Ok I've been lucky, bought second hand for £200 and its 2 years old but spent £150 on it. Replaced clutch cable, mirror, engine casing, chain, sprocket, back light lens, fixed electric start. The ONLY real major problem is the rubbish nylon tyres, came off it on a wet road and slid my bike under a car! Its so bloody hard getting the correct rubber tyres for it. Got some Dunlop ones, same size but werent tubeless and now have to return them. My advice is this, if you wanrt a cheap back just to enjoy in the summer this is great but dont ride it in winter, unless you find a way off getting better tyres.

For all those people who are thinking of buying a chinese bike, there are some poor ones and good ones. This bike is good for the money. But you must remember a few points.Check the bike regulary, replace any lose bolts with decent ones with nylon thread nuts.Change spark plug to a decent plug. You can as I did change lead to a proper silicon spark plug lead.If buying new put decent oil in.If second hand change oil and put in top notch oil in.It will be worth the money if you are intending to do lots of high speed miles.Cover the bike in wd 40 everywhere. It will stop switches going wrong and cut down on rust.If you do these service points and check every week and service it,you will probably find like me that for the money its fine. remember these bikes probably come out of the factory for maybe £400.So you are getting a bargain really as long as you follow the look after rules.Happy riding and keep safe.

I bought a Vixen on 1st March, so even though iv only had just over a month on it i dont have any real probs with it, apart from i cant find a user manual for it ( any help any one). I get about 175 miles to a tank, riding position comfitable. I use it going to and from work and its great for this. I just make sure to give it a wipe after rain so it should stay nice for longer.

Bought one of these recently after spending many months researching Chinese bikes on the net and finding this to largely being the best rated.I've covered 500km in all weather conditions and have so far been happy. The side stand kill switch WILL give you problems by cutting your bike out intermittently. Don't leave it and hope for the best, its a simple 2 minute job to disconnect or even unscrew and tuck under the seat. this problem is well documented on blogs and forums and simple steps available to cure it. Other than that do your weekly checks to keep everything tight(not to overtighten the exhaust studs we've all done it)change the oil regularly and i keep my bike coated in ACF50 seeing how i ride in all weather. To sum this bike up its very enjoyable and it costs me £3.50 a week to run as a commuter bike instead of £35.00 my car costs a week. I,ve bought this bike brand new out of petrol money

I have recently purchased a lexmoto vixen 125cc it is a brand new bike I cant fault anything on it. Apart from the petrol how many miles do you get on a full tank CAN SOMEONE ANSWER ME THAT PLEASE cant believe something as simple as putting a fuel gauge on a bike is such a problem. Why are they not fitted with one who wants to get stuck in the middle of nowhere with no petrol!!!!!!!

mine gets to 250km before i have to fill up but the reserve tap gets your anouther 40 km, hope this helps :D
Written on: 29/07/2013
dont forget you got your reseve tank so should not run out,
Written on: 03/05/2012
thats what the reserve tank is for

Fill up then zero the trip reading, after 300 Km top up, should be about 8 litres, simple!!!

In 1981 I had an XJ750 Yamaha - it was fitted with a digital fuel guage.
2 years ago on my 50th birthday I was very lucky to receive a gift from my younger brother, a mint nick 2000 reg XJ600N. It doesn't have a fuel guage!
I've just bought (awaiting registration) a Lexmoto Gladiator 125 Scoot.
Because of the ridiculous price of fueI I was planning to start commuting to work on theXJ600N but at 55mpg it's not really that frugal, as it's in perfect order I don't really want to put miles on it.
Also I plan on fitting a screen on the Gladiator to add to the weather protection alreay there. I'm hoping that the plastics will keep the weather off the electrics/engine.
I'm a practical chap, I'm hoping that with common sense, TLC and copious amounts of WD40 that the Gladiator will be reliable and give me 90mpg!

