved any paperwork or calls.

i spoke to a very rude advisor who told me my policy had renewed and was now an extra £20 per month. when i asked to cancel i was told it would cost be my deposit and a canellation fee!!! this was over £100.

    i ...

Bought car insurance on the 20/08/2009, found it was unsuitable cancelled on 21/08/09, (less than 24hrs later) i am now on 2/9/09 still waiting for my deposit to be refunded into my bank account, I found their call centre staff cheeky, unhelpful and quite ignorant, i will certainly never use or recommend I Buy Eco again

Terrible company. Customer Service was rubbish. Am writting this as definitely going with another company, would NEVER recommend 'I Buy Eco Car Insurance' to anyone. Am currently making a claim, and the review of my premium is ridiculous.

Total shambles, would never recommend i buy eco car to my worst enemy twice I changed my car and twice they informed me that they would have to change to another "underwriter" each time more money required not just a few pence either,if I cancelled they took a large percentage and admin fee, this time cut my losses tried to charge me 745.00 to use another "underwriter" took 145.00 cancellation fee and 35.00 admin fee in the end just cancelled to get rid of them and found another insurance compan ...

I Buy Eco car insurance -
Terrible company. Any changes to the policy cost an massive £25, doesn't matter what you want to change or why. I need to add business cover so I could could continue my work for a charity, in the past this has been added for free by a number of insurance providers - I buy eco are not like other providers, and take, take, take - so that cheap quote quickly becomes an expensive mistake.
The customer service is lousy, an 0870 number, though a free phone does exist ...

Took out insurance with ibuyeco because they offered the cheapest quote. Added a second car and paid installments monthly. Sold car after 3 months - tried to cancel policy but was told I'd have to pay the full annual premium! Was advised to keep policy in case I bought another car. Was told this was standard practice with all car insurers. Clearly it is not! Why should I pay insurance premiums on a car I no longer own?

I was previously insured with Churchill but changed to i buy eco when I wanted my wife as an added driver. I had no problems with them for 6 months but then again, I had no cause to contact them. As my old Fiesta started to blow out smoke all over the place I bought a newer car and paid ibuyeco about £30 to have the vehicle details changed on my insurance (this was to be expected) but when informed that my premium would be trebled I cancelled and went back to Churchill (again though, I had ...

I was insured with I Buy Eco Car Insurance. One day, while stationary, I was involved in a 7 car pileup. (truck ploughed into 7 stationary cars).

While it was being resolved my renewal came up - they tripled my insurance from £450 to £1300. I paid it as they told me it would be the same everywhere with an open claim.

When the truck accepted liability and i got my excess back I called them up to ask them to adjust my policy back down - they replied "best we can do is £1200". ...

A warning that they do not make clear on subscribing!! Through no fault of my own a tree landed on my car as I drove, I now need to cancell by policy with this unfriendly insurance company. Impossible,
'I Buy Eco' require me to pay a cancellation fee of £35.00 and with 7 months left of the policy they want an additional £52.00 which is a short term fee. A total of £87.00 when I've been paying only £17.00 per month.

I buy eco are terrible! I called to find out updated quote as I changed my vehicle. The quote was very high, so I said I would shop around elsewhere and asked if I would get full reimbursement of the rest of my policy - to which they said yes. However when I booked with another company they went back on their word and put on loads of charges that used up the rest of the money I would have got back. I complained and asked for the recording of the first conversation I had with them about this - wh ...

Would just to like to agree with all these reviews. Just bought a new car, their quote was way over others so I wanted to cancel but they wanted to charge me £75 so it wasn't worth changing. Then 'I Buy Eco Car Insurance' have charged me £25 for making changes...certainly will not be renewing my policy with them.

I Buy Eco is undoubtedly the worst Insurance Company we have every come across. They automatically take out the following years fee without permission and when questioned, abrubtly tell you "its in the Contract". We found many more companies cheaper and switched policy after our first year with them. Afterwards they refused to refund our money until we provived them with the cover note they send out automatically after they have taken your money. When returned, the time elapsed counts as time co ...
