“Petite Star Zia 3 wheeler”

★★★★☆

written by Amy-CC on 13/01/2012

I have just brought this pushchair for my just turning 2 year old little girl. She is quite tall for her age and has now outgrown her pram so needed a little, easy to manage pushchair to get around. As she likes to walk but still gets tired. This pushchair is great, she has plenty of room in it, not squashed at all like she was in your simple fold away buggies/pushchairs (cheap and cheerful I know) but would much rather pay the extra money for her comfort and safety. Iv been able to fit her change bag in the little basket underneath (that's the only negative point, the size of the basket) but have been able to put 2-3 bags on each handle and is still as light to push. So if your looking for a larger pushchair for older/taller children the petite star Zia 3 wheeler is perfect for it .

I noticed alot of reviews whinging that this pushchair tips easily. If you are managing 2/3 bags on each handle and it still has not tipped up (like sooo many others have stated it doing) then it questions what they are exactly moaning about. I have a tall two yr old and in need of something she is going to be comfy in. You have just helped me decide. =o)

Petit Star Zia 4: I LOVE this pram. I wanted something really small and light and this is perfect. It easily slips into the boot of my micra, slots neatly into my tiny hall cupboard and is easy to collapse and assemble. It's very easy to maneuverer and I never worry about how much space I'm taking up in shops, cafes or on the street. The cocoon is easy to attach for my newborn and she seems very comfortable in it. The only minor complaint and the reason it didn't get 5 stars is that the shopping pouch underneath is really tiny. All in all, an excellent little buggy and great value for money. OH, I haven't used the carseat because it doesn't come a base to attach to and it doesn't seem secure enough without one. I'm hoping to be able to buy one

I bought this pushchair when my son was 18 months, as our previous pushchair had to be retired. It was recommended to me by a friend, and I wasn't disappointed.

It's extremely light, with excellent suspension, there is plenty of space for my now two year old son, who is very tall. It seems comfortable, it's very easy to fold and it's easy to clean.

The handles are a little low, the shopping basket is quite small, and the raincover is a bit annoying, but those are minor flaws.

I use this pushchair almost every day, and I am still very happy with it.

I have had the Petite Star Zia for about 18 months and am happy with it on the whole. My son seems to be comfortable in it and falls asleep quite happily. The recline mechanism is a bit fiddly but fine once you get used to it and better than the quinny zapp which doesn't recline at all. My main problem with the buggy is the rain cover which is totally useless. I don't know if it has been improved since I bought it but my son kicks it off as soon as I put it on. Oh, and the wheels have fallen off a couple of times. And yes, the handles do seem low but you get used to them!

I have been through many prams over the last 8 years and this on I have to say i really love. The suspention is great, there is so much room for my son to grow that he'll still be in it at the age of 4. It is so easy to fold away and compact. After reading other reviews about it tipping over I have not had a problem with it, it seems sturdy enough. The only downside is that the handles are very low, (measurments are given before sale)

written by on 05/06/2010

I absolutely love this pushchair!! i bought the petite star zia after having a bebe confort loola which was also a good pushchair but just too big and bulky. I got the petite star in sky blue which is a gorgeous turquoise colour and is perfect for my little boy. It is a dream to push and the suspension gives a really smooth ride. I've read reviews saying it topples over with just a changing bag on or going up curbs which is rubbish!! I hang a changing bag on the handles with bottles, nappies etc in it and it has never tipped over and i've had no problems what so ever going up curbs! Also people have said that the pram holds no weight i.e shopping bags, well the pushchair isn't designed to hold your weekly shops on the handles with it being a lightweight stroller! The handle height hasn't been a problem for me at 5'5 or my partner at 5'11 . the raincover fits perfectly over the pram and when i dont need it, it fits in the shopping basket underneathe which is all this basket has probably been desgined for which isn't a problem. overall this is a brilliant pushchair for the price, i got mine for £103 on ebay straight from the factory!! i just wish i would have bought it sooner!! hope this helps!!

“i have given the zia 4 stars for the following reasons... ”

★★★★☆

written by on 04/06/2010

i have given the zia 4 stars for the following reasons...
1. the rubbish shopping basket, they could have extended it buy at least 3 inches each way without affecting the folding mechanism or folded size!
2. it doesn't have a "lifty-uppy" (technical term ;) ) footrest for when my girlie falls asleep so her legs hang down!
3. the handle could have easily been made to adjust like the maclaren xt and also could do with some foam grip as (and i know this is gross to say) my hands tend to sweat with the plastic on very hots days!

on the plus side......
1. folds only a touch wider than the quinny zapp and i have a feeling this is only because quinny said no to petite star copying any more of thier design!
2. lays back for lil ones to snooze even a two yr old tends to fall asleep in the buggy if you have had a very busy day out!
3. wheels quick release in case you have rolled over something nasty in the street and you can put them in a plastic bag for in the car!
4. mine came with a lovely clip on change bag (just like the quinny buzzbox really1)which clips on in a way that WILL NOT TIP THE STROLLER BACK HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS!
5. easy to steer with one hand whilst wrestling to large american bulldogs down a narrow flight of steps on a walk!
6. the fabric does not seem to collect dirt at all any spillages just wipe off really easily! essential with a toddler!
6. the petite star zia is 130 gbp in argos and comes with hood footmuff raincover and bag!! bargain compared to its rival the zapp!
7. mya loves it and nods of so easily as it is so lovely and bouncy!

