    Good Points: This gentleman is quick to answer questions, either by email or telephone. His website is well above average. His prices are very competitive - you get much more for your money than the lesser entertainers. He is very punctual. He answers queries and responds to special needs. He adapts his show to the child - it is not generic.


    Bad Points: Not one


    General comments: Darren Atkins Magic Works entertainer is a professional man, with a clear passion for effective, sensitive and rewarding entertainment. He identifies the needs of the subject (in this case our 5 year old daughter blessed with acute shyness) and discusses those needs with the parents. His show immediately entrances and captivates the children - and then they are his - pied piper without the dark side! He never failed to remember a child's name once told - not just the party child either! He rewarded all children equally, yet still made the birthday girl know she was 'special'. His balloon making skills have to be seen to be believed. His 'control' of the kids was remarkable. We all want kid's parties to be 'managed' when we engage entertainers - well I can certainly say he did that - with bells on. The parents at our party today (29 kids and assorted grown-ups) started off at the beginning as one would expect - chatting - but soon they watched as their little darlings (horrors) were at the mercy of this mans talent - they (kids) were quiet when he asked of them - try doing that with one unruly five-year old! They responded well to his prompts and engaged them all in the show. As a person he was affable and friendly, and not at all dismissive - some I have seen at others parties regard themselves as bestowing their ability upon your child's day as an inconvenience! Not so with Darren - you could imagine buying him a pint afterwards - except he had a wedding to go to.

    This man was a true gent - book him - you will not be disappointed.
