Good Points: Claims dept is local, which is good, because I have had to go there in person on several occasions in my wheelchair to sort out their paperwork!
Bad Points: Too many to list! Basically, unwilling to pay out. I have rated our claim as unsuccessful, due to the fact that, after six months, it still is not resolved.
General comments: I have bought annual travel insurance for many years, but this was the first time I have needed it. It is six months now since I broke my leg/ankle in South Africa and needed an operation. I am still getting reminder bills and threatening emails from the hospital for unpaid services. At the claims department, my file is never where it should be and their system is always down when I ring, it is a wonder anything gets done there at all. They not only lose bills, they also lose '0's off the amounts, and heaven knows where they get their exchange rates. They refused to pay more than 50% of the expenses we incurred as a direct result of my injury. This was my husband's 50th birthday, it took a year to plan and one accident and a rotten insurance company to ruin.