so there we go the pros far outweigh the cons in my opinion and i have 19 prams/strollers/atp's in 23 months, i know its more of an addiction than a necessity but, i just want a buggy that ticks all the boxes and the zia seems to be doing the trick so far! buy it you won't be disappointed!

i bought this stroller after i had a quinny which i hate
it was too cumbersome and i wanted something i could always use and also bring on holidays i love it it reclines is very lightweight but very sturdy wide for jnr and plenty of room very very easy to control and folds to next to nothing the only downside is that she faces forward but i can live with that

i wouldnt part with it for the world

Although the Petite Star Zia pram is very easy to fold and push I was a little disappointed with the sun parasol, but hey how often do we get good weather! Which brings me to the rain cover - I was a little worried as I read they don't fit well but mine does, so don't be put off by this. A good pram for the money.

The Petite Star Zia is a great second buggy for keeping in small boot off car, ideal for occasional use the silver cross is the main pushchair. Baby finds it so comfortable sleeps all the time, cosy toes are really snuggly. (For the safety of my baby i would never put shopping bags over the handles off any buggy as they are designed to carry a baby not messages!)

written by erikad on 13/05/2009

I ordered the Petite Star Zia stroller after seeing it in Mothercare and trying it out and comparing against loads of others. When I got home and read reviews I wasn't sure I'd made the right decision and started to doubt myself - however, it was delivered last week and I love it. Compared to my travel system it's really light and easy to push and so easy to open and close. My 13 month old son loves it and can sit right up and nose at everything or lie fully flat and have a sleep. The raincover has a velcro strip at the bottom which keeps it in place so I don't understand what other customers issues are with this. I also bought a matching footmuff and this is really cosy and warm.

“I love the Petite Star Zia buggy and have much more...”

★★★★★

written by on 06/05/2009

I love the Petite Star Zia buggy and have much more freedom to go shopping in difficult areas due to the buggy been easy to manouvere and fit into small spaces. I was thinking of buying the Quinny Zapp(almost identical) but was sold on the fact that the Zia reclines (my baby is still only 5 months old) and come with a shopping basket (albeit small but able to hold a few essential items). I also got £20 off in Toys R Us as it is currently on offer. Love the Cranberry colour (a reddy pink and perfect for a girl). The seat is really spacious and baby looks very comfortable. The buggy can be put up and folded very easily and is wonderfully compact when stored. The ride seems smooth and confortable. Some people have commented on the poor fit of the raincover, especially near the foot area. I think that I have a more up to date raincover with mine as I had no trouble fitting it at all and I passed the velcro strap across the back of the front wheel before securing it so that there was a tight fit. The basket can be difficult to access, esepcially if baby is in the recline position (when it is virtually impossible to access) but I have got around that by buying a stroller net from Mothercare to keep my purse and other bits in. I tend to use the basket for baby items as I only need to access them when baby is awake. In an ideal world, at 5' 9" I would like slightly higher handles. It can be tricky getting up steps and steep kerbs as tipping it into its back wheels gives you a sense of straining the frame in some way, maybe I haven't worked out the knack of doing it properly yet. I managed to get a matching footmuff of the internet which looks very snug and sturdy although it does say it is sponge clean only. I am sure that I will have to try out the washing machine at some point on a delicate wash. I suspect that the seat might be difficult to clean to as it isn't removable (one of the reasons I bought the footmuff as the back doubles up as a liner).

This was my 3rd buggy and the best, it is light weight easy to fold/unfold and even carry in and out of car with baby in arms. I had a big 3 wheeler for going for forest walks with dog but got rid of it and use my Petite Star Zia for this as the suspension is great for uneven surfaces.

Love the Petite Star Zia stroller! Ive had it for around 6 months now and my 16 month old looks really comfy in it. Had had a few problems with the front wheel sticking when turning but despite the very few bad points I still love this pram. Its so easy to put up and down and folds so small! Really light, easy to steer, looks lovely, folds small and really easily. Only bad points are recline is a bit of a fiddle, rain cover is a bit small and front wheel sometimes sticks.

“When I first got the Petite Star Zia I was worried...”

★★★★☆

written by nikkihawkins84 on 09/01/2009

When I first got the Petite Star Zia I was worried about the sturdiness of the buggy as it seemed very bouncy compared to more traditional stlye buggies, and I was convinced that it was going to collapse on itself if I hung anything on the handles.

But I have since learnt that the bounciness ensures my daughter has a more comfortable ride, and it cannot be made like the more traditional ubrella fold styles as it would not fold as small. I also find that I can hang as many bags on the handles as I would a normal buggy. No other buggy with these specifications compare in size or weight when folded.

The good points make this a lovely buggy and the bad points are things that Petite Star need to fine tune - the raincover being the main one, I can rarely put it on, and if I do my daughter generally kicks it off.

I love this buggy, it is used and abusedby being folded up and unfolded a few times a day as well as pushed for miles every week.

All in all the Petite Star Zia is a lovely buggy. It's light weight, easy to fold and my 2 yr old daughter seems to be comfortable in it. I had a quinny Zapp before this and it was so heavy. I didn't like the way you had to take the top part of the buggy off before you put it into the car - then back on again.
