I have bought tis product as my Remington straightners broke. It is very easy to use and the temperature is just right. It reaches the maximum temperature in about 30s, which is very good. I don't like the fact that it doesn't beep/flash when it's ready. I just think it's a good thing in the straightners/curlers. I also wish it would come with a heat proof mat however I could have chosen to buy a different straightner. I mainly bought it because it had ceramic plates and it had pieces of diamonds in it. However it only gives shine to your hair for about a month and then it doesn't. A bit useless I think. It's very good for curling your hair, which I like o do as well. The only thing that I am very upset with is the fact that the outside cover cracked about a month after I bought it. I have not dropped it so I don't know why that happened. I have been using it for over a year now and pieces of the cracked cover are starting to peel off which than gets into my hair and pulls them out. Quite painfull. The only thing that really annoys me really is the fact that the dirt/product (I don't really know) is left on the plates and is really hard to get off. It than builds up and results in the straightners not meeting together properly :S I never had that trouble with Remingtons. Overall ok, but not amazing. I'm not recomending them to anyone because I think you can getbetter value for the money you pay than this.

I've owned alot of hair straightners, both cheap and expensive($40 - $300) and this straightner is by far the worst one I've ever owned. It pulled on individual strands of hair as I was straightening and it felt like it was tearing my hair out, and despite the high temperature, it took three times to get my hair straight, and I have fine hair. The temperature and on/off buttons are right where your hand goes when using, so I had to keep checking it was on. Philips TS Salon Shine Diamond is the w ...
