I bought my son a i-teddy for his birthday after seeing it on Dragons den 3 years ago. Loved it, the concept is great but after about a 3 month of play it would not charge anymore and it kept freezing and the only way to get it to work was to let the battery run flat. Argos replaced it and then we were back in business only it went wrong again, the same issue. I wrote to iteddy and they replaced the unit rather than the actual teddy. Then after another period of time it went wrong again but by this time it was over 12 months and out of warrenty. My point being is the product is terrible and I felt the after service was pretty shocking. DON'T buy this product, as much as I think the idea fab its let down by poor quality and bad aftercare. My son as moved on now but he loved it and was very disapointed that his toy kept going wrong! : ((((

my kids just love this - very cute. I cant see why anyone can complain there are alot worse products on the market. Cant understand why kids toys are so expensive. i love the featuers and the games.

This is a terrible toy. I bought it for my son for Christmas and it constantly freezes. Yesterday I noticed the teddy had a crack on the screen, I asked my son, and he said he threw it at a wall because he couldnt get it to work. I dont blame him. But now I cant even send it back. My advice is dont waste your money.

The screen is a digital display and the toy seems a cuddly. The iTeddy website runs on Internet explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, so is accessible from most of the widely used web browsers which is useful if you like to use more then one. From what I can tell the iTeddy can be a present for children

Brought an iTeddy for my niece for Xmas battery life after a full charge is about 1 hour being used constantly the bear works better as a heater than a media player!

I bought an iTeddy two years ago and the web site has not changed since it was first brought out. I lost my login details due to a PC refresh and now if I try to re-register you get an error message "Whoops! An error has occured when trying to access one of the iTeddy pages. Please try again." The company see to have made their money and then given up on the product altogether. Do not buy a new one ... you will be disappointed.

We bought our son a iteddy for has birthday he really loved it and never left his side it even helped him go to sleep at night. so we thought we were on to a winner at first. then things started to go wrong with it the screen would freeze and it wouldn't charge so we took it back to where we got it. they replaced it i was glad they did as my son was upset that i had to take it back however the new won was ok for about 3 months then the same thing happened again this time we called the company and they told us to send it to their repair department after about 3weeks i called them amd told me they were waiting on parts to fix the problem they sent it back the following week telling me they can't fix it we were very disappionted at the way this was handle buy the company.

AAAAAARGH! I bought this infuriating toy back in February '10 for my 3 year old and its been nothing but problematic. What's worse is that I paid over the odds for a special edition pink one. £45 wasted.
Once we figured out how to fix the "freezing" (pressing certain buttons in combo to reset it) the charger decided to become tempramental and only charge when it wanted to. Now the computer doesnt see the connection at all so we cant put any songs or movies onto it.
Thinking that it was the safer option, we had purchased it directly through the website iTeddy.com so that if any problems arose then we wouldnt have to deal with a 3rd party. How wrong could I have been. I called the number on the website (Some place in Essex) I was told to contact the number on the website I had bought it from. I told her I WAS calling the number on the site. No joy. She told me to look through the paperwork and call the distributor. Only other number I found was the warranty registration card number. I called it and got: "MIKAH EYEWEAR"of Bolton, suppliers of optometry equipment!!!
If the official paperwork for this award winning, innovative and quite frankly, expensive must-have toy shares it's telephone line industrial estate unit in Bolton, then I would suggest that everyone steer clear!

We bought the ITeddy for our son in 2007 after he was born at the very high retail price. We hardly used it for the first year and a half. As he got older he got more into his music and dvd's. However after installing the newer software the bear didnt work - luckily hubby is a computer engineer so managed to sort it himself. The battery doesn't charge so we have to leave it plugged in and the lead is very short - and not very safe. What I hate is my son's disappointment when i can't play the teddy for bed because it wont hold the charge - i'm not going to keep the teddy plugged in 24/7. Don't bother buying - it should be a great gimmick but it's not worth the disappointment - although now the price is considerably less than what we paid for it!!! The website is not updated and it seems this chap is not about customer realtions and sorting out the gremlins and giving value for money! He's out to line his pockets by sucking you in with a cheaper retail price! It would be much easier to use an I pod with speakers, a cd player or a tv than use the ITeddy! Plus the tshirt gets in the way and you have to remove it to view and the screen is tiny and not easy to see from a small idstance away. I dont think it's child friendly at all!
My advice - don't buy!!!

I got an iTeddy for my daughter after seeing it on Dragons Den, like most people probably did on here. We took it away with us recently after downloading a lot of content on to it and it kept her entertained throughout our trip, which was the aim of it!
Since we've been back, she's not really picked it up again and I get the feeling, it may well just sit in the corner and not be touched again until I find the time to download her some more stuff! If she was old enough herself to do it, it would be great, I guess that's maybe the drawback!
Anyway, overall it was great whilst it lasted, if I can get her to pick it up and use it again, maybe this review will improve!

ITEDDY REVIEW
I bought two of these iteddys for my 2 1/2 year old, and 4 1/2 year old at Christmas 2009.
These are one of the best things that I have ever got them. They like to have the teddy in bed with them and they watch one of their favourite programmes that I have copied from their dvd collections. It has a sleep timer, so it turns off itself after either 10, 20 or 30 minutes. Also has a "quiet mode" which means the volume can not be turned up past a limit set by the teddy. This again helps at bedtime.
The software is easy to download from the iteddy website, and easy to rip the dvd you want, and convert onto the iteddy. I have purchased two SD cards in order to have extra memory and make more space on the them, and it holds plenty. When my children get fed up with their programmes, just remove them off the iteddy, and place new programmes on. Many a night that my 2 1/2 year old has been unsettled, and give her the iteddy and put Mickey Mouse on, and off she goes softly to sleep.
I can't rave enough about them. I have not tried out the games or anything, just got them to put kids programmes on. With regards to value for money, I purchased these on offer for £19.99 at T J Hughes, not sure I would of paid much more than that, as I needed the two.
I have not given this 5 star, as there is one thing that niggles me.. the connector from the PC to the bear is delicate when putting it into the bear. It does say on the box to get an adult to connect up, I had a fault with mine after a week. Spoke to iteddy who stated sent the media player back and it will get fixed. This did, and was back with us within a week, with all the programmes that I downloaded on it still, so that was good. Good customer service.

My 3 year old daughter had this for Xmas and I have to agree with one person who has wrote a review,if you know nothing about computers then this maybe difficult, however the software that comes with it is a little slow converting the files that you have downloaded but is very easy to use! When it is converted there is no problem.I would recommend to everyone to put the 2GB SD card into the side of the bear as this will allow more music and videos to be stored on it.My daughter loves and every week since Xmas I have changed the music or videos to keep her interested.
Great Product!

iteddy is great the converter software for files easy to use and ya dnt need to download of the iteddy wesite you can dowload anythin in any format from any site youtube or anythin and convert the downloaded file using the iteddy converter from the oficial iteddy wesite my 10 month old, 2 year old and 4year old love this it was defernetly my best buy yet. Would highly recomend to any 1. one more thing you do-not have to download things from the iteddy website only the converter. after installing the converter just any file downloaded and wanting to covert to put on a iteddy just click on downloaded file and drag to the iteddy pic on the program then click star and the completed file will go on a folder made on the desktop. Really simple honestly.

got it as a Christmas present for our daughter, downloaded the software but there was no iTeddy icon to drag the converted files to, it took a while just to learn how to convert the files, too complicated to operate even for an adult. Would not recommend.
