I bought my son a i-teddy for his birthday after seeing it on Dragons den 3 years ago. Loved it, the concept is great but after about a 3 month of play it would not charge anymore and it kept freezing and the only way to get it to work was to let the battery run flat. Argos replaced it and then we were back in business only it went wrong again, the same issue. I wrote to iteddy and they replaced the unit rather than the actual teddy. i bought my brother an iteddy for his birthday. he enjoys playing with it but it keeps freezing. and then you have to wait for like one hour for it work again. i wouldnt recommend you buy it. (read more)

“Iteddy dont waste your money”

This is a terrible toy. I bought it for my son for Christmas and it constantly freezes. Yesterday I noticed the teddy had a crack on the screen, I asked my son, and he said he threw it at a wall because he couldnt get it to work. I dont blame him. But now I cant even send it back. My advice is dont waste your money. (read more)

The screen is a digital display and the toy seems a cuddly. The iTeddy website runs on Internet explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, so is accessible from most of the widely used web browsers which is useful if you like to use more then one. I bought an iTeddy two years ago and the web site has not changed since it was first brought out. I lost my login details due to a PC refresh and now if I try to re-register you get an error message "Whoops! An error has occured when trying to access one of the iTeddy pages. Please try again." The company see to have made their money and then given up on the product altogether. Do not buy a new one ... you will be disappointed. (read more)

AAAAAARGH! I bought this infuriating toy back in February '10 for my 3 year old and its been nothing but problematic. What's worse is that I paid over the odds for a special edition pink one. £45 wasted.
Once we figured out how to fix the "freezing" (pressing certain buttons in combo to reset it) the charger decided to become tempramental and only charge when it wanted to. Now the computer doesnt see the connection at all so we cant put any songs or movies onto it.

We bought the ITeddy for our son in 2007 after he was born at the very high retail price. We hardly used it for the first year and a half. As he got older he got more into his music and dvd's. However after installing the newer software the bear didnt work - luckily hubby is a computer engineer so managed to sort it himself. The battery doesn't charge so we have to leave it plugged in and the lead is very short - and not very safe. What I hate is my son's disappointment when i can't play the... (read more)

I got an iTeddy for my daughter after seeing it on Dragons Den, like most people probably did on here. We took it away with us recently after downloading a lot of content on to it and it kept her entertained throughout our trip, which was the aim of it!

ITEDDY REVIEW
I bought two of these iteddys for my 2 1/2 year old, and 4 1/2 year old at Christmas 2009.
These are one of the best things that I have ever got them. They like to have the teddy in bed with them and they watch one of their favourite programmes that I have copied from their dvd collections. It has a sleep timer, so it turns off itself after either 10, 20 or 30 minutes. Also has a "quiet mode" which means the volume can not be turned up past a limit set by the teddy. This...

My 3 year old daughter had this for Xmas and I have to agree with one person who has wrote a review,if you know nothing about computers then this maybe difficult,however the software that comes with it is a little slow converting the files that you have downloaded but is very easy to use! When it is converted there is no problem.I would recommend to everyone to put the 2GB SD card into the side of the bear as this will allow more music and videos to be stored on it.My daughter loves and... iteddy is great the converter software for files easy to use and ya dnt need to download of the iteddy wesite you can dowload anythin in any format from any site youtube or anythin and convert the downloaded file using the iteddy converter from the oficial iteddy wesite my 10 month old, 2 year old and 4year old love this it was defernetly my best buy yet. got it as a Christmas present for our daughter, downloaded the software but there was no iTeddy icon to drag the converted files to, it took a while just to learn how to convert the files, too complicated to operate even for an adult. Would not recommend. (read more)

I bought this iTeddy for my daughter for christmas last year (she was four at the time) she loves it (still) only downside is that it hasn't got much memory and it says you can download your favourite dvds onto it but i still haven't managed to download one that is compatible yet. Saying that it's very easy to download music and photos on to it :) (read more)

I love this iTeddy gadget even more than my two-year old does! Purchased this on a half price offer at Sainsbury's and it only cost £15, but it is well worth the money at full price. The software is easy to install and songs and videos are easy to convert and transfer to the teddy. The battery seems to last ages, and all you have to do is plug in the USB cable provided to your PC to recharge the battery.
I found a free software online that lets you rip videos from You Tube. There are tons...

I bought one of these as an xmas gift, and its proved invaluable.
My 7 year old niece has had it read to her every night since then, she loves it like a pet.
Most bad reviews here are based on a lack of basic computer understanding (like not even being able to convert simple video files - i mean, come on, the software included does it for you and is written for 4 year olds to use!! you can convert full DVD films using basic other software, and music instantly plays...

