After being let down the week before my wedding because when my dress arrived from overseas it was too small. A friend recommended Celebration village and I was not disappointed. I tried on a selection of dresses and Lindsay was on a mission to find me 'the' dress and not only did she do that but as the dress was too big was able to arrange a fitting, alterations (by their inhouse seamstress) and a final fitting all within 3 days. The dress was gorgeous and a perfect fit. It was such a... (read more)

I can't understand why there are so many negative reviews on this site. I ordered my dress very late but it still arrived on time. The service was excellent and they made me feel very special when I went for my fitting. The dress was perfect and fit me exactly, and they even attached a loop so that I could pin up the train free of charge! We also hired 5 suits from celebration village and the service was second to none. I would recommend that anyone use celebration village, as they helped to... (read more)

Celebration village is a huge store where you will fing everything for your wedding day, i originally went in to ask about chair cover hire but ended up looking at the dresses which they have a very wide selection so i later made a appointment to try some on. The Lady was very helpfull and friendley and i did choose a dress that day. it was only after i looked at reviews about this shop and then was worried with what i was reading but the dress was orderd and it is made clear that deposits... Buy a wedding dress from this shop has been the most stressful experience of my life! From start to finish my experiences with them were horrific. After having ordered the dress I then moved to London which made going back to Manchester for fittings more difficult. I made this very clear to the shop and each time I went for fittings I had to take time off work. The first fitting after arriving and talking through the alterations I required (which included taking up and adding bust pads)I was... (read more)

This company should have been called disaster village, we ordered dresses 14 months before the date of the wedding. Upon arrival into the store we discovered they had totally messed up the order and ordered the wrong styles. After finding out we couldnt get the correct styles in we had to settle for the ones that had arrived and one of the bridesmaids had to settle for one that had been in the store and tried on by several people. Not once throughout all of this did I lose my temper with... (read more)

went at the end of feb 2012, didnt have an appointment but wasnt a problem, an assistant helped straight away and asked about the wedding and budget, i was worried at prices from 1200/1800 and not really knowing what i wanted, was also worried about size as dieting and losing weight. 2nd dress i tried i fell in love with and my mum and cousin cried so i knew it was the one, stroke of luck it was in sale for 525!! they measured me and the dress was to be made to measure and could be taken in... I got married July 2011, We were treated like adults! All the staff here were amazing & so helpful, & value for money. They take in to consideration wedding cost and how expensive they are & let you pay off your dream dress my instalments. I had a fantastic wedding thanks to Celebration Village & there staff, I would recommend this store to anyone. (read more)

Went recently to have a look at the dress's there. Im 24 next year and myself and my friend felt like we were being treated like children. The 1 lady who helped me try on the dress's was friendly enough but there was another there who was scowling at me the whole time for no reason. The gowns are not cheap either around £1000 on avarage. Thankfully I managed to get my dress from another shop at half the price and one that looked better. My advice would be to go perhaps if your an older... (read more)

What a fantastic service!
I arrived at celebration village as a last resort; after not having had much luck finding a dress elsewhere that day. I explained that I only had 9 weeks to plan my wedding and I have to say that the last resort turned out to be the best decision I made that day; as I found the perfect dress!
I had to buy my dress from stock (as I didn't have enough time to order a brand new one)and it was in need of a considerable amount of cleaning; however, the staff assured... (read more)

My only recommendation about this store would be DO NOT VISIT IT. My mum and I went there for my wedding gown strangely enough after it was recommended to us by my mums work colleague. I tried on a couple of dresses and found 'THE Dress'. The staff were helpful and friendly at this point. I went away and came back and ordered the dress in June 2009 and was told my dress would be in 5 months after. After 5 months I rang up, my dress wasn't in and was fobbed off saying don't worry at least you... (read more)

WOULD NOT ADVISE BUYING FROM THIS STORE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU NEED ALTERATIONS MAKING TO YOUR DRESS.
I bought an evening gown for a black-tie wedding which was too big at a size 22 (I am a size 16) but was reassured by the staff that it could be taken in and altered to fit, as it was the only size left! The dress was altered by simply taking in massive seams at the sides and the dress did not hang well or fit at all well. I complained and left the dress to be altered again and pressed. On... Great friendly and approachable staff. I was still able to try on even though i didn't have an appointment.
Fantastic range of Wedding dresses, Good variety of tiaras and veils too. Nice relaxing environment, No pressure.
Ordered my dress which i struggled to get (had seen it on the internet!)
Love it to bits and cant wait for the big day!!
Also ordered bridesmaid dresses but then changed my mind. Nothing a problem, even offered my money back when a deposit had been made.

Everyone was so helpful at Celebration Village Manchester giving advice and being able to speak with your actual fitter is a great comfort for ensuring a successful conclusion. With having a mens hire department with the same expertise and being able to match the rouche and hanks with the bridesmaids dressing takes an enormous amount of pressure off and saves running around to different shops.I also ordered my wedding cake and hired my limosine and was able to relax in the coffee shop whilst... Have been in looking at Mother of the Bride outfits. Very old fashioned styles on offer, some not even suitable for Grandmother of the Bride. My daughter has been waiting since January for her Bridesmaids dresses to arrive, and was told today that they have been despatched. We'll see how long it takes for them to arrive, and let's hope that everything is ok, as the wedding is only 7 weeks away. Celebration Village in Manchester needs a total re-furb, musty, poor lighting, old and tatty... (read more)

I cannot believe that I have visited Celebration Village Manchester like some of the reviewers on here (although everyone is entitled to their opinion). The service I received from this store was fantastic, I hadn't made an appointment but I was invited to try on gowns, the staff were helpful, friendly and honest which is an important factor for me. I now have on order the dress of my dreams and I'm very excited and looking forward to visiting again soon. I love the idea of everything... (read more)

I disliked the service from Celebration Village Manchester, which in my opion I have never had such bad service when spending so much money in one shop. Two members of staff were particularly rude, and when we pointed out a long list of errors, they never once appologised.
The only advice I would give to any one thinking about using the company is DONT DO IT!!!!! (read more)

Where to start with Celebration Village Manchester. We ordered and paid for extra material from the bridesmaid dresses to make the ushers cravats, they charged us £150 and said this would cover them being made up hower we wanted them, after several un returned phone calls the material arrived late when they were made up, they certainly were not to our specifications, one out of the six was completly unusable, one person in particular was so rude and could not understand why with only one... Celebration Village Manchester has nice staff but one mistake you can forgive and put down to a mistake however i have had 2 bad experiences with these.
Firstly my mums dress came in late and just 2weeks before her wedding and was the WRONG dress therefore too late to do anything about it as it was late. She ended up with a dress not of her choice!
Secondly my sisters dress came in damage with pen on it which gained a poor response from staff.
Very disappointed as seemed nice and helpful... (read more)

I visited celebration village in march 2008. Getting married for the second time and being 50 years old I did not look forward to the shopping trip! My beautiful daughter in law came with me for moral support. On entering the show room I was asked by an assistant if I had an appointment, which I did not, that was no problem, she then asked who was getting married, I explained what I wanted, to feel and look like a bride but not in something clearly for a 20 something. This lovely lady... (read more)

If you are looking for a comical day out then celebration village might be the way forward, however if like me you had planned a nice day out for your bridesmaids, in my experience, you may end up sorely dissapointed! The staff didn't seem well trained and there was no attention to detail. The biggest thing for me was the state of the dresses - they were so grubby some them were grey with dirt. I have never seen this before, we were shocked. (read more)