Why not fill up (making a note of mileage), carry an extra pint in your pocket and keep going until you run out. Or of course just check main tank mileage and only use reserve to get you to the nearest filling station.
Written on: 10/11/2011
@ guest
so you only get 180 miles from a tank!!
65mpg
interesting
Written on: 09/11/2011
tank holds 2.75 gallons
100 mpg = 275 miles
275 miles = 442 km
So if I were you I would fill the tank up every 320km
Set trip meter to zero on next fill up
dials are in km

I get a bit tired of the bad press Chinese bike are getting latley. In this day and age, people just dont have the money to go out and buy a well overpriced Japanese bike? I purchased my Haotian 4 years ago. I paid 800 pound for it (brand new). With a quick change of the spark plug, check of all the nuts and bolts, she was ready to ride. I found no problem finding someone to insure it, Carol Nash were happy to do it, and gave me a great price too.I also had no problem finding someone to service it for me. I have recently put a new exhaust on, as the silencer had rusted on the old one. Piece of cake, passed its M.O.T for the second time!!. Even the machanic was quite inpressed with the bike, for the price. I have just started work on my bike to turn it into a Bobber. The Haotian looks great when you start to strip it a bit. I think overall, the Haotian is fantastic value for money, a great bike to ride, cheap to insure, cheap to fill up. It you look after this bike, it WILL look after you.

Fantastic value for money, parts now easy to find.bit strange where the choke is tho.Still seem to have problems finding anyone to service or repair the bike, but think that will get better in time. For how much you pay for this bike brand new,you really cant slate it that much.I have found that if you look after this bike,it will look after you.

I have recently brought this Hoation Vixen as my first bike. I must say that I am very impressed so far. I have only been out on it twice but found both trips very enjoyable. The build quality is ok, not quite to the standard of a large bike but what do you expect for a 125cc that only costs £1000. I have read recently in reveiws that the Vixen handles poorly on corners. I think people are forgeting what type of bike this is. It is a cruiser so getting your knee down in corners is never going to be an option. You would'nt try and bury a Harley into a corner without expecting to fall off so why should a 125cc cruiser be any different. The only downfall i have found with this bike is that the side stand is very low when in its up position. This has caused it to scrape on the floor a couple of times when going round a left hand corner. This does not affect the ride at all but does give you a shock the first time it happens. I intend to take my full licence so needed to get some experience on the road. After buying and riding this fab looking bike I have decided to take my restricted licence which allows me to stay on my Vixen for two years at which time I will automatically get my full licence. This will only cost me £300 instead of £650. I would'nt usually want to do this and be stuck on a 125cc for two years but this bike is so much fun and sounds alot larger than the engine size suggests that I am willing to put up with it for the £350 saving. Anyone wanting a cheap starter bike would be stupid not to have a look at this bike. The equivalent named bike (suzuki/Yammy) would cost you at least £2000 new so this is a very good alternative option. Give it a go, you wont be sorry.

The Haotian HT-8 125 (Vixen 125) is exellent value for money.
Look after it and it will look after you. An easy bike to handle great first bike or for those coming back in to bike`s.
I last rode a bike in 1972 an old Ariel Arrow I have`nt `rode a bike until now April 2009. This Haotian Vixen sort of puts me in the mind of the old B S A. Bantam. or Triumph Tiger cub.
Just a bloody good ole work mans bike. Cheap economical and very very presentable.

The Haotian HT-8 125 (Vixen 125) is a nice looking learner bike and sounds much bigger will tell in a few months what reliability is like but pleased so far
searched web and parts seem available?
read some sorry tales from forams but most seem to be from techphobes who want something for nothing seems great value for money to me

ok have had this bike over a year now and its been reliable an a pleasure to own allso after a bit of tweeking have taken and past the mod one and module two bike test on it i recommend one for learning or back to biking points to watch for are the crank case vent needs emptying every service other wide it fills with water (thats what it is desinged for crankcase condensation etc) but if it fills and blocks then crankcase pressure builds up so drain it every service if not more often i do mine every month as i do a bolt check

The Haotian HT-8 125 is a fantastic buy for commuting (I do 60 miles per day) or as a first bike. and does easily 130 to the gallon. The chrome is as good as new with very little attention and the build quality is amazing for the money. Reliable is not saying enough, it starts everytime and runs sweetly, have clocked up over 3000 miles commuting to work. great in traffic as it is very nippy and manoeuvrable but still manages a steady 60mph on the A3

I have had my bike three weeks and to say i am happy would be an understatement. It looks great sounds great (like a bike three times it's size). Very stable at all speeds with little or no vibration. i only bought the bike as a replacement for my lifan 125 after it got written off when the front tyre blew and i binned. would recomend this bike to any new rider or seasoned rider who wants a cheap a to b bike with great looks.

