Good Points: Nice pool, beautiful gardens

Bad Points: Middle-of-nowhere location. 3miles from the coast / town. Courtesy bus can take up to 30mins to get there. Village shops 1 mile ( nothing of interest there!! ) Hotel is badly designed with stairs everywhere and no lifts. Many apartments have a hideous view.

General comments: we were horrified to arrive at this hotel late at night and see a prefabricated-factory-like building with a dark and dingy foyer. Our apartment was just as bad. A bedroom floor with big dips in it and a filthy carpet with holes around the bed. The balcony overlooked the huge red restaurant roof, blocking out the pool area view. We were promised another flat next morning but it was in the basement and had a dark little terrace. A few days later we were offered a wonderful, spacious apartment on the 2nd floor ( block C) which had views to the pool, the gardens, the mountains and the sea as well as a big wrap-around balcony with colourful geraniums . Bedroom carpet apart ( beggars cannot be choosers !! ) everything was spotless. There were 2 hotplates and a full sized oven, but no microwave, in the kitchen.
The other guests were Germans but 90% of them spoke English and chatted to us. The staff were lovely, very helpful and considerate. The food was plentiful, if not great, and bar prices were cheap. It is such a shame that the design of this hotel, stairs everywhere, no lifts, and its location lets it down.
If you are ever in this area do drive up to the great, long, palm-tree lined, white-sand beach at Andres, about 5mls north of Santa......the best beach on Tenerife. ( showers but no shops, so take food & drinks etc. free parking)
