    Good Points: Uncomplicated, simple to operate, highly reliable, industrial quality water softener.


    Bad Points: More expensive than the single tank computerised units, however there's no electronic frippery to go wrong which may mean long-term ownership costs are lower.


    General comments: My Waterside DX500 water softener is great! Twin tank means softened water always available, even during regeneration. Unbelievably easy to set up - simply set the water hardness on the dial after installation and you're done. Robust construction and standard industry proven controller parts give good reliability. Flawless performance - my unit has been in service for 8 years without so much as a hiccup, and has delivered consistently softened water. Other than having to add a bag of salt every few months, you forget it's there. Relatively compact dimensions mean it's easy to tuck out of the way.