I bought a Haotian Vixen several weeks ago & have been pleasantly surprised. Despite its reputation for being a bit slow I managed to get mine easily to the red line at 10000 rpm (64mph) & with a bit of a push got it to 70mph, albeit at 11200rpm, something I dont recommend you do too often however it happily cruises at just under 60 which is really quite enough for a learner bike. As for reliability in the wet, I took it from Andover to Glastonbury at the bank holiday weekend in the worst weather imaginable & it never missed a beat. OK, so far I have only had it a few weeks & only covered 1000 miles but its been excellent & represents real value for money.

This motorcycle is very easy to ride, it handles well at all speeds, and is extremely comfortable, I have owned mine for over 12 months and have covered over 6,000 miles without any problems what so ever. This motorcycle is a first class 125 for the new price asked, I would defiantly purchases this model again.

I bought a Haotian HT-8 125 (aka Vixen 125) from new almost a year ago and although it has only been used for social occasions and has thus only done a little over 1000km it has served me well so far. It has always been very reliable and for the scant £800 I bought it for I must say I have been very impressed. First off this bike looks fantastic, it is an absolute monster much bigger than I was expecting and certainly a lot bigger than most 125's it has loads of chrome and as long as you look after it, it will still look shiny after a year (and I should imagine many years to come). It has a low seat and chopper style sitting position which would make it universally comfortable for male/females of any height, my girlfriend is tiny (just 5ft 2) and she can ride this bike no problem.
It rides and handles well, particular at low speeds (it's only a 125 after all) it's nippy enough to get you through traffic jams and large and stable enough so that you feel safe on it even when it's maxed out. The only negative point about the ride is it's rather poor top speed, it will top out at 55mph on a flat road with no wind with one fairly light adult rider (I'm only 10 stone), the most I've got out of it is 65 on a steep downward slope and as soon as you start going uphill you be lucky to get 45 out of it. Saying this even when it's doing 60 downhill it always feel stable and doesn't vibrate too much, I have always felt safe on this bike, and with some tuning and some new parts it's probably possible to get more out of it (mines still under warranty so I haven't wanted to mess with it yet).
The Fixtures and fittings are of an ok standard and after a year i haven't had a problem with bulbs or wiring going. All of the parts seem of a good quality which was quite surprising given how cheap this bike was! One of the complaints I have often heard about Chinese imports is that you can't source parts for them, the website/company I bought this bike off claim to stock all of the parts for it, a claim i have up until now always felt dubious of, however after over balancing it when i was walking it through a car park once and "gently lowering it to the ground" I managed to shear through the plate that holds the rear brake leaver on, and so had to put the company (llexeter) to the test. I rang them on Monday and had the part delivered to me by Tuesday afternoon for £12 inc VAT, I'm not sure if I was just lucky but for them to stock such a random part on their shelves is pretty impressive.
All in all I would recommend this bike to anyone who wants a cheap new bike to learn on as long as you don't want to be keeping up with Aprilla's or CBR's. It is a stable bike and as the first I have ever ridden it has always been kind to me and I have never come off. I found it very difficult to find a review on this bike when I first thought about getting one so I hope anyone it that position finds it useful.

I found this review very helpful because...the costumer uses a good argumentation to give a all round user the details needed to make his own choice..

<br/>This bike should be sold in Denmark, but is not due to no importer or distributor.. Neither for this small chopper nor any from other from the CG125 family..

I found this review very helpful because... I am purchasing the Lexmoto Arrow. its the same bike, same engine and comes from the same factory but has a different shape. Its my first bike and I too have had a hard time finding reviews on the Lexmoto Arrow. After reading this reviews i feel much more confident in making my purchase.

I found this review very helpful because...I am thinking of buying one to commute to work etc, I was originaly going to buy a suzuki marauder but my funds will now not allow it and I want to buy from new. So reading this and other reviews I think I am comfortable buying one now, and you cannot fault the price.