What a waste of money - you cannot download anything from their website, the BBC i Player downloads in the wrong format and cannot be converted and the DVD ripper doesnt work either.
No wonder the prices on the iTeddy have been slashed.

I brought an ITeddy for my daughter for christmas, for the first month it was great until I downloaded the software needed from the ITeddy site. After installing the software, on two different computers, I found neither computer would recognise the ITeddy. We did exchange the product however the next ITeddy did the same. Also I found the ITeddy 'Help Line' was no help. I'm glad to see I am not the only one who was sucked in by this product. Get a 'Leap Frog' product instead. (read more)

took 3 months to get working wouldnt work via iteddys belly etc so gave up on that, discovered by chance on windows media player when i plugged in iteddy it reconised it and i easily downloaded music and copy cds and photos works like a dream,my little boy whos waited since christmas is very pleased,i havnt tried dvds yet but im happy just with the music and pics at the mo.i also added a sd memory card and windows media player gives you the option if you want to store on the internal or... My daughters iTeddy has been sent back 2 times for repair with the same faults - screen freezes, switches itself off, not recognised by any pc once it has switched itself off. Personally, I think you are better off getting your children a portable dvd player or mp4 player. (read more)

I am just really pleased with my iTeddy purchases. Will get one for my 6 year old grandaughter for her birthday as well. On the battery I did fully charge it prior to giving it to them as well as already had the SD cards in the bears so he was ready to play with when they recieved him. (read more)

i gave iTeddy to my 2 yr old niece and she loves it. you can rip your own dvd's and the software that comes with it will convert it to the right format. i ended up deleting all the shows that came with it and replaced it with what my niece really wanted. well worth it so far. (read more)

My daughter (2) received an iTeddy one for xmas, same as other reviews, XP doesn't recognise, spent over an hour trying before looking for these reviews, which confirmed it's not me but the stupid teddy. I work in IT, and can't believe how they they have not tested that this works on the most commonly used platforms. It says on the box that it is compatible with XP. Great concept, shame they can't match with functionality! (read more)

I brought an iTeddy for my daughter the first Christmas it was out, wish I had just brought her a nice MP4 player would have used it more. The downloads from the site are awful, and can't download anything else to it. Phoned the company to find out if there was anything I could do, they were very unhelpful.
The downloads cost £3.49 for 10 minutes for a cartoon my daughter has never even heard of.

Have only used the iTeddy for one day. At this point would not recommend it to anyone. Should have listened to the reviews. My computer doesn't recognise it. The battery has stopped working (although I guess we should have charged it first thing but out daughter grabbed and started using it straight away). Have read lots of bad reviews (read more)

Two massive failures: the first is that my Windows XP pc did not recognize the iteddy. It is recommended that you use Vista but I don't have that. The second is that you have to download an update (the drivers) from iteddy.com - sadly if your pc does not recognize the iteddy you have no idea which of the four drivers to choose. Don't take the risk is my advice. Mine is going back tomorrow (Xmas Eve!!) and I now have to think of an alternative present for my 5 year old. Thank god I tested it... (read more)

Really dissapointed with the iTeddy. Screen is tiny so my little girl got bored quite quickly. There is a choice of only 2 series to download from iteddy site and no games available so it is down to you to find material. Managed to download lots from bbc i player and after about 15 failed attempts managed to finally convert the material successfully with i teddy convertor, but then it did not work on the bear. My sister has had exactly the same probs. Wish I could take it back!!!! (read more)

I have had the iTeddy for 2 years and upgraded software online no probs, just wish you could have a battery back up. The iTedyy is great, i can play movies and songs on it to keep the kids entertained. The only problem is that the battery doesnt last long enough and it takes a long time to fully change (read more)

I have had notyhing but problems with my iTeddy. The screen keeps freezing and crashing. I cannot get the computer to acknowledge that the iTeddy is connected with it either. I think the computer just decides itself whetehr it want to do it or not. Its a bit hit and miss At first it worked fine but basically each time we connect it to the computer we have to deal with a new set of problems. (read more)

Saw it on a repeat of Dragons Den and thought that it looked like a lovely gift. What a waste of time. Didn't work properly from the begginning, and my 6 year old son thought it was stupid, and for girls. He wanted a proper ipod!
Get your kids a proper music player, and or, a nice teddy. You just cant kill 2 birds with 1 stone all of the time.

are you using internet explorer ... i know some websites don't work on some web browsers it should work with internet explorer though ... it works fine on my laptop
