“Exceptional customer service as standard”

My mum was taken seriously ill in South Africa and from the first contact this company was helpful, informative and considerate. The medical team kept in touch with me continually including a call form a member of the team who was off call to say he had researched which hospital would be best for mum in Leeds and was redirecting the ambulance. “Waste of good money.”

Plenty small print that disguises some missing essentials and additional medical condition added that did not exist (no time to sort correction due to almost immediate departure). some of these conditions ie "delays" included in the policy underwriters (a separate German firm with UK offices)documentation conveniently not shown. “unclear policy”

I have had a policy with staysure for many years and have had to claim twice once for being caught in a flash flood in Spain and lost a total of £3000 worth of goods and only received £400 as was told did not tick the correct box. Now sadly my wife fell and broke her ankle very badly and when the police checked out our paperwork they took us to a private hospital as we had fully comprehensive (when I took this policy out I asked if everything possible was covered and told yes). TENERIFE TRAVELLERS BEWARE. IF YOU TAKE ILL WHILST IN THE SOUTH OF THE ISLAND STAYSURE WILL NOT PAY FOR YOU TO ATTEND THE ONLY HOSPITAL IN THE SOUTH I.E. THE GREEN HOSPITAL. “Very disappointed”

I had my mobile stolen on holiday in Spain earlier this year. I pulled all the documentation together to support my claim including police reports and proof of purchase statements from the uk. I duly submitted my claim which Staysure accepted, but rather than pay out enough to fund a replacement they referred me to a minor sub clause hidden away in the small print which capped their liability to £100. “QUICK IN FULL”

My partner was unfortunate enough to fall ill on a 30 night cruise after 12 days while we were in port in Istanbul. The ship's doctor wanted him checked out in hospital which he was and discharged the next day feeling fine but the doctor did not want him back on board as we were about to go round many Greek islands with poor medical facilities (in case he got ill again). Second time in 2 yr using SS Travel Insurance (Single Trip). Chose originally on price. (We are their target marketing ages 61 & 72 year olds). Recently had to make amendment & had to contact several times in last 3 weeks. Beware when purchasing travel insurance from Staysure!! I was talked into taking out a comprehensive policy by one of their operators who reassured me that it covered everything however when you need to make a claim you have to deal with a different company called Reactive Claims who I found to be so unprofessional and unresponsive that I had to keep asking Staysure to contact this company in order to get an update from them!! “Puzzled former customer!”

In April we took out travel insurance with Staysure but as I then needed a minor operation they said they would not cover my pre-existing conditions even although they had nothing to do with the operation. We cancelled and got a refund but have now received an e-mail today (20th October) dated April saying we are insured with them!!!! “Impossible to contact”

Had a worldwide policy which came up for renewal.Called from Spain on Eight occasions and did not get answered,left a message for a callback which didn't happen.Eventually renewed policy but forgot to give them a medical condition.Started again and eventually got through.I refused the increased premium and they said it was too late to stop the original payment but they would cancel and refund.Ten days later no refund called again.Sorry we didn't put the refund in place will now do so Dreadful… Read Full Review

“Extended cover”

I tried to extend my annual worldwide travel insurance as I was going on holiday. Existing long term customers are obviously not given any preferential treatment, rather the opposite. I was given a quote which was almost twice the amount I had paid for the existing annual worldwide cover. When I phoned customer services I was told to phone sales and when sales gave me the quote and I tried to negotiate a lower price I was told to ring customer services. “Exceptional Service At A Very Vulnerable Time”

I cannot recommend Staysure highly enough. Following an accident on holiday in Italy and sustaining an injury that was exceptionally painful and prevented me from sitting for even short periods, Staysure came to my rescue. “Renewing policy from Spain.”

I telephoned from Spain to renew my policy and was waiting for 18 minutes before an operative was free to handle my call, the web site states that you have to be living in the UK to use this facility, so therefore you have to use the phone. I do not know if the number given on the reminder mail is free in the UK but is probably not accepted by Telefonica and I was charged at a premium rate. Total call length was 28 minutes. “Travel Insurance Renewal”

Although I only wanted to renew my existing policy and informed the operator that all conditions and details were the same I was kept on the premium rate phone line from France for 20mins 50secs answering and reanswering the same questions. Totally unneccesary and annoying, also due to the fact I could not find the email with my discount code I was not able to avail the discount offered.
